Monza is definetly one of the hardest circuits to set a good time. You absolutly have to murder every of the 11? corners. Yes, it is a rather easy layout, but hitting the Lesmo's, Ascari, the exit of Parabolica and turn 1 just perfect is a menacing task. IMO Monza is the grown up version of the Red Bull Ring. Longer, faster, and much more unforgiving in regards of laptime.

    • @Anon24052
      @Anon24052 Год назад +6

Exactly, and on top of that; the combo of stupidly tall death kerbs and the lack of tarmac run off means that if you aren’t precise as well as aggressive means that you can easily go off track, often violently.

Seriously when i saw the thumbnail and monza was down there i got triggered 🤣... I agree monza is super hard to nail everything down and there's so little time to gain through those corners especially when everyone is on that high-level... The redbull ring is alright for me but i really struggle with turn 1.. The inside curb can easily lift the car and the runoff area at turn 1 has that mini sausages but ig that isn't the corner itself.. Im talking from AC perspective which that turn 1 is probably outdated i think.. Anyways another track i find kinda hard is zandvoort but that's likely an ingame thing. The problem is tire heating, the track has alot of high-speed corners which burns the tires up.. Singapore isn't a hard layout for me but in the aspect of real life driving it should be. I believe Hamilton talked about it... the old layout of Albert park was easy but sector 3 had some corners in it that can catch you. Those few corners you'd think ur goin fast enough but in the time ur not and turn 1 can be problematic.. Bahrain is a difficult seeming track but i never really had struggles with it apart from that weird hirpin corner leading into the middle straight and the the 3rd last corner leading on to the final straight... Interlagos turn 1, 2 and turn 4 is also pretty tough.. Especially turn 4 it can be very punishing if u go on the outside kerb.. Im sure there's more but this comment is way tooo lonng anyway

I know this was four months ago, but Melbourne is a tricky track to rank. Yes, it’s easy but the width of the road is narrow making it hard to overtake; yet the track has four DRS zones creating more opportunities to do so. I mean we just saw it Yesterday, it was absolute Mayham. You can’t say it’s an easy track when there were eight DNFs.

I'm definitely with you regarding the ranking of the Red Bull Ring but I would've loved it to hear more about it than "it's hard to get pole there" like the elevation changes within a lap (and doing that over 70 times throughout the race) or simply the 90° corners in the first sector which are always a crucial point in lap 1 or when there are battles.

Vegas is going to be a Mario Kart circuit in terms of the actual driving. In terms of mechanical reliability (especially at the end of the season when teams are trying to nurse older PUs and gearboxes without taking a penalty) it could be brutal, and the actual surface quality is a huge question mark (expecting it to be worst than Miami but we'll have to see). I think the provisional ranking is spot on, only comment is that you have the start/finish line in the wrong spot (should be the tiny straight just before the hairpin in the upper right - which is where they are building the permanent paddock area).

Hi there. I used to drive in interlagos few times (track days events), and I can tell you Interlagos is very tricky. Here goes some examples:
    1) Turn "Laranjinha" (little orange): in this case "orange" means something like "hard for an inexpert). This curve is tricky because you are going up hill and you can't see where curve will be exactly when approaching. Some drivers build a reference in their minds.
    2) Turn "Pico de Pato" (Duck Beak) + "Megulho" (Dive) + Turn "Junção" (Junction): if you are defending your position you must do this sequence at your best, otherwise your opponent will get close to you at the Junction (just before the long up hill towards the finish line). A perfect curve at Junction will give you engine power to go up the hill with maximum power (remember Galsy in 2019 against Hamilton in the last lap - perfect preparation for the long hill)
    3) A fast lap in interlagos depends on doing well the Senna's S curve. A F1 drive is coming at +300 and must break, start the turn very open and try to make the middle of the curve almost like a straight, then turn to the right in the right angle to complete the "curva do sol" (Sun Curve) gaining speed for the long straight (called opposite Straight) down to the lake.
    😂 tricky, isn't? And there's more! 😊

While in monza, they juste have to manage their tyres in the corners, and yes there are a few tricky corners before important straights, I would put it in C3

The only ones I majorly disagree on are Monza and Spa actually. I think it really depends on what perspective you judge them from. Making no mistakes is truly much easier at Monza due to fewer corners than in Spa where there are some corners that are somewhat less forgiveable than in Monza. However if you judge it from a pure 'percect lap' perspective I find Monza a much much harder circuit. For me personally fewer corners have always made the track harder. I am a rather late braker which makes low speed corners very hard for me to get the trick off. You actually explained that really well with the RB-Ring which is a track that I also find difficult to get right. The fewer corners you have the more perfect you have to be at the few you have to get a good hot lap in. For some reason Monza has always been a nemesis of mine because I hate two chicanes and I still do not get a grip on the two Lezmos for some reason. Austria it's quite the same. The upper hair-pin which is turn 3 I believe is still very tricky for me. On the other side Silverstone and Spa have always been tracks where I have excelled and driven very well on. In terms of making no mistakes over a long distance they are certainly more difficult than Monza and Austria but in terms of getting a great lap in are much easier for me. The only corners I still struggle with a little bit are Copse, La Source and the last chicane in Spa. So if it was a personal matter I would switch those for up but in general this is a rather representative tier list I would say.

Lets dissect this line for example 5:20- "Its got walls, its got bumps, its got this bullshit". some of the other difficult tracks you listed have walls and bumps too, but what is "this bullshit"? what are the names/numbers of the turns on the track? what does it look like from the cockpit's view in that specific "bullshit" sections? in the 12:22 Singapore section you say its, "hot! humid. bumpy. long. walls!". However then completely fail to illustrate to us what any of those bumps and walls are supposed to look like with modern cockpit footage. what are the temps that some of these tropical circuits experience, 50 centigrade?

Hey Mr V! Back with the great content, I love it! Great video as always. Love your humor and presentation, great effort once again with this quality video. Keep up the good work!
In terms of the list; There's one change I would make and that is to change Mexico from C3 to Crikey in my humble opinion :) I do agree with what you say that the layout itself isn't that interesting, but Mexico is, among drivers, infamous for how incredibly difficult it is to perfect a qualifying lap around this track and to optimize every lap. And seeing how you mentioned that at the start of the video, that would be a reason for me to move it to crikey level.
Looking forward to the next video! Greetings from the Netherlands ❤

Hmmm true, I guess the thin air from the altitude gives the cars a lot less grip than you'd think, so maybe it should be up there for the same reason as Miami. Completely forgot about drivers saying that honestly

You should really divide this by quali vs. race. Monaco is the hardest qualifier, but because it's so hard to pass, there's really nothing to lose in the race. Look at Alonso last year; you could drive that damn slow and not lose a spot. Can't be that hard.

i personally find jedda to be harder than monaco. Here is WHY. in monaco you just need to aclimate to the right cornerspeed, even though the last sector is a bit more challenging, i think you can get used to it. As of Jedda you have many high speed corners wich you need to 1. find the apex 2. at the right speed. At some tracks if you dont manage, this specific corner is wasted, but you can still get the other ones right. however at this track if you mess up one corner, the next one is also messed up because you have left and right combinations. wich means if you go wide at one corner you will miss the other one as well. You need to be at the right line to have maximum grip otherwise you lose SO MUCH time during these corners especially in sector 1 because they are also very fast. wich by the way makes suzuka that hard aswell. during a race such a track can make you lose lot of time if you acumulate all these mistakes in monaco its hard to overtake even if you lose some time here and there its not as fatal

No walls in Melbourne? Please tell that to 2009's turn 5. Also turn 2 which could be a second wall of champions if it was a few metres closer in.
And I'd argue that Imola and Silverstone are Ce tyres at most - turns 9, 10 and 1 at the A1 ring being a serious challenge to get right, especially given the inability to make up lost time on a qualifying lap.
Personally I'd also say Hungary is more challenging than Spa, hence why the races there are always some of the most interesting.

When it comes to Suzuka, I think that it's the circuit that's most affected by wheel vs. Controller, Especially with the Ss at the start of the lap. That complex is a nightmare of controller due to the lack of precision but is almost trivial on a wheel.

I'd personally bump up Jeddah, just because it's scary as sh*t for the drivers. I'm surprised that the average speed around this track is only 250km/h.
Honestly, there's just something I find kind of creepy about this track. It's basically pitch black around, you're going at insane speeds the whole time, the walls are pinching you in every corner, the risk of having a monumental crash with someone or by yourself is much higher, and so on.

Monaco was already an aberration the very first time it was used as a race track. It need a fifth category all for itself, the Monaco line above «They race me so hard». 70 laps is not so bad when you remember that it originally had the same distance as the other races and need over 100 laps to complete.
