It’s a great message video Nandhini 👍🏻 But I’m really tired with racism is going on in Malaysia 🙄 The only thing I can say work hard I mean work super hard guys
Saravana Rao especially the minority. No matter how many years or leaders go by, the minority will always struggle. The ones that are rich can migrate to a better country but the ones that cant, they have to struggle and keep struggling. That is the only way to stay alive in Malaysia
I’m mixed Indonesian and Chinese... and I can tell u that I’m facing that kind of discrimination since young. In school.. because I’m not PURE bred chinese, I don’t get that same treatment with my other chinese classmates. In the end I chose to work, with an European or American company because they looked at your qualifications and capabilities and not because of your race
Tbh when i see someone like u (half chinese myself) I always thought which side of your parent you lean more toward, because it can be ur non chinese parent is moslem and taught some insidious mindset that lead u to hate chinese. I saw it happen too many time here, Half chinese hate chinese to death.
@@mantapdjiwa9768 I'm half Chinese myself bro even grow ass man or woman know the different the insidious is you being Christian Muslim or Buddha have nothing to do with it
That's western people's minds set although certainly racist but not like our Asian minds set. Anyway you keep on doing good deeds return definitely good
We have too many useful idiots among the Malaysian-Chinese. The useful idiots are the chauvinists promoting Mandarin speaking. They had given the opportunity for the Ultranationalist ruling party to justify racial discrimination policies in the constitution of Malaysia way beyond the expiration date.
@fukthegoog people don't understand what they're facing right now, the west has failed, forget nuclear family, lets all become degenerates! these are some the things these bodoh brought here in hope their name would go down in history of revolution. cultural marxism is a tool for globalization, do not succumb to these pressure!
I faced this kind of situations many times. The worst part, interviewer ask the candidates, Do you have experience??? How to gain experience when you guys doesnt want to hire us.
Im an Indian from Chinese school, in fact my friends tell I speak better Chinese than bananasss but when I was looking for a rent house "Only Chinese ya although you can speak Chinese" 💆🏼♀️💆🏼♀️💆🏼♀️
You can try to negotiate you know. Stereotypes exist for a reason is because people in the past got hurt, con or whatever negative experience they encounter thus the impression is conjure to prevent oneself from going through that unpleasant feeling again. Is like you know that eating too much ice cream makes you sick, therefore your brain will make a mental note to tell yourself not to make the same mistake twice to avoid going through that. Same goes for this unreasonable terms and condition. People are just fed up with things thus the limitations. Is always easy to point out the problem but not the cause and reason behind it, if these issues are not address how is it possible for one to come up with a solution. It got to be 2 ways.
Being The worst I’m an Indian and I rented out my home to a Chinese and they messed up my house when they vacated it. I had to spend quite a bit to do it up before I put it up for rent again. Thereafter, I rented it to an Indian family and the house was in much better condition when they left. Point is...stereotyping does not necessarily reflect reality. There are bad apples in every race.
When i went to genting highlands the car broke down the indians came my mom said don't let them fix it just call the truck that fix your car but my stepfather no let them after at night already we don't have enough money then my mom pretend to call the police then they run off and chase us
Yeah thats the bitter truth. I still remember after I finish my 2 years intern, I join this construction company. I did all the work including site visit, supervising, and even presenting in a regional meeting from day 1 until I left the company a year after. Not to forget, the none of the meeting was in mandarin so I was quite surprise that the company stated that Chinese speaking is an advantage. Anyways, few months later comes this Chinese guy, act like casanova. From what the HR said, he have the same qualification as me but no experience. He should go for site work with me, but casanova prefer staying in the chill office. He did no meeting presentation, sitting like a kayu only. Acting like a boss. Come to site also act like boss, hands on the chest, asking stupid question, and after that asked me to rectify all the problems myself. Long story short, I found out that his salary was 1.5k higher than me. Oh yeah na ah, fuck it, I left the company. Well as a cycle of life as multi racial country in malaysia, the company took another malay kuli like me. And who took the credit? U know the drill. 😁
I'm a Malaysian, Chinese girl who had working for almost 8 years. (Study in National primary school and national secondary school) Nandini, I absolutely agree with your opinions. Some of the sh*t employers is unfair and bias. I want to point out another stereotype of Chinese : 1) Chinese is rich - NO, I'm not rich, I came from a normal family. 2) Chinese is hardworking - IT IS depends. Not every Chinese is hardworking, some of them are very good in "tai chi" kung fu (job delegation), best in pretending as a fool. I have former colleague, a Chinese girl who is expert in "tai chi" kung fu. Even my boss and lady boss didn't dare to warn her, because she knew "CHINESE". Another supervisor Chinese man in my company, he is excel in hiding somewhere to smoke and watching 1 EP of Hong Kong dramas during working hour. 3) Chinese is excel - IT depends. Not every Chinese is "pandai". This is based on my own experience.

Almost a year's in that time I did not get a better job and I walk in more than 50 interview.. At last I get a job in one Chinese company last year even though there's countable Indian people working there & less benefits but still I am happy that I have job to proceed my career.. so I am thankful for that and the rest if you're jobless don't waste ur time keep on applying to all the jobs sure one u will get the job u want ❤ #Keeptrying #Godbless

I dont know what exactly happened, chinese in Thailand fluent to speak Thai, chinese in Philippine fluent to speak Filipino, chinese in Indonesia fluent to speak Indonesian, chinese in Japan fluent to speak Japanese, chinese in Vietnam fluent to speak Vietnamese. But chinese in Malaysia, ... you know la, why
- Small children own better language-learning aptitude than adults and teens. - How to be fluent in a language? Know the grammar, language structure, and wide vocabulary and the most important thing is SOCIALIZE WITH NATIVE SPEAKER. That is where we got it wrong, we separate our children in their early age. The effect? During their SMK days, they even avoid to socialize with other races.
@@asyhraf6304 indeed is true. Onced i entered an SMK that are majority indians amd chinese. Malays not much bcause that area has many indians and chinese. And most of them are from SJKC, SJKT. Yes, Chinese language has play an important role in business world nowadays. Especially when China became 2nd largest economy market in the world. In MNC companies where half of the counterparts (client/supplier) is Chinese speaking. Employers prefer Chinese speaking employee simply because Chinese language has the economic value itself. Haters gonna continue to hate, it won't change anything. That's current market trend.

There is a reason why they need mandarin speakers. The work area have a lot of Chinese that's why they need mandarin speakers. Some Chinese don't know how to speak malay or English well. That's why they need mandarin speakers just to make it simple and with no hassle to carry on their jobs. (ps i am referring to mandarin speakers not chinese, Indian, or malay race)

Unfortunately I’m living here in malaysia. I’ve been experiencing toooooo muchhh racism!!! And just got fired because I’m Indonesian and not white. Oh not to forget that many schools rejected me and explicitly told me off that I’m not white (so I can’t teach English in malaysia). Haha dekat kilang pulak diorang hire jadi process manager walaupun background dia IT 😂 yang paling tak tahan, dia tak tahu pape process then buat kemaih depan customer. dan paling paling tak tahan bukan sorang, tapi 3-4 orang. engineer sampai naik botak bila tanya manager, manager cakap tak tahu. last2 engineer kena solve sendiri, yang manager jalan2 buat2 busy kat kilang sebab nak wayang 😂 kalau camni baik engineer je jadi manager, diorang tu menyemak. hmm anyway, tu laa padahnya hire depa sebab bangsa, bukan sebab knowledge and skills.
Throw back to few years ago when I get an intern... The first question that my supervisor asked me is... 'Do you speak Mandarin?' I thought this is a bloody racist question, but after few weeks I realized that Mandarin is fxxking important for a company nowadays? WHY? Can you imagine a company doing the Proton car spec need to discuss with China company... All the contract are fully-Mandarin, and the manager who contacting with you only speak Mandarin... I saw my Malay colleagues are hired to do the translation between Mandarin and English contract and the funniest stuff is... they use Google translate, and you know how 'accurate' are the result when you straight away translate the whole sentence from Mandarin to English. In conclusion, I do agree that people shouldn't hire somebody to do a work based on their races... however, that's not wrong if the company requires 'Speak Mandarin/understand Mandarin' for some specific case, because we all know that how efficient that the work can be done if you understand both languages.
" that's not wrong if the company requires 'Speak Mandarin/understand Mandarin'' this will not be an issue if Chinese is an official language of Malaysia, and made mandatory to be learned by all, it isnt the case. Thus it specificaly puts a certain group of people at advantage and that's discriminatory.

Preach sisters...but in the sector government there are lots of indian and chinese...hey I'm malay and i do admit that chinese are hardworking and if i were to take somebody to work I would probably take them...malay does had advantages when it comes to government sector but nowadays there are many more indian amd chinese workers in that public sectors working as teachers and many more...standard racism does exist but if we wanted to open up their shallow mind we needed to show our values and stand up for ourselves proving that we were not what they think...
What you're saying is very true. Meanwhile, in the teaching sector, there are many non Malays. But try going to a government office, like UTC or any other government services office. The officers are overwhelmingly Malay and there's probably like one or two Indians and Chinese. This is based on where I live in JB. At the southern border, the main cause of traffic jam is the laziness of the immigration officers. The Malaysian CIQ complex is much bigger and modern than Singapore yet there's only ONE counter out of TWELVE is open ON A WEEKEND!! While the people are waiting in frustration, you could see a lot of officers walking around, laughing and just lepak outside the counters. They say not enough people but a lot of my non bumi friends and relatives got rejected because quota penuh. As a result, I see many Malaysian Indians and Chinese working at woodlands CIQ. Sg customs is much smaller but how come their side clear only? The same number of cars going in and out of sg and JB. I want to ignore the stereotypes but they keep proving over and over that these stereotypes are, indeed true.

I am mixblood half Malay and half Chinese. I actually have a hard time on making friends since I was in high school 🏫 sometimes I don't understand like everytime at school I will saw Malay only with Malay, Chinese only with Chinese and Indian only with Indian and I was like how am I suppose to join them? I still remember everytime during recess, my Chinese friend will keep their distance and start ignoring me and leave me alone just because I'm wearing tudung while when I friends with Malay most of them cannot accept that I am half Chinese they always said my face and my tudung look freaking weird and tell me not to speak mandarin with my Chinese friend and I was like why you need to be so shit? I'm like...this is Malaysia right? That's why until now I still hard to find any friends sometimes I feel like am I an alien? Like I don't belong to this country? Like am I wrong for not being Chinese or being Malay? I'm not trying to complaining or be rasict but this is the truth fact. However I still believe that there's are still many good people out there who are not racist. Everyone is equal.
after working in multiple countries and now in malaysia my advice to all malaysians - u r one of the nicest people i have met anywhere in the world, u dont get angry, u rarely honk in big jams, have great food, good climate, awesome jungles, u smile always and have kind manners.....but when i see realities of the job market its like a bipolar personality....please make it mandatory for every kid to go to a secular school. this separatism starts from childhood. all over the world its become normal for kids from all races to go to a common school. its only in malaysia where this issue is so stark. good on u nandini....there is racism everywhere around the world....but its not stark and open as it is over here. ...only solution to these issues is to find sectors of high growth like IT/A.I./Electric energy etc where malaysia could take a lead and ppl of all races will galvanise towards where the money flows from.....until that happens this race shit gonna replay itself...
Im a malaysian chinese, not chinese malaysian, there is a difference. I am also an individual who do not advocates racism. Do not interpret my words as such. I also do not support people who advocates racism. I am not defending malaysian chinese, Nor any race. Allow me to recount my experience, (language) When it comes to indians, malay or chinese, When the job description requires mandarin speaking. It only means that the job requires people who can communicate in mandarin. I have seen indians who can speak mandarin are employed and those who are malaysian chinese who cant speak mandarin are not not employed. I used to have a friend name Amir, be mindful, he was a young malay boy i know in kindergarden, he can communicate in mandarin. I reiterate here, it is a job requirement. No racism here. During my parent's time, 30 years ago, the *INDUSTRY* requires english speaking people, not many people are educated as such. Why does the industry requires such people? Because there are foreign investors which we categorize it as foreign investment into the country and they speak english. If there are Japanese investors, then japanese is required, If there are chinese investors, then???? mandarin is required. SO.... let me makes this clear... no racism. it is a job requirement. (work ethics) I have work in factories to office and site works. My recounting experience with people who are racially indians, was not/some are/above my expectations. Bare in mind, this is attributed to education and the level of commitment to carry out the job/ responsibilities. This is my experience, when i assign work to indian technicians, especially the old ones, i get a million excuse. a lot of story telling. unrelated to the work. claiming low pay and what not. If that was the case, they *HAD* the opportunity to negotiate on the price from the *BEGINNING* before the paper is sign. It applies to everyone. TWO PARTY BASED SYSTEM IN NEGOTIATION. when you sign that paper, you agree to the terms, think very carefully because it is a life changing situation. So the way i look at it, reluctance to carry out the work. I have gone as far as to provide support in technical knowledge, planning, morale support and couple of others which are considered quite lenient in my methods in executing the job. So yes.... in essence, (I in this section would refer to as a person running the business and not me....) if i would have have 10 applications, all of it within the said amount of planned budget time, all of it are indians, then only 1 qualify for the job. the other 9 , we wish them the best. nothing can be done about it. If i would have 10 applications in 1 week but i can afford for another 2 months of waiting period, to which more applications to the job are handed,it is a decision made not by you but the person who have decided to be patient to allow better options. hypothetically speaking 300 applications, with a large segment of the 300 application, are predominantly racially malays, followed by chinese, followed by indians, then your shot at getting the job is nothing to do with race base, it would be on your skill, and budget allowed. (Culturally)(I as in this is me) From my observation, in school and especially in school.... i have seen indian kids... flirting with girls wasting their time not developing their potential. Wish i could enjoy my childhood. Culturally, chinese are very strict with education. Not so much can be seen on the indians. I have undergo, strict punishment if i dont do well. of which, i dont see my indian friends undergoing such torment. Doubt you can sense my unfairness. When it comes to exam, the chinese out performs the indians in the same class, with the same teachers, with the same amount of homework, with the same amount of every single measurement put to the test. To measure the child's potential and behaviour in knowledge acquiring and the mindset to finish their work... homework.... because when these kids grow up, work given, work... must be completed. If not... the penalty will be there. So mind you... indians or malay or chinese,.... it starts at home.....Like it or not. that is your problem. I lost a good amount of years of childhood, not many happy moments. Can you pay that back? I have known an indian teacher in high school. which he has a son, in the same school, in the same class as me. One day that indian teacher decided to take us all out, sit on the pavement in the Dewan, and a chair in front, all of us... including his son. That indian teacher ask one question, What phase of matter is in the gas tank found in the kitchen? No one answered, not even the rest of the chinese, not even malay, especially not the indians... that son included. Except me.... i answered liquid, should it be gas, it does store as much and it would not last as long. Should it be solid, then when the valve opens nothing flows. THe best answer is liquid. The indian father got a shocked, his son was in the same class as me... unable to answer the question that he himself put forth. Well articulated for a Form 1 student, 13 years of age. Bare in mind.... i dont give a shit. I get beatings,...for not performing well. What ever happen to that indian boy and his father after leaving the school and the job, i hope they can find a better future. As much hate i have, is till wish them the best. Ah... i forgot to mention... that indian boy that i mention, also bully me. Because he is socially accepted, but for those who are focus on education, they are not so socially accepted. quiet, timid, shy... name it all. Fear. (Past, Present , future) If i received an amount of stress that are not favors by me, if that individual so happen to be an indian. Bless you all.... all indians are to be subjected under the stereotype, and using the word stereotype is not even accurate. If the situation comes from a malay, it will be malay. If the situation comes from a chinese, it will be chinese. As i have been thought, those who dont learn history, are condemn to repeat it. So i have... if anyone makes a decision, then you only have to blame your own culture. If your parents did it, then it only means your children will also be subjected to it. When making choice, you get to choose, who is it that you feel should help you achieve better success. When it comes to the decision maker, you have either in agreement, negotiate, or back out. (money) Alright... you did mention that to hire the best person fit for the job. As i detailed earlier, a person who makes the decision is also inclusive of such. Not limited to.... Money... is a form of budget, if it was budget that much, that much it is. A person being hired for the job would only last as much as the budget holds. Unless it was convince that the budget requires extension. Once the job is done, is done. Money management is a separate matter, If it requires a person to carry out the job for 10 years, versus 2 weeks, who would you choose? How much would you pay? (money and expectations) Now this is even more painful, as i have detailed above, expectations is based on historical data. If you are found to be not so cooperative, others will be made aware. There are only so many.... chances... im not saying opportunity ... im saying tolerance. Berapa banyak peluang mahu kita beri, sampaikan kerja boleh siap dalam masa yang di setuju? If the job is not completed, the person who gave that money, feels that he/she was cheated. Agree? If that person is a foreigner? If that person is local? How would that person feel? Especially when that person put in his/her last rm100 into the investment... You see? (It is not racism) It is feelings of being sideline for too long. It is a measurement that even private, public, financial institutions, government, and many other organisations have no idea how to deal with. You are not alone. Even I could not even get a job in retail, and the retail are run by chinese.
I'm an indian... i worked in a fully owned Chinese company.. i dont face any problems at all. When i was in college.. even majority are malays. Yet i still get what i deserved.. Moral of the story. Its got nothing to do with Race/Religion.. Its how u market yourself and what "Value" u bring to the table... nothing comes east in life. U need to prove your worth. Tq
You (Nandini) should be introduced to a new term that is ethnocentrism .. the feeling of a race that they are only the bagus one, & othes are not bagus - the problem
@Papyrus Okagbue oh yeah? Since when telling the truth became racism. She only talked about stereotypes about all the races in malaysia. Orang macam kau la yg sengaja comment sengaja nak trigger racism. 5:15 stop justifying or she'll baling selipar at you
My school ceo is Indian and they only hire mostly Indian teachers; even imported directly straight from India despite their language barrier (and accent are making us having hard time understanding bc they are very native Indian) and teaching skill aren’t that good . Truth is, everyone Is racist towards everyone , not just chinese , not just Malay, not just Indian. The Malays are discriminating chinese. Like come on don’t tell me they don’t bc they do treat Chinese differently. Not everyone do this ofc . But just putting it out here . Not only Chinese or not only Malay or not only Indian is racist. APPARENTLY EVRYONE IS . haven’t even talk abt the subject of halfies where you ain’t fully anything.
Ah...kita ni benar2 saudara kembar yg terpisah, masalah sosial sama saja. Rasisme, ughhhh.... Kami pun ada stereotypes sama tentang ras di Indonesia. Saya tinggal di Sumatra wich is "The Malay Area" of Indonesia, majority of the pop. in my city is Malay, and I'm Malay. Eventho we are the majority, stereotypes pun tetap bertahan, Malay equal lazy Bahkan saya ada kenalan, Malay jg, tapi dia give the job pada org Jawa yg memiliki stereotypes hard working, dan dia berfikir kalau Malay pemalas, EVENTHO HE HIMSELF IS MALAY Tapi kami ada sedikit perbedaan stereotypes org India dan Cina, kalau di sini India digambarkan lbh positif, serangkan Cina digambarkan positif tapi memiliki sifat licik, wich is bad right? Tapi saya tak pandang teman dari rasnya, semua saya temankan, Malay, Javanese, Indian, Chinese, Arab, Bugis, ALL!
How about talking on how minorities are sidelined ? I am in an industry that hires all races and I am not a racist ! I would prefer all races speak English as it's an international language
respect to u.. it’s so true. dulu kerja dgn company org cina, gaji sikit tp kt org sebangsa dia bukan main gaji 2x ganda.. padahal jawatan & skop kerja yg sama je.. ada 3 lg pkerja melayu pon terima nasib yg sama.. then, bisnes dia dh xbrp nk up, dr 6 kedai yg besar dh tgl 3 je itupon size dh kecil.. bini owner yg dulu mjeling smp nk juling sekrg ni i pndg mcm ‘sorry, do i know u ?’.. mls nk lyn geng racist ni
I’m from Indonesia. I’ve read some of the comments in which the malay and the chinese still being stubborn with their own views. I am as an outsider ( don’t mean to intervene ) think that you guys should let go your egos and start to integrate with one another for a better malaysia. Well at least that’s what we do here in Indonesia, we give up our own ego and start to integrate as an Indonesian regardless of race, here we identify ourself as Indonesian, and only Indonesian, and all of us can at least speak two languages which is Bahasa Indonesia our National Language and local language, even there are some who can speak up to 3 or 4 languages. But still everyone here can speak Bahasa Indonesia fluently because We think that’s the way we can integrate with one another, our “Sumpah Pemuda” ( you can look up in google ) really did good job in uniting us.
Well, atleast I wish I could baling my selipar ataupun terompah aruah moyang aku yg half chinese, malays, arabian, and Indian at those racist company and goverment for over doing this to all of us, even I'm half malays, most of my keturunan are from malays and I didn't even give a frickin support on this crap, this is Malaysia, malay's peoples land, and it has its own historys, we should spread peace upon another, not a racistsm against another race. We are all human beings. Edit:sorry if there was a wrong present tense or grammar, I just not good at it is because I study a lot of arabic subject is because I study at Arabic school. *SORRY NOT SORRY* I just mad when I heard this problem again.
Went to penang a while back with a group of friends (we're all malays). One of the girls in our group was horribly terrified of indian men. Every time she would see one nearby she would ask us to quickly lock the car doors or move away from there. I was confused why she was so scared bcs i never heard of the stereotype of Indians being gangsters. It was really sad to see how ignorant some people can be
I’m 15 and i went to school by using school bus and I’ve experienced how malay do their work vs Chinese The malay one he did not take me to school on tine and made me came to school late and sometimes even ask parents to deliver their own child because he has personal problem😡he didn’t even give back my mother’s deposit and went missing until now The Chinese bus driver if he can’t fetch us he will arrange another guy to come pick us up instead of asking my parent to take me home just because he has personal problem,he is even willing to fetch me even if I have extra class at school which is different from the malay guy Malay mindset-money is more important than quality of work Chinese mindset-quality is more important than money

Seriously this video helped soo much! I’m an African American, and my boss is a white man, he put me on the hardest heavy work, to work by myself today, ment for a man. Another boss who is Hispanic allowed 3 men to take over what I was doing and I was allowed to go work less heavy work. Even my coworkers wondered why I was sent to work the heavy stuff. And I’m new! I heard my boss is racist, and he very much is! He try’s to over power me, and make me afraid of him considering my so tiny and short compared to him, and I’m a black women!
I’ve had worst bosses, I guess it comes with working in corporate America. I’m at peace with my current boss. I’m nice to my boss, and I treat him like I treat everyone else. Jesus loves him so I love him. I don’t try to get an eye for an eye. Hoping that my kindness will break through his hatred.
I am of malay, chinese and indian descent. I somehow get outcasted by all those groups and end up making friends with other mix kids. Anyways, I approve this message.
OMG Nandini..:Love your speech and your lipstick so much.I'm sure some of the racists' employers are looking at you up and down now.Hahahaha..BTW,good job Says #Nandini #whereiszaidi #says
But the stereotype still persists because the quota/additional perks for malays/bumi still exists. For scholarships, for anugerah, then for jobs. This sets the mindset for Indian and Chinese people to be more competitive. If people are more likely to choose Chinese over Indian,, memang racist la. Cause both usually very hardworking 😂 Malays and bumis however, sorry to say la, majority lembap. I'm bumi myself so I'm not trying to be racist to myself, just how it is. Not saying all are like that, but most tunggu kena suap, kerja slow, tiada mindset mau improve diri.. Asal show up. Wish there is no quota, biar everyone compete fairly, then you'll see a change in attitude. Just my two cents.
Nandini, you spoke with honesty and weren't afraid to rock the boat... Being the minority means you'd have to work twice as hard...with love from sg...
Well said. U r right.. They indirectly saying that only Chinese to be hired..REQUIREMENTS : MANDARIN SPEAKER /MANDARIN Language is an added advantage. Not only that some job vacancy AD in reputable sites are even fully in Chinese except for the Title. So indirectly they only can hire their race. I'm not saying all Chinese company like that...but mostly like that... 30/3 today I have been scolded by HR because they say why during Friday your lunch time almost 2hours and 30 minute....I say because of I eat lunch and Jumaat prayer....the Chinese HR ask me to be on office at 2.00pm...(Jumaat prayer always change time....thats why sometimes I come at office about 2.15ish... so next time...I can only go out not for lunch..but for praying only.....how sad...I'm gonna resign soon.

It’s a great message video Nandhini 👍🏻
But I’m really tired with racism is going on in Malaysia 🙄

I’m mixed Indonesian and Chinese... and I can tell u that I’m facing that kind of discrimination since young. In school.. because I’m not PURE bred chinese, I don’t get that same treatment with my other chinese classmates.
In the end I chose to work, with an European or American company because they looked at your qualifications and capabilities and not because of your race
Wow that's some serious matter of these chinese racisms.
Tbh when i see someone like u (half chinese myself) I always thought which side of your parent you lean more toward, because it can be ur non chinese parent is moslem and taught some insidious mindset that lead u to hate chinese.

I faced this kind of situations many times. The worst part, interviewer ask the candidates, Do you have experience??? How to gain experience when you guys doesnt want to hire us.
This a catch 22 dilemma.

@Being The worst you one idiot racist fuck.
@Being The worst Maybe they scared he will waste water instead of tissue paper.. hygienic..lol

I hope you are fine
I'm a Malaysian, Chinese girl who had working for almost 8 years. (Study in National primary school and national secondary school)
Nandini, I absolutely agree with your opinions. Some of the sh*t employers is unfair and bias. I want to point out another stereotype of Chinese :
1) Chinese is rich - NO, I'm not rich, I came from a normal family.
They don't care if you are rich or poor. As long you are not Malay, forget about it. Umno 2.0 will not change. Keep dreaming.

I’m an Indonesian and I’m qualified English teacher. Got my master degree in top 5 uni in the UK. But my qualification is genuinely useless here in malaysia. Also they said that the immigration gov wouldn’t even look at my visa app once they notice I’m Indonesian. I live in many other countries before but never ever seen racism this massive!

I'm glad this topic is discussed here without any sugar coating... The world need to know what the Real Malaysia is all about
Throw back to few years ago when I get an intern...
The first question that my supervisor asked me is...
'Do you speak Mandarin?'
I thought this is a bloody racist question, but after few weeks I realized that
Mandarin is fxxking important for a company nowadays?
You're right. This is what most of them don't understand the nature of the work.
I USED TO WORK IN A BANK. SERVICE & OPERATION SIDE. HARI2 BUKA ACCOUNT TERMASUK SALARY ACCOUNT. TO OPEN AN ACCOUNT, THEY HAVE TO BRING THEIR OFFER LETTER TO THE BANK. BELOW THING HAPPENS EVERYDAY. :. aku punya pengalaman bekerja dengan semua bangsa..dulu pernah aku berkerja dengan satu company cina..boss dia amat lah baik...aku orang melayu atau non Chinese pertama kerja situ..so awkward bila meeting boss aku bersungguh untuk semua cakap bahasa melayu atau English..tp yg sad nye..semua college aku langsung xendahkan aku..sebab dorang akan tetap cakap mandarin..lepas 3bulan kerja..aku slowtalk dengan boss nak berhenti..sebab no point aku kerja dengan environment macam ni..aku tak salahkan boss aku.tapi aku berterima kasih dengan dia sebab bg aku peluang..just workers lain x boleh nak suit dengan aku sebab masalah komunikasi..lagi satu kes, mase aku interview bak masok askar..dalam tu ade lebih kurang 30-50 yg datang interview..lepas dr tapisan tu aku gagal sebab ade anggota badan aku yg pernah patah..same case dengan 3orang budak india..tp dorang dapat serap masok askar..so aku xkecil hati, then aku tanya pegawai yg kat situ..kenapa dorang lepas tapi aku tak lepas..pegawai jawab sebab kekurangan non malay yg sertai tentera,so dorang longgarkan syarat pada non malay..aku faham dan move on..kadang2 aku sedih sikit sebab banyak fact yg cakap badan beruniform ni just pilih bumiputra je..tp fakta nye..mmg non malay kurang nk berkhidmat dalam sektor tu sebenarnye..
sekarang aku kerja dengan syarikat melayu, dalam syarikat aku..aku ade maneger dr kalangan cina,melayu,india..dalam servis aku ade malay,sabahan,sarawakian..
point yg aku nak bgtau just masih ade lagi orang yg tak rasist..tp semakin berkurangan kalau kita masih termakan dengan propaganda media sosial, atau politik....

Totally agree with u sista! Stay strong n spread love among us... we malaysian as one!

after working in multiple countries and now in malaysia my advice to all malaysians - u r one of the nicest people i have met anywhere in the world, u dont get angry, u rarely honk in big jams, have great food, good climate, awesome jungles, u smile always and have kind manners.....but when i see realities of the job market its like a bipolar personality....please make it mandatory for every kid to go to a secular school. this separatism starts from childhood. all over the world its become normal for kids from all races to go to a common school. its only in malaysia where this issue is so stark. good on u nandini....there is racism everywhere around the world....but its not stark and open as it is over here. ...only solution to these issues is to find sectors of high growth like IT/A.I./Electric energy etc where malaysia could take a lead and ppl of all races will galvanise towards where the money flows from.....until that happens this race shit gonna replay itself...
I'm cina but I got good friends indian, sin, malay !

Well said Nandhini 👌 100% fact., frustrated with slogan “prefer Chinese” 🤦♀️
Im a malaysian chinese, not chinese malaysian, there is a difference.
I am also an individual who do not advocates racism. Do not interpret my words as such.
I also do not support people who advocates racism.
I am not defending malaysian chinese, Nor any race.
Allow me to recount my experience,
(language)
When it comes to indians, malay or chinese, When the job description requires mandarin speaking.
If there are Japanese investors, then japanese is required,
If there are chinese investors, then???? mandarin is required.
SO.... let me makes this clear... no racism. it is a job requirement.
(work ethics)
I have work in factories to office and site works.
So yes.... in essence, (I in this section would refer to as a person running the business and not me....)
if i would have have 10 applications, all of it within the said amount of planned budget time, all of it are indians, then only 1 qualify for the job. the other 9 , we wish them the best. nothing can be done about it.
(Culturally)(I as in this is me)
From my observation, in school and especially in school.... i have seen indian kids... flirting with girls wasting their time not developing their potential.
Fear.
(Past, Present , future)
If i received an amount of stress that are not favors by me, if that individual so happen to be an indian.
(money)
Alright... you did mention that to hire the best person fit for the job.
(money and expectations)
Now this is even more painful, as i have detailed above, expectations is based on historical data.
You see?
(It is not racism)
It is feelings of being sideline for too long. It is a measurement that even private, public, financial institutions, government, and many other organisations have no idea how to deal with.
You are not alone. Even I could not even get a job in retail, and the retail are run by chinese.
Nandhini Sis your speach today fabulous!! Very useful for Malaysian!! Thank you!! Do more videos!!

Totally agree with you 👍 stop being racist...
Nandini, you spoke with honesty and weren't afraid to rock the boat... Being the minority means you'd have to work twice as hard...with love from sg...
I am Indian in Malaysia. I couldnt agree more with the unadulterated truth this video conveys.
Well said. Something like u put there Only BUMIPUTERA ..who said Malay are the racist ???looks like the Non Malay are far more disgusting racist and telling other race is racist and dominating. My experiences in Job Searching for the past one year. 😠😠😠
nie aku setuju. eventhough my manager is malay, dan aku melayu. She always support the only one chinese executive in my work place. tk prnh kene marah. kami yg lain ne keje macam taik susah pyh, balik rumah kaki dah mcm sotong, dia goyang kaki gaji besar. aku staff bwhan ne bkn nak gaji bangsa lain. tiap2 tahun tk dpt cuti raya, sbb sume melayu dan kedai x boleh tutup langsung 365day. keje full day, overtime memanjang nk buat sales kencang. Pasal kakitangn kerajaan ini paling betul susah betul berurusan dgn diorg, siap keluar memo jgn bertindak kasar thdp kakitangn diorg di hospital n bsn, bygk emergency room kene layan diri. dok kat kaunter sepatah haram pun tak layan bile org datang tgk screen komputer. buat tak tau.

This is currently my working experience....I work at ***** which is a Chinese company... I stalk their highest position worker(that are chinese) information.... shockingly...they only have spm qualification...but sadly workers that have lower position like cashier/clerk ...have diploma/bachelor or any higher qualification....as long you're chinese without any higher qualification...you can apply work easily...
Because some of the high position people are boss' or ladyboss relatives.
If possible, try to find a company which have the less of "relatives" working in the same company.

Well Said Nandhini, I too experienced this problem a lot because i'm indian. oohhh susah nak dapat kerja berdasarkan kemahiran senang dapat kerja berdasarkan warna kulit.
Agree 100%. Good job nandhini & Says for highlighting this.
"Excuse me, that one fiction, your life non fiction. " (Nandini, 2019) Reality check, everybody 😂😂😂
Uol alrdy be given the opportunity to stay in malaysia nicely..sadly in the gap between... Still post those kind oF rasis job advert. So sad. If the minority do this at china.. LOL.. Sure die.
So true
Those chinese should acknowledge the fact that they hanya menumpang
It's not about that, back then they are but now they're part of the citizen and a part of Malaysia itself. It's just that "Some of them think they could own it".
Good one Nandhini. Indians in Malaysia should work harder rather than expecting others to help. Being self-sufficient is a virtue.
EXACTLY Nandhini! Thanks for bringing this up! Its really annoying when applying for Jobs!
