    We were at Universal Studios in Orlando and I woke up extremely sick. I knew it was a kidney stone so I figured what the heck. I’ll just go to the park anyway. We rode Dudley Dooright’s Ripsaw Falls. Yep . I went straight to the bathroom and passed the stone. 🤷‍♀️

    I'm in London England and after vomiting all night and morning from the pain, i went to a&e on Sunday at 2pm. CT scan showed a medium stone in left kidney. Was discharged at 2:30am Monday with two 100mg diclofenac suppositories and told to drink 3-4 liters of water. When I originally got there, all they gave me was 2 tablets of ibuprofen. It was HOURS until I got more pain relief.
    Now I'm in agony again AND I haven't pooped since that day in a&e , probably from all the pain meds. I'm considering going back in again as the pain is unbearable again.
    I do not wish this pain even to my worst enemy.

    Movement doesn't help. I have had stones for 30 days and did nothing but move and climb the walls with pain. She is right about refraining from drinking water during pain. Some bouts can last up to 6 hours and that backed up urine can cause immense pain and renal damage. The movement of the stone is what causes the pain so think of it that way, it gives you a little hope

      As a patient myself (cancer not stones) I know how valuable it is to become less anxious with illness. Your comment made me very happy.

    Dont know if it really matters but in my mind I feel if I am out running, biking, gym, percussion gun, or any activity that shakes me up it is helping me possibly get rid of anything that can develop into a stone. Stopped wearing a kidney belt while dirt biking. Its motivation to do something physical multiple times a week as preventive. Liked the section in this video to notice signs of when to go to the ER.

    Thank you for this video. I've passed two stones since January 2020 (the first rime i ever had a stone). The fjrst one is a blur because i was in so much pain, but i did pass it at some point. Then a couple years later, I got another one, and i took my pain meds i had leftover from when i went the first time to the ER and i drank tons lf water and rolled around on my bed and paced back and forth and i actually felt that one drop and pass. Now, a couple years later, i have another one. He causes me pain now and then. But for now, he's juat giving me anxiety. I go back to my urologist in September to see what it's doing and will go from there. I hate these things.

      please make sure they order you a 24 hour urine collection so you can see WHY you are making stones.

      @TheKidneyStoneDiet Oh ok! Yea, neither of the two urologists I've had have doke that. You'd think that would be an automatic test they would do on you.

    This has been a really good episode thank you. Lots of liquid and as much movement as you can deal with. Another thing, based on my personal experience, if a doctor can't see your kidney stone, see another doctor. Once in a while a doctor can fail to correctly read the data and make the correct diagnosis.

    I heard you should not be drinking while in pain, because it could mean that the stone is stuck, and drinking will make it worse given that urine will back up into the kidney. Any thoughts on that? Thanks

    • @TheKidneyStoneDiet
      @TheKidneyStoneDiet  3 месяца назад +4

      If you are drinking and not producing urine, that could be a sign it is stuck and yes, stop and go to ER and/or call doc. But stopping fluids simply bc their is pain (as many have pain) doesn't mean the stone is stuck. Great question!
