@strange First, I don't know about Nadini's ancestry but she said herself that she is of the Indian race. I don't know on what basis you're claiming she's African. Second, for you to have only been realising that Africans also live in Malaysia- have you been living under a rock or maybe you're from the "perkampungan" outskirts of Malaysia? I've had African neighbours for years when I used to live at my old house last time. Advice: Read more and get out of your comfort zone to explore the surroundings around. Peace.
This was a much needed topic to be raised...Many Malaysians are racists and feel its okey to be racist but no one speaks of it and its a topic mostly swept under the rug and never brought into discussions. Finally we are addressing the issue publicly and hopefully people realise and stop treating people based on race, colour. We are all one race the human race.
@@atengku9660 Nope, i studied in SK, the most racist stream out there, the ustazahs tell how your religion is not true on your faced etc and other bullshits, doesnt happen in Chinese or Tamil schools. can ask your Malay children who are studying in Chinese Schools, stop blaming other streams and look at SKs, the are like freaking Sekolah Agama.
@@reald3d23 Make a report then. You are playing devil's advocate by saying Chinese schools are not racist? Do you know that they look down on those who have brown skin? Even Malays are considered dark for them. For your information, there are no countries which have school streams based on race. America is diverse. Even early immigrants which are not English speaking were subject to humiliation and banned from speaking their parents language (including those from European descent). Today, all Americans speak English. Our school system is a colonial's legacy where they thought that the pendatang will be go back to their motherland. Even Singapore don't have vernacular schools anymore. You are labelling SK as racist because of one ustazah. That's racist. Is it fair for a person to label Indians as robbers and gangsters just because that person encountered that from an Indian?

This is the reason why i always root for everyone going to the same school aka a school which is racially diverse since primary years.By giving everyone exposure to different races and cultures at a young age, kids will learn to be more acceptable of other people cultures and races. I was in a racially diverse school in my primary years and i always thought there was nothing wrong to be friends with other people who are not the same religion and race as me. But when i enter my secondary school( who is mostly malay), it was disgusting to see how some of my classmates treats my indian friends. This is why no one believes racism will ever truly end. Once we're all the same shade in 10,000 years we'll still discriminate against each other, just for different reason. Humanity needs to evolve, and quick.
Funny how Indians complain of racism when abroad when they themselves discriminate against the tribals in india and look down on them . Marriage advertising is full of people looking for a fair complexioned bride. . There are also a multitude of castes who are either considered high or low and some medium level ! And they don’t inter marry as much as possible . Coming to inter religious marriages like Hindu - Muslim , that’s a big no no most of the time . Coming to Malaysia where Chinese are considered superior , in the west they complain when they experience racism . It seems human beings are unique in that they desire to look down on other human beings using some lame excuse or the other .
Manasses Kamau I understand that and that’s absolutely wrong . I read a comment that among the blacks there is discrimination based on tribes. I have also heard a mixed race - Afro caribbean and white say that in her dads country of origin lighter skin if favoured to dark skin and skin lightening creams have a big market in Africa too . Inherently human beings are the only species with this mind set of needing to dominate another human based on something or the other .

I was from SK (boys school) in the 80s and we have quite numbers of chinese and indian students in the class. However racism never been an issue! I still remember whenever we had any dispute or fight to each other..we use 'nama bapak' instead! So during those days, it was important to know their father, grandfather or mother names. Sound pathetic but one thing for sure, racism is never used to undermine each other. Now its been 30 years since we left our primary school, and sometimes when we have our reunion and meet fellow classmates and forget their names, they will remind us by using their 'nama bapak', and we will laugh! Something i feel 'glad' about it. 😅

I’m so sorry you had to go through what you did as a student. It makes me sad. That must have hurt your feelings. Growing up in the east, we don’t have many Indians here. But honestly, I’ve always thought people with dark skin to be unique and beautiful. Never once, I thought about it being ugly or dirty. You are absolutely right, racism and discrimination are taught, and people can unlearn this to be respectful and accepting others as they are. Why do we want to be the same? It’s better different.
I've Indian friends, I love them, as well as Chinese friends, malays usually use nicknames for friends, sometimes it sounded harsh and unacceptable but that is how we value our friendship. #saynotorasicm
I don't know about that lol. I'm a mix (Malay, Chinese, and a Muslim) and my friend sometimes call me "Wei Cina!". It kinda hurts a little lol. Probably because he is Malay but he looks like Chinese a bit (maybe his grandparents). Jealous maybe 🤔 lol.
Sadly, ppl like us are only a small percentage of this country :( most of them are prejudiced and aren't even open to commit to having interracial friendships. I come from a school that has all races and nationalities mixed together, so when I came out, I'm actually surprised to see groups that are sticking only to their own race. I tend to avoid them. Kinda uncomfortable seeing them so segregated, I don't see the need to be. #saynotoracism
@@lulu9421 it is similar when this group of people study abroad. They only flock together with their own kind, never to branch out. Such a waste of opportunities.
The problem is, kids in Malaysia attend their own schools. Chinese have their own schools, Indians have their own schools, Malays have their own schools. So kids are raised not really socialising and connecting with kids of other races. So the differences between the races is compounded once they grow up. Make most schools in Malaysia just 1 school of all races first, and while I don't think that will solve all of the racist problem, it could make a significant difference.
I kinda understand this argument. But historically chinese and indians want to uphold their mother tongue... If vernacular schools are abolished, ppl from those communities will feel as if their culture is being eroded. Especially since there are many vernacular schools that have been around longer than malaysia has been a country.
@@phadenswandemil4345 I did not say close all vernacular schools, I said close most. While having vernacular schools is great to hold each race's respective cultural practices, it doesn't help in making kids of different racial backgrounds grow up viewing each other as neighbours and friends as opposed to strangers. Compromise Malaysian schools curriculum to accomodate subjects to teach intercultural exchange, such as options to learn other languages, and make English the medium of instruction. IF we are to keep the status quo, then the divisiveness will always be there. Compromise, can't have the best of both worlds
Unity schools won't attain the desired results, even now, the children friends with thier own race groups, during my school days the teachers paired us with the same race beside the desk😎
ill only agree if 1. Follow singapore style where all children must learn mother tongue and sit for that exams in kebangsaan school. 2. All public university must accept all malaysian children according to grades. No quota system, where if you are malay, you will not only have better chances of getting university(not to mention malay only public university) , you will also get scholarships like mara, jpl easily. No use having so called kebangsaan school to promote unity, when once you finish spm, you will immediately find out that you(non-bumi kid) are, in fact, born into a rasist constitution.
Racism doesn't only exist in Malaysia, but also around the world unfortunately... Educating the people is the key, especially the young. Being a Malay, I am certainly proud to call Nandini my "sister"... Huge respect.
How dare you compare the racism in Malaysia to elsewhere when you know nothing about the country. Before commenting your should have read out constitution that places on race above others. Then, you could have gone on ti study the New Economic Policy that includes numerous laws that discriminate against 43% of the population. After that you could learn about the restrictions on religions other than Islam or investigated Putrajaya, a new city built to exclude non Muslims and to hide their very existence. Now, tell me what other countries you had in mind "around the world".

Bila kita x kenal style kaum lain, kita mungkin senang sakah faham. Cara org cina bila bertutur mmg nampak kurang sopan tapi mmg style mereka cara itu tapi saya tahu mereka xde apa apa niat buruk. Bila mereka cakap sesama sendiri pun sama je. Straight forward to the point tak de nak manis manis kan conversation. Every race has different style. India is easiest going. Steady. Mereka ok je dgn style mana mana. Senang adapt
We cant say because some are bad. All are bad. Like every part in the world. People just people. But good people do exist. Its not the place but its people make it different.
As a Malaysian Chinese, I remember when our former Financial Minister Lim Guan Eng said that he identified himself as a “Malaysian” and not a “Chinese”, the backlash he received in the Chinese community is freaking insane. Not to said that we can’t even solve racism within the Chinese community. When a Chinese can’t speak Mandarin because he/she was educated in an International school or overseas, they are often being looked down by other Chinese, especially older generation.

Looking back, i believe it is indeed very wrong. Each one of us had experience racism at some point of our lives, just keep calm and educate:)))

It really boil down to the sort of family you come from. Politicians who are racists were raised in families whose culture influence their mindset and behaviour. Growing up at school, we were always told by the principal to stop being racist and discriminating against other races but at the same time, during co-curricular activities (you know that one on every Wednesday) often times, we were told to queue according to our races and gender. I also agree with the Malay's privileges, despite being a Malay. What we should do is create an incentive for people underqualified to make sure they get work to do and a house to live in, not to make sure that certain races get an education, a job, and a house to live in. We are supposed to fight poverty, not making other races fell into poverty. I talked to one of my Chinese friends that with their result, he could easily get admitted to one of our top local universities but because of his race, he has to go to study in Singapore instead. And the saddest thing is, whenever I talked about this topic, I am labelled as "pengkhianat bangsa". One of my friends, who claimed to have study History also said that Malays should always get a privilege because apparently, in one of agreement before we formed Malaysia, it was said that in any case of Malaysia getting invaded by another country, other races except Bumiputera will go back to their origin countries. I cannot confirm if this is true or if she's talking nonsense because I just disagree with that. If it is true then clearly that agreement needs an amendment. What "origin countries"? They are born and raised in Malaysia, this is their "origin countries". Those who said that other races should go back to their own countries, you are stupid. This is their country. Let them feel at home in their own home. "Hujan emas di negeri orang, hujan batu di negeri sendiri. Lebih baik di negeri sendiri." Tapi patutkah kita terasa dibaling batu di negara sendiri?
A friend passed this video link to me through a group chat and when I first watched the video, I laughed quite loudly when she voiced what the different races are calling each other and thought she is a comedian who is talking about races to help people lighten up. The words used to describe the Chinese, Malays and Indians were indeed familiar to me when I was young. I myself had used some of those words to disparage a certain race among friends and also family out of an abundance of ignorance. Now I am so embarrassed at myself for taking race relations so lightly. Stereotyping can foster racial disunity and hate. I am glad my child is more open-minded than her mum. You are never too old to gain knowledge! Nandini, thank you for helping me open my eyes and show tolerance and understanding towards all races!
Amen. As a Eurasian, i wasn't treated any different. I was told that I was a Penjajah because am half British or Orang Puteh. And, very amazed, when I can speak Malay well. I was also called Orang Bosnia during the conflict in the 90s; and that was from my beloved aunt. Amen to all you've said.
We need to talk about it honestly and openly, that is what we need...No more isu sensitive... We all experience rasism just differently and we need to not normalise acts of rasism. I think that is our biggest problem of all these acts of rasism is normalise to a point I think that even the persons who committed these acts are unaware that it is wrong and have a harmful psychological effect on other people.
A very good topic to discuss. I dont know why we should have racism issues in our community. We should be proud because we living in multiracial cultural. But i believe not all people are racist. Its depend on the individual behaviour itself. I have seen a lot of chinese, indian & malay people be a good friend including myself.

They should be slaves instead.... I was heartbroken and I cried So much, still crying... I wish people put a stop to this...
Good job, Nandini. Recently watched a video, mentioning Islam has no place for racism, everybody is equal. Quite IRONY for Malaysia, who claim, it is an Islamic country, isn't it? We are all equal. Be kind, be honest to all. Love Malaysia and Malaysians.
Lagi satu, tolong la, rakyat Malaysia jangan la ada yg pergi luar negara cakap kat Malaysia ni racist. Canang kat luar negara, cari sokongan & publicity. Especially mat Salleh. Mereka tu kadang-kadang berfikiran extreme, mereka ingat racism kat Malaysia ni macam kat negara dia. Orang kena tembak. Kena bunuh. Orang kena buli kat jalanan sebab sesetengah bangsa tak suka. Kena ludah. Kena tarik tudung. Kena maki tak pasal-pasal. Kena attack. Dan sebagainya.
Thanks Nandini, what you've said is true. I don't really support racism. But somehow, sometime I may conciously or unconciously having racist thoughts or actions towards other races. So Im taking this time on behalf of myself and fellow Sabahan people, to apologize to all races in Malaysia for any racist acts or words we have done to you.
Nice topic. Teruskan biar sedar sikit mata dan hati org lain. asyik dilabel sbg Bangla bagai. Sekali tunjuk IC boleh pula ramah mesra. Pendapat sayalah kan, generasi terkini tiada Rasa racism tapi disebabkan old people plus adults punya perangai yg asyik label setiap kaum negatively. Sbb tu ianya jadi ikutan generasi sekarang.
True. It is especially difficult if the culture itself promotes colorism and discrimination based on things you don't choose. For example, my grandma who is an Iyer, refuse to associate in any way with Indians who are not same caste as her. And she taught the same to her children and grandchildren. Some of my cousins still refuse to eat with lower castes. I am ok with it but I don't tell my family if I eat with them. Later my family will make big fuss saying i am contaminated and impure...
Agreed with all your points. As a Malay, I'm kind of tired of hearing people of my race acting so entitled to everything just because of our race and treating other races like crap. What's worse is most of these people are orang kaya. Bukan perlu bantuan pun, cuma suka memintak. Does anybody have any tips on how to get my parents to stop using 'keling'? They don't really say it often but they get so offended when Indian people say that the word is offensive. I really don't get why they're so strong headed about it.

Interestingly, 2 months ago, when I was hunting for a room, I went view one. Surprised was I when I saw a large signboard written in front of the house, "Room for rent. Chinese only". This was a much needed topic to be raised...Many Malaysians are racists and feel its okey to be racist but no one speaks of it and its a topic mostly swept under the rug and never brought into discussions. Funny how Indians complain of racism when abroad when they themselves discriminate against the tribals in india and look down on them .
@@phadenswandemil4345 I did not say close all vernacular schools, I said close most. Racism doesn't only exist in Malaysia, but also around the world unfortunately... Educating the people is the key, especially the young. Being a Malay, I am certainly proud to call Nandini my "sister"... Huge respect.

@@brendanaeria9913 Yes so obvious

How dare you compare the racism in Malaysia to elsewhere when you know nothing about the country. Before commenting your should have read out constitution that places on race above others. Then, you could have gone on ti study the New Economic Policy that includes numerous laws that discriminate against 43% of the population. After that you could learn about the restrictions on religions other than Islam or investigated Putrajaya, a new city built to exclude non Muslims and to hide their very existence.
Now, tell me what other countries you had in mind "around the world".
We love our indian and chinese friends or even mix race friends. So many beautiful people in here. And yummy food. Even tourist want to retired in here. Malaysia is beautiful country. Because of beautiful people with different ethnics and race. Its not just a place but its a people. Alhamdulilah.
Maybe its not about what is out there but whats in here 💜😉😊
Bila kita x kenal style kaum lain, kita mungkin senang sakah faham. Cara org cina bila bertutur mmg nampak kurang sopan tapi mmg style mereka cara itu tapi saya tahu mereka xde apa apa niat buruk. Bila mereka cakap sesama sendiri pun sama je. Straight forward to the point tak de nak manis manis kan conversation. Every race has different style. India is easiest going. Steady. Mereka ok je dgn style mana mana. Senang adapt
Mostly Malay are racist can be notice by theirs behaviour and expressions they are good with tourist only for earning
1st thing that all Malay always ask are you muslim

@@Rajomega1 that can change to the "logic side" but can't be done alone, ma fren. True. It is especially difficult if the culture itself promotes colorism and discrimination based on things you don't choose. Some of my cousins still refuse to eat with lower castes. I am ok with it but I don't tell my family if I eat with them. Later my family will make big fuss saying i am contaminated and impure...
I feel you and sorry for what you been through. I totally been through same thing as you .
I was dark due to joining a lot of school sport activity when I was in Sekolah kebangsaan plus some more I’m Indian ,other kids always bully me and name call “keling” ,”bau Kari “ which made my self esteem down until I don’t want to go to school anymore or far more worse feel alone in a crowd . But now when I’m a little fair the society treat me differently and not as bad as when I was kid ,some don’t even believe me or ask me why am I fair for an Indian🤦🏻♀️ and your right the treatment are different based on racial .
Racism will never stop unless we unite together and create awareness about it !

Nah i'm a cashier..and I faced a lot racism and rude customer almost everyday..they talk shit about us infront of us..
if they don't like how we do they will complain a lot..some like to throw the things they buy at counter and ask us to packed their things quickly..some ask us rudely..pastu dgn mata pandang orang atas bawah🙄..
If we charge plastic bag they will complain lah..some like to talk bad infront of us with their own mother tongue ..(Walaupun kami x faham tapi kami tahu lah🌚)
I don't want to care what races are you from..I have met a lot of racist people and faced racism from every races..
I faced racism since primary school tho..kadang orang fikir kita buduh jadi mereka akan cakap buruk tentang kita dpn kita.. sedangkan kita tahu apa yg mereka katakan tapi cuma kita xdpt nak react Macam mana..
No need to compare who are more racist ..
Don't talk shit about other races lah..dan jngn dgr cakap sngt org tua yang memburukkan mana² bangsa..masa kecik kita mungkin ada di ajar benda yg x baik oleh keluarga kita x kisah lah sapa..
kadang kita membesar dgn apa yg kita dengar masa kecil..
Malaysia has racism..
But I want to tell you we are not the most racist country in the world btch..
why Ada manusia yg sangat buduh pergi percaya itu Google?🌚 Google kata Malaysia negara yg paling racist kepala hang☠️budak 10 tahun pon boleh buat web macam tu ler..
Kita mmnglah bnyk yg racist..kau patut bersyukur kita racist nih kebanyakan pakai mulut je.. perbuatan pon ada gak tapi xler bnyk..
Boleh compare kot ngr kita dgn ngr luar sana yg tgh banyak isu racism ..Kita nih racist pon xde nya kita tembak, bunuh orang yg lain bangsa dengan kita..
Example Aku melayu aku x suka bangsa z jadi aku pon bunuh bangsa z tu sbb menyampah x suka drng kat ngr aku..itu lain citer ler Beb..itu dah kes jenayah weh..
Kat luar ngr sana bnyk yg racist sampai pukul, bunuh, tolak, tembak tanpa sebab..kita nih patut bersyukur racist kita nih bnyk pakai mulut, media sosial je..
Sebab tu Malaysia nih mulut pedas Grr..jngn main² dgn orang Malaysia
Kalau kau jumpa org yg racist jngn bwk masuk campur bangsa mrk, xkesah dia bangsa apa sekalipun..x payah nak claim ooh dia racist jadi bangsa dia bnyk yg racist..
Dia racist pon itu mencerminkan diri dia sendiri..
Kita nih bnyk yg suka bergurau tapi kena jaga² sikit dgn perkataan kita..kena jaga sensitiviti agama dan kaum..jangan buat gurauan tentang agama mereka.. respect itu je yg penting..
Dan lagi satu..kau x suka jadi Malaysian..unmalaysian je diri kau sendiri x perlu nak cakap pasal buruk negara kau sendiri..kau fikir ngr kat luar sana tu rasa macam heaven ler Tu huh?..Setiap ngr pon ada masalah..hanya rakyat mereka sendiri je tau..
Kalau org luar ngr datang sendiri bercuti ke, menetap kat sini kau x payah nak acah baik sangat okyh aku gigit hang kang nanti..
Drng buat content pasal Malaysia drng suka dgn Malaysia dan tinggal kat sini..ada beberapa ekor khinzir kat ruangan comment..dok comment "not a great decision " " not a great decision to live here" kepala hang lah dia suka Malaysia suka hati dia ler..and not a great decision god created you puihh

It really boil down to the sort of family you come from. Politicians who are racists were raised in families whose culture influence their mindset and behaviour.
They just accumulated theirs karma
this is a long-overdue issue..I believe in equality to all so we can strive together as Malaysians..no matter what the politicians are trying to do..we as the people should show to the world we are not easily controlled or brainwashed by others who have hidden agenda.
It's not so easy since some culture does not value equality, and have some sort of superiority complex. omg...peninsulars are always like this. I remember there was a sarawak girl in class, this boy made fun of her like imitating climbing tree and blowing blowpipes.
When I continued my tertiary education in Kuala Lumpur, I recieved that kind of treatment too. One of guys asked if I used the sampan to come to West Malaysia and he proceeded to laugh and snort in between. Needless to say I was so offended and told my older sister about it. She said the next time anyone tries to belittle you in that manner, don't get angry but be sarcastic and say Yes we live on trees and when we want to watch tv we don't need antanaes or any satellite dish; we get instant tv coverage! And we swing from tree to tree when we need to move about; we don't need vehicles 🤪

yeah true. my dad is now a GM in a chinese company but once when he was a senior manager , his chinese assistant was paid higher than him :(
I experienced this when I was working in a resort. My Chinese office mates get paid higher basics than I get even we started job at the same time with same level of position. My Chinese friend, she could not agree with the managers discrimination towards us non Chinese and asked me and other Indian friend to go and see the manager. however the manager remained with his decision. He was racist..many of my work mates despites their races hates his discrimination
Yeah, I was the one who incharge for salary, that's how it work, they pay chinese more than malay even those chinese know nothing about works.. but those same chinese blame Malay for all the racism happen in Malaysia and act innocent which is so hypocrite.
some people say it's cuz chinese speak chinese and chinese hard so more pay and monehhh. idk i think it's wrong
Very well said, everything was laid-out like an open book. I grew up in a kampung with Malay and Serani neighbours and we were like a close-knit family, we (the kids) would come out and play every evening, I had some of my best childhood memories there.
Nowadays, most children are not educated on the subject of racism as it's considered a sensitive issue. I really hope your video will open the eyes of our Malaysians, we must change first in order to change others.
*_As an Arab/African who studied in Malaysia, I can confirm that the racism is too much there, it's really very sad. But we got used to it specially after knowing that even Malaysian are racist to each others in term of religion, race, tribe and province. Who would imagine a whole residential buildings and blocks forbidden Africans to enter. What a shame_*
Truuuuee😢😢most racist
Thank you Nandini and SAYS for bringing up this topic.

Kopitiam, mamak shop, chat house etc..etc... But now! Its like divided. Only one kind of group at one place. And when asked they were brought up that way. Its a bloody shocking to feel. Where are we leading to ???
No idea.
Your video is so great to view n points as well indeed. I always admire your hair style color ofcoz lipstick my friend. Awesome gile. Stand out!!!
Wic idiot commented your skin color. Tell em that only skin which got that tone its hard to get skin diseases. Not me saying, well known surgery n report experiment says. Google it up. I just love your skin tone. Solid one! Only expensive taste people knew it. Your are a Dark Angle my love! Kick those who buli you. Rascals.
Overall its best video from you n team. For us to overcome, its has to be individuals duty to practice it. Whenever talk about rasicm issue sure next will be religious matters steps in. Which is still a damn sensitivity in mindset for a such a country call third world to first world. Nonsence damn it !!!
Well my English is not perfecto as Nandini. You are rocking girl.
Last but not least, even in middle east they not as this fanatic as here so called multicultural Malaysia. Please get tuned. God bless all.
I'm feels really sorry for that, really aware on the bad situation we're facing .But just wanna said ,sincerely you're really beautiful ❤️
Sometime my friends make fun of others race little did t know i m not pure malay. Half indian and half arab
If you are half Indian and half Arab, how did the Malay bit come into the picture?
@@sallieceelee5660 granfather both mom and dad come from both country and some of us look malay some look mix like me some totally look foreigner like my mom and dad. And my both grandmother is malay.
Btw, aku melayu.. Housemate aku Chinese.. Dan Tuan Rumah Chinese... So greatful dorang baik.. 👍
Untung dia tulis prefer, kadang dia tulis bahasa cina terus, sepatah haram tak boleh baca oi 😂
Maybe sesetengah tuan rumah x nak penyewa makan or bela benda yg haram..kan kena samak
@@cikmeow2050 lol.. Xpayah letak perkataan "prefer" la senang. Ckp je xnak chinese menyewa kan senang.. Paham ke idok apa yg aku tulis kat atas tu?.. 🤦🏻♂️
@@manfredd36 bro.... Kalau kita compare "prefer" and "don't want" kan.... Prefer lgi lembut and baik tau....
@@Noshtyyy bukan masalah lembut tak lembut, masalahnya penggunaan perkataan prefer tu tak tepat.. Paham?.. Brooo?
These days the most common derogatory term i get called is ' bangla'. Some of the most neurotic people alive today are now in most current workplace. It doesnt help some are from rural areas/kampung, dont care la whichever ethicity, most dont want to mix.
I am so glad to see this video, I love you videos and your boldness, but this hits the top list. Thank you so much, those are the thing which some people kept in the heart and not dare enough to voice out. This is the step to change the way we think and act, knowingly and unknowingly.
Love you!
I am currently in school and I was blown out by my Islam friend who told me other religions (especially indians) her exact words, did not belong in this country and are Haram..
Love Malaysia and Malaysians.
sis, one word for you.... “semma semma” kudos sis... timely video
Lagi satu, tolong la, rakyat Malaysia jangan la ada yg pergi luar negara cakap kat Malaysia ni racist. Canang kat luar negara, cari sokongan & publicity. Especially mat Salleh. Mereka tu kadang-kadang berfikiran extreme, mereka ingat racism kat Malaysia ni macam kat negara dia. Orang kena tembak. Kena bunuh. Orang kena buli kat jalanan sebab sesetengah bangsa tak suka. Kena ludah. Kena tarik tudung. Kena maki tak pasal-pasal. Kena attack. Dan sebagainya.
Much love from Singapore! ❤❤❤
Im Peranakan & do see racism (no matter how subtle it is) here ... sad, very sad 🥺
Its being normalize in the society and thats what disgust me
Agreed with all your points.
Do your parents use 'keling' as an insult or because of habit? Like they have been raised that way.
What does orang kaya mean ?

@@neniironman3827 Regardless, if they don't like to be called that & want to be called as Indians you should respect their preference. Religion & race of others should be respected if you want yours to be respected too.
@@neniironman3827 If you're alright with people calling you keling that's on you, don't force others to follow what you do. Majority have decided they don't like it, they prefer to be referred to as Indians so why so badly want to call them anything else anyways? If a group of people told me they don't like a particular word used to call them I won't use it, just use what they're comfortable with. What's so hard?
Interestingly, 2 months ago, when I was hunting for a room, I went view one. Surprised was I when I saw a large signboard written in front of the house, "Room for rent. Chinese only". The lady pretended it wasn't there, so did I. Then I tried contacting owners of premises that advertised they only that want chinese, and they layan me eventough I wasn't one. Made me conclude, during this Covid season, many of such ownerd realised, $ is what they need, irregardless from which race it comes from. What hypocrisy!
Brought tears to my eyes. I have faced racism but at the same time... I jokingly call some people sakai and jakun not realising that they belong to our orang asli. Thanks nandini for pointing this out
Well said! I realised now, how much I was cornered due to my 'kulitification' during my school days. Unknowingly I lost my freedom of speech, begun to be a quiet person. I am talking about back in 80s. Destiny has made me to settle in different country in late 90s. I regained my confidence after that because of equal opportunity system here and people respecting your way, thinking and ideas regardless of your background. I am happy my children have no idea what is racism and they never experience it. Support you and your work. Bless you and do well :)
