If you liked this you will love Thin Lizzy 'Live and Dangerous' double album recorded in 1978'ish and is Lizzy at their peak. One of the best all time live Hard Rock albums. This is a period were the bands still had diverse musical influences in their songs. Lizzy had alot of different things playing into their writing. Sucidie is on there as well but is slightly different to this version. Thin Lizzy hugely influential on bands from Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden to Metallica. And as a bonus they were Irish so they would join you having that whiskey and yes thats whiskey with 'e' . 😎
Funny story told by Robbo (guitarist in black top). This was a big homecoming gig for Thin Lizzy in Dublin, and Philomena Lynott (Bassist Phil's Mom)was quite rightly proud of the band. However she was not too enamoured by Robbo's hairstyle at time and grabbed his head and put it under the kitchen tap and then proceeded to use some Fairy Liquid Dish washing liquid on his head, hence the mess on Robbo's head in this video.
I loved Thin Lizzy when i was younger. The voice of Phil Lynott is amazing and music style is a mix of hardrock and blues. Your reaction shows me, you enjoyed the song :) They have published some great songs, not only "The boy are back in Town".
@@sabina1118 Yes, but regrettably too many (even more sophisticated) rock / metal listeners think Thin Lizzy is limited on hits like Boys are back in Town and Whiskey in the Jar.
My brother who’s a guitarist is playing in the band with Thin Lizzy drummer & founder Brian Downey :) I actually saw them live in Dublin last weekend and had a pleasure to seat with Mr.Brian :) They’re called now “Brian Downey’s ALIVE AND DANGEROUS” and they perform all the songs from Thin Lizzy famous life album “Live & Dangerous” . Absolutely amazing live album!
So awesome to see you react to this amazing band! Thin Lizzy is up there as one of my all time favorites. Phil Lynott (vocalist and bassist) was truly one of a kind. So many great songs😊. You’re in a for a DEEP rabbit hole of phenomenal music Sabina with this group🤗
Lizzy were a groove oriented guitar driven band like so many back in the day, ZZ Top, Robin Trower, Zep, Purple, et all. Small pools of massive talent. The list is endless. Happy trails!
Greetings and Love from Köln/Cologne, Germany. Awe, Thin Lizzy...Phil Lynott (r.i.p) great Bass player and unique singer from Ireland. Also from Ireland, Gary Moore, the most underatet guitar player ever. He left Thin Lizzy and started his own solo carrier. First years in Heavy Metal, in the mid eighties he change his style more into Irish Folk Melodic Metal.( in Tribute of his close friend Phil Lynott who past away too young in 1986). That's when i saw Gary live here in Germany. In 1989. My very first Concert. A life changing expirience for me. Unbelieveable and unforgetable. For me the most talented guitarist by far. 1990 he change again his style and played the 'Blues' and became one with his instrument. He died 2011 in Spain. A heart attack while he was asleep. R.I.P. I've loved Thin Lizzy since th 70s - came here because "THIN LIZZY" on your video title caught my eye. Love your reaction - confirmed you have great taste. Blues Brothers is also one of my top 3 favourite films - great music and classic ccomedy performances from Dan Ackroyd and John Belushi. New subscriber !!!
Thank you, you picked the best version of this track! Too often people on RUclips pick the wrong versions of a Thin Lizzy song, or one of better known Thin Lizzy songs, which aren't always among the best Thin Lizzy songs. The slightly underrated band has a pretty broad stylistic range.
This is the classic Lizzy line=up with the famous dual lead guitars of Brian [Robbo') Robertson who was just 17 when he joined the band and the American Scott Gotham with the long hair. I worked for a time at ther rehab in England where Phil went in for a time but sadly had to be taken to hospital locally where he died. A wonderful band bedevilled by the usual excesses of rock and roll.
The track "Suicide" was originally performed by Thin Lizzy when guitarist Eric Bell was still in the band, including on a BBC broadcast recorded in July 1973. Lizzy are better known with the dual guitarists Scott Gorham and Gary Moore. I saw this band at the Reading music festival way back in 1977/8…they were a bit special then with their particular brand of rock music. Sadly drug abuse took Phil Lynot away from the musical world. Musically they were in a class of their own and gained a loyal fan base as well as the respect of fellow artists. Live and Dangerous is for me their finest album. This early track was a forerunner of what was to come. A ‘groovy’ reaction Sabina to what is and always will be a fine song.
i am a bug Lizzy fan, and Gary Moore fan….. but you have to be realistic, Gary’s contribution to the body of Lizzy’s work is not as significant (volume wise) as the other line ups. Phil mentioned in an interview that he loved collaborating with Gary, but they couldn’t work in a band together for any length if time. Scott Gorham everyone seems to forget but hell he’s been there the longest (with Downey) and helped shape the Lizzy sound. Sabrina: yeah drugs and rock n roll lifestyle imploded the band and destroyed Phil. (he wasn’t the only one with addiction issues in the band) . But Phil left a body of very eclectic & talent music. great songwriter & singer
What a smash song from this band Thin Lizzy! And the boys a back in town? Thank you "Sabina" from Germany all time for the good music! And RIP Phil Lynott 🤗🤘
Thank you Sabina for a good reaction 🌹. I saw Thin Lizzy om their farwell tour at Isstadion Stockholm 1983. It was an amazing concert. My favorite song with Thin Lizzy is "Angel of death" and "Black Rose". If you want, try "Kings call" with Phil Lynnot and Mark Knopfler from Dire Straight. Take care🌹
I got to see them in '76 or '77, I think. One of the guitarists was sick and couldn't play but they came out as a 3-piece and still rocked. It was a great show.
My favourite song would have to be ' Still in Love with You ' off the Live and Dangerous album. It's a nice slow number. It was originally on their ' Nightlife ' album , but the live track is better. Just my opinion. Good reaction though Sabina !
Yes, but please pick Emerald. Whiskey In The Jar is better known and nice pimped up folklore. But Emerald is an outlook on many later metal tunes and amazing guitar work, especially the live version.
Thin Lizzy was irish Hard rock influence band underestimated. They composed great LP. 36 years old Phil lynott Died. In the early band played guitar the great Gary Moore, died in recently years. Good bless each other 🤘🎸🇮🇪
Again a great choice, a great reaction - you REALLY feel music, so lovely to watch!! Their album "Thunder & Lightning" is a timeless Hard Rock Classic imo, too - I'd highly suggest the songs "Cold Sweat" and "The Sun Goes Down"! Have a great evening, waiting for your next reaction...
Great images conjured up of getting slowly affected by the booze on your own at a bar or pub, with a blues band accompanying! Have only done that one time, but it was fun. 🙂 Hadn't heard this version of the song - and Lizzy are in my Top 5 of bands - but I imagine it's from the Live at the Rainbow '76 DVD. The lyrics are enigmatic. Who was Peter Brent? Phil's lyrical genius is there for all to hear. "Nobody knew the problem, but my God - Suicide". Wonderful band. As good as Zeppelin!
Saw Lizzy a few times in the early 80s, fantastic band live, hard to pick a favourite song but "Sarah" is the ultimate love song, The Boys Are Back In Town and Do Anything You Want To are pure rockers, Parisienne Walkways is just pure class blues. Thin Lizzy should have been a lot bigger, they were that good
After Phil died myself and two other guys travelled Europe watching the remainder of the group performing with other musicians. As a result we became friends with Philomena, Phil's Mum. What a lovely lady. You may notice Robbo's fuzzy hair in this video, that's because Philomena washed it with all she had available, Fairy liquid! She was in the audience.
more to check out there, for a while now i've liked 'pressure will blow' but i haven't listened to cold sweat, emerald, black rose yet, i'll have to check those in a bit 👍
Bass and singer, Phil Lynott was born in the West Midlands of England, but grew up in Dublin, Ireland, with his grandparents. Phil Lynott is an icon in Ireland, in 2005, a life-size bronze statue of Lynott by Dublin sculptor Paul Daly was unveiled on Harry Street, off Grafton Street in Dublin. He died of pneumonia and heart failure due to septicaemia on 4 January 1986 at the age of 36.
Got to be one of the most underrated bands alot of people know the name or the most popular songs but thin lizzy made so many fantastic songs and always had some of the most talented musicians of their era glad to see someone do this song 🤘
My favorite songs from them, are the studio versions of "The Boys Are Back In Town", "Jailbreak", and "Cowboy Song". Phil Lynott, the singer bass player, was badass. Another cool thing is, when these songs come on the radio, or you hear them in a movie or something, they still sound great. Real timeless stuff.
So happy that you were introduced to this song. There are some songs people suggest which while well known were not near their best. The band itself hated the song "Whisky In A Jar" and never played it live once Eric Bell left. It wasn't even that popular or well known until Metallica covered it many years later.
Still in love with you is a banger. Was lucky enough to see Thin Lizzy in their prime. Phil Lynott RIP was such a fantastic front man. Love your channel BTW.

Great reaction Sabrina. I saw Thin Lizzy many times in the 70's. They were a great live band. Might I suggest you react to Deep Purple Child in Time Live 1970. They were one of the biggest rock bands of the 70's. And if you want something totally different to react to, perhaps Heilung 'In Maidjan, from the Lifa album Live at Castlefest, 2017. An amazing piece of music. Looking forward to more reactions.

Good to see someone reacting to a Thin Lizzy song that isn't one of the predictable ones from the Jailbreak album. The band has so many great songs that most people never get to hear. I recommend Vagabonds of the Western World, King's Vengeance and Opium Trail.
I really discovered just how great Lizzy were when I bought Johnny the fox album and heard fools gold , with reference to how people strove to strike it rich. Lizzy songs and books can enrich the listener with the past . They had great guitar players, drummer, but in short Lynott was a genius, unique. I don't think as a song writer, producer and performer that he can never be matched.
Is it just me or is Thin Lizzy a hard rock band, rather than blues? It's old school but rock :) Their music has a wide range of influences, including blues, soul, psychedelic rock and trad Irish folk too I guess. Phil was one of a kind.
No better band live than thin Lizzy in the 70 they were special guests when queen tour America apparently Lizzy blow them off stage a few times Freddie was back stage saying get them off get them off 👀🙈🙊🙉👀
Pay particular attention to the lead guitarist who is Gary Moore. Gary went on to a solo career, where IMHO, the only possible guitarist at his level was Stevie Ray Vaughn. Hendrix was the best, but Gary covered Jimi's song, "Voodoo Child" without any mistakes, yet he gives the song his own interpretation: m.ruclips.net/video/f5Josr4KBzA/видео.html&pp=ygUXZ2FyeSBtb29yZSB2b29kb28gY2hpbGQ%3D
If you like Thin Lizzy, you must react to Tommy Johansson The leadguitarist in Sabaton He have his own youtubechannel with a lot of amacing cowers He has a lot of Thin Lizzy and Gary Moore cowers and much more The Phantom of the opera, maybe His voice is amacing and the range is cracy He is also the guy behind the music of a lot of Floors cowers He is an multiinstrumentalist and play all the instrument himself and he is wery funny 😏
You can hear how much Iron Maiden were influenced by them . I knew a guy back in the day from Ireland that used to say Tin Lizzeh are the fookin greatest!!! Ha
Did i spot Gary Moore ?🤗Im pretty sure he was in Lizzy that time. The guitarist with not totally straight hair bcause straight hair is Scott Gorham. 😊 Singer is Phil Lynott. Jailbreak, Boys are back in Town, Whiskey in the Jar Pls

Any one who may have commented that Thin Lizzy are 'underated'... they are not. Everyone knows they are good.
