Sounds good, but the V10 era was the best!
Imagine a new 1000+ bhp v10 engine, lighter than those old v10s, combined with the current hybrid. But I would still doubt about the weight ratio and weight distribution.
But I must say those v6s actually sound a lot better and beautiful.

@@SeekingToTruth The V10 and the V8 era in person just got old 5 laps in. The new engines sound great in person, but you also don't have to worry about permanent hearing damage just because you had to unplug your hearing protection to talk to somebody.
@@jamesyoo4779 Yeah you are absolutely right. No hearing damage as much as the V8 and V10. But that is the only benefit if you are a F1 mechanic and work almost everyday with the hybrid V6 engine.
This is an improvement, although the 1980's V6 Turbo's still sound a lot better. Maybe it was due to how engines and transmissions were built back then, but they sounded much smoother.
It's actually due to the regulations.Now we need to make it less "noisy" and ammit less carbon dioxide so it doesn't pollute the air.But that makes what F1 was so recognised so much in the past

Modern V6 F1 cars are quieter because of the MGU-H. The MGU-H recycles exhaust gases a second time after the gases have already passed through the turbo, thus reducing the sound coming out of the tailpipe. F1 rules are removing the MGU-H from 2026 meaning the cars will be louder again, similar to 80s turbo loud.

Sounds great relatively speaking when compared to other turbo v6's in racing, but it is not nor will it ever be the sound of f1. The exotic and overwhelming sound of the v10, V12 (and even the v8's weren't bad) will always be the true sound for the pinnacle of motorsports

As a diehard fan of Genjitsu no Yohane Sunshine in the Mirror, the sound of these 2022 F1 Cars in my opinion, are very good, although by FIA standards, 2022 F1 cars sounded way too quiet.

Can anyone please explain why V12 engines aren't allowed anymore? They have more cylindres, but that doesn't necessarily mean the engine is bigger. What has the Euro standard to do with it?
The V12’s are now banned for two reasons: first, is that the V6 is a lot more efficient than any V12 in history, so it’s logical that these engines were the choice. The second reason is money- if they allowed more engine variants, the costs would skyrocket like crazy, due to multiple engines being developed, which causes a high cost of the said engine. Also, some components are “listed parts” which means that they are identical for everyone(an example of such part is a fuel pump, provided by Magneti Marelli for all teams), and having multiple different engines would make having listed parts impossible
Coming in 2026 is 50% electric and 50% ICE. So I imagine coming out of pit will be in electric mode like LMP1 cars.

the V6s may be worse in sound, but they're definitely more efficient performance wise and since it's all about being *"the peak of motorsport"* I pretty much unfortunately doubt that they're going to bring the old engines back, at least not single handedly just because of the sound

I really don't get how can people like v10s so much better than V6s. V10s sounds are waaay too sharp, it's almost unconfortable to listen to in my opinion. V6s sounds futuristic and have a very balanced sound, it's pleasing and sexy to listen to

actually, sounds like 80s honda engine. ruclips.net/video/0W7lufh_7IQ/видео.html. it's also proven that the era you prefer is the one you grew up in. kids who grew up in the 60s prefer that era, kids who grew up in the 2000s prefer the v10 era, kids who grow up today will prefer the hybrid era. F1 has existed for 72 years, the V10 era was from 1989 to 2005, so 17 seasons, which is a very small portion. Don't get me wrong, i'd take a V8/10/12 over these any day but to compare them to a chainsaw is a discredit to how good they do sound in their own right, a lot of times very similar to the 80s engines
