It's just as bad in the game. It's virtually unplayable. I flew through the mission by the grace of labels and then crashed after flying over the airfield 12+ times trying to get a clear look at the runway and crashed and said fuck It. Need to play with reshade more I guess.
@@phantom12321800 as the mission briefing suggests, you can increase your gamma until you see enough, without exiting the game. It's not darker than it was in real life, anyway.
I thought it was just my graphics card - which I'm sure didn't help - but on a lot of the night videos, whether this or the subsims, you say "I can barely see it" which my computer takes to mean, put 3 grayish black blobs so I definitely can't see it. But I love the content, love the RP you put into all your vids. You are quickly becoming my favorite YT personality. Keep up the good work!
A bit off topic but I loved your Silent Hunter 3 campaign videos, but I do wonder what mods did you use on your campaign since the vanilla is a bit dated. Love this video though!
Has there been any adjustments made to the video? When I did this mission I had to turn labels on from time to time just to see where the plane right next to me was. It was nail biting. I switched gamma to 3.3 but it still remained close to pitch black. Actually, no - it did go a bit more gray but there was no contrast at all. I could see the moon but little else, maybe the occasional darker patch. Maybe it’s my card and monitor combo?
Yeah, fortunately the AI switch on their nav lights before entering the clouds. It’s definitely one of the coolest moments in the mission. I wish that they would have done that on departure.
Man, the Eisenhower Speech always hits so hard. Imagine, being in that cockpit alone hearing that...side note im fucking pumped for Masters of the Air.
Holy mackerel, what a brilliant video. Fantastic work, man! Great cinematics. Here are a few tips for future missions: - According to the manual you need to leave 24 gallons in the rear tank as reserve to achieve perfect balance for landing - It's not Il-2, feel free to push your engine harder to catch up :) I use 61" and 3000 RPM because then I catch up sooner and I need to push the engine for a shorter time - No need to open the rads manually. The needle may be high, but the automatic valve will open the flaps and not let it climb higher - I suspect that the left drop tank is bugged in DCS. It empties way faster than the right one. Alright, good luck, I'm really looking forward to the rest of the videos!
Thanks man! -Thank you for all the tips as well! I will be sure to keep 24 gallons in the rear tank. - It is funny that you caught onto me being very conservitive with the engine. My fear is cooking it and that is defintly a habit that comes from Il-2 haha. Also why I was concerned about the temps. - Good to know the drop tank was just a bug! I do like random failures like that though haha Thanks for the great campaign. Very excited to continue with it!
So glad to see you enjoying this campaign! Reflected does an amazing job, and it was my pleasure to provide the voice of Colgate in the campaign. I hope you guys enjoy! ~Colgate Control
Possibly the most beautiful mission I've ever seen. Night flights always do something extra for me.. the luminescent green gauges, the dim incandescent flood light, the moon reflecting off the clouds... Damn dude. Very good, sir.
OK I was legitimately thinking to myself the day before, Man I wish Wolfpack could do another DCS campaign preferably one with the p-51, AND BAAM he read my mind
Just tried this campaign for the first time last night. The realism really puts in perspective how insane - and difficult - and incredibly sketchy it was to fly these missions. The courage it took is staggering. I was absolutely white knuckled just to take of, then flying totally blind through the storm - it was intensely immersive, and gets your heart rate up - and at the same time - awe inspiring. So cool.
Debden is just south of Saffron Walden in Essex, England. Debden village itself is in a hilly area, but the airfield was closer to the even smaller hamlet of Wimbish, after which it was more recently known as an army base. I live about 30 miles away.
I first got into air combat with the Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator from 1998/99. It thought it was the end all/be all of air combat. Boy, was I wrong. It's still a great sim, and probably one of the stepping stones to get to this. DCS has provided skilled campaign makers like Reflected the platform to really scramble your head. As real as we can get today.
WOW!!! What a show!!!!! I was very impressed, on how you flew the mission, flying at night, plus the clouds, rain, etc!!!! Keep up the great work!!! Thanks again, for the awesome video!!!!!
Try not to hit a tree this time :P. I always love your flight series, and im glad to see one make a return. Also, the IL2 nostalgia at the end, SH3 flak gunner voicer, and general atmosphere is spot on. I don't know how you manage to keep improving.
This is the greatest mission/flight sim youtube video I've ever seen. As authentic as it gets, beautiful atmosphere, and you have the best editing/commentary. Can't wait for the rest of this series I'd rather watch you play than play myself haha
Ironically, the losses on the beaches were not at all insane. Only at Omaha were the losses serious, and even then they were not nearly as bad as the common perception. The airborne did a phenomenal job and 4 of 5 landings went incredibly well. Even Omaha went pretty well after the initial beach was taken. The importance of the landings going well enough to sustain and grow the beachheads was hard to overstate, and it was a stunning success in that regard.
Been hearing about this campaign coming for a month or more now. I'm sure it's going to be well done like the other stuff Reflected has put out. I'm mostly just glad the the DCS drought on your channel is over. Can't wait until you do the next mission. Great work on this video, as is the norm with your vids.
You fuel shut off is switched on ON... Sometimes it took a little longer than comfortable for the process to complete changing from one fuel source to the next, as well.
I don't know if anyone has a good battle of britton campaign in a spit or huricane but I also think that would be awesome after this one is done. Im so pumped as ive been watching all your old IL2 runs recently over your week off
That night dive with the lights was great. A little more worrying than otherwise because I'd watched a vid on the demonstration disaster with the JU-87s where they were diving through the clouds but some fog had rolled in so they didn't pull up in time and crashed 17 dive bombers
I flew this mission in VR last night. I turned the gamma setting up in DCS to max, but it was still a bit darker than what’s in the video. I tried to follow my flight lead after takeoff, but lost him and came within a whisker of orphaning my kids. I decided to climb out on runway heading until clear of the clouds and then circled back until I found the fighter group. It took me a while for locate the 334th in the dark, once I did, looked for the element with 3 a/c. And so it went. I have my PPL and have done a bunch of actual (with safety pilot/CFII) and hood time, but this mission still tested my panel chops to the max. It was the most challenging mission in almost 3 decades of combat flight sims. My left drop tank didn’t feed either. I’m very familiar with the 4th FG, since dad flew Phantoms with the 335th and 336th, so looking forward to the rest of this campaign. Well done @Reflected Simulations for the campaign and to @wolfpack345 for the magnificent video.
Everytime i watch these Videos i cant help but try really hard to imagine what went trough the People's Heads who did this for real, truly, it is something no ordinary Human will ever be able to wrap their Mind around, im confident that you can only truly understand it, if you've done it. You get ready with your Team, Chances are high youre seeing your Brothers around you for the last Time, either you, or them wont makeit, you take off... The Calm before the Storm, just you, your thoughts, and the Plane Engine for a long Time... Then, the command, time to dive, what will hit you in a Moment? Will the Enemy be caught offguard? Are they waiting for you? You're gonna find out soon, no turning back now. This might be the last Time you can even think, the last time youre speaking to your Brothers, the last Time you're alive! I could go on.
Every time Wolfpack does those strafing runs I'm going like "pull up, pull up.. pull up!" :-P. This one wasn't half bad tho, probably because I couldn't see the ground ;-D. And cracking that train was awesome :)
Holy shit, what a cool channel. I must have subbed to you ages ago then took my eyes off it. Currently devouring your excellent and always skilful content :)
Wolfpack: "I'm greedy..." Me: Damn, that's usually his undoing... Also me: currently doing some cockpit painting on a Hasagawa 1/72 P-38, Vintage 1988.
So realistic ! Omg . . . What a mission ! I just think the cockpit light was too bright, was kinda blinding me, i wish so much you've recorded the landing.
Awesome. There’s only 1 thing better than watching a Spud or Wolfpack video. And that’s a Spudpack vid. Just a little worried you might get the bends if you keep going from sub to spitfire.
Awesome! Yeah passing thru the clouds was cool! YT compression makes it really grainy at 1080p Not alot of action 1st mission...but you cracked open that train! Keep em coming!!!!
A night-time mission taking on the full might of... RUclips's compression!
😂
welcome to luminescent dials and inky blackness with Wolfpack :)
Dials, engine noise, tracers and one explosion. Nighttime on You Tube is coming up next!!

That scene going through the clouds was amazing.
seriously imagine being 20 something doing that!
Cant wait for the show lol, this series should bridge the gap nicely though!
it’s always a great example as how far the Republican party has fallen. They would brand Ike a globalist traitor now.
Ike's speech never fails to produce some chills

Honestly this just increased my deep, passionate desire for the first Corsair campaign!
I’m on it ;)
my god the atmosphere in this mission is breathtaking
As a Marine, 'The saying was hurry up and wait.' Then you had the intense days that were hellish. I like this idea for a series, Thanks.
Possibly the most beautiful mission I've ever seen. Night flights always do something extra for me.. the luminescent green gauges, the dim incandescent flood light, the moon reflecting off the clouds... Damn dude. Very good, sir.

Wolfpack, "Gee I hope we don't get shot at by flak", as the Germans instantly start shooting

Careful you don't run into Pewnack the destroyer.
@@unscentednapalm8547 Pewnack the Destroyer has drunk too much beer and has died of fatal hiccups.
yeah, wondered why the map appeared to show the flight originating south of London
Loving the 4K BTW
@@PaddyWag0n because that's as far up north as the map in the game reaches. Debden is not on it.
@@PaddyWag0n Inaccuracy in the game. Given the high quality of everything else I think we can forgive that. And yes - I did notice that too!

It's stupid how good your content is. So immersive and interesting. This is going to be a hell of a series!
WOW!!!
What a show!!!!!
I was very impressed, on how you flew the mission, flying at night, plus the clouds, rain, etc!!!!

Thanks again, for the awesome video!!!!!
The pep talk during the intro was good, right up till the end 😳
It was chillling.
Yeah, apparently that's what Blakeslee said in real life too, according to my research.
Great use of the call of duty 2 soundtrack in the opening scene. That game had some great music.
Try not to hit a tree this time :P. I always love your flight series, and im glad to see one make a return.

flight sims have come a long way. if I had been a kid and had those clouds and graphics I would go insane haha
I'm a student pilot. That dive through the clouds had me way more stressed out than I think it should have.
Ahh the P-51D Mustang, Cadillac of the sky 😁
Alright, now this is epic.
That scene in the clouds, with Eisenhower... Right on time for Masters of the Air.
"If we have landed and none of us makes it back, that is ok." Chilling, given the insane losses on the beaches.
especially Omaha

Yeah making videos in DCS has frustrated me for a while. The changes to the track system and AI have made it much more enjoyable
I've been binge watching all your old campaigns from a couple of years ago, loved the Sabre campaign, sad it ended, but you made it through :D
"Sir, why do our planes look like giant zebras?" 😂😂😂
Man that intro was something else! Absolutely 10/10 content!
You fuel shut off is switched on ON... Sometimes it took a little longer than comfortable for the process to complete changing from one fuel source to the next, as well.
10:50 and after when all the lights go on is just wow
As a man sticking it with the USAA, I appreciate the jab at wet boots in the beginning. Starting off strong, Wolfpack, starting off strong. o7
Very excited for this series brother, cheers from a combat zone :}
Reflected's campagins are always incredible his Tomcat ones are awesome. I haven't played any of his WW2 ones.

One of the most cinematic videos you’ve made!
Thanks!
Amazing job with those cinematics and adding speeches of Ike and FDR was a great idea. Looking forward for more episodes. ;-)
Looking forward to the series. Hopefully a day mission or two would be great. Sometimes it felt like a podcast.
Cool, I'll have to purchase this campaign too. Last I did with the Mustang was Blue Nosed Bastards Of Bodney
That night dive with the lights was great.

I've long enjoyed your maritime themed videos but I'm stoked you're also playing my favorite game too now!
Good graphics, decent plotline, and great dialogue(as usual). You still rock the genre and Ytube. Keep it up brah!!
Great video, I love the P51, DCS, and you're videos. The historical radio broadcast are cool. Awesome video can't wait for more.
I was really looking for a new DCS youtuber and I follow your USS Seawolf series and now I am so happy to find a DCS video from you!

Brilliant! These series missions are fun to watch. On-wards and upwards!
Another excellent video Wolfpack, can't wait for the next one.
I haven't flown a good flight sim since the early 90s. I gotta get back into this
Badass way to start a campaign. That cloud dive!!!
That train Commander bled all the steam from the loco, then prayed you didn't spray the ammo!
Absolutely stunning looking, really looking forward to seeing more of this! 👏👏👏🍻 cheers Wolfpack 🐺👍
This is an absolutely epic series.
Nicely work with the speech by General Dwight D "Ike" Eisenhower being broadcasted over the radio,Wolf.
It's part of the campaign, you can listen to original broadcasts on every mission :)
Great video dude!! Looking forward to the rest of the campaign. You're right, good to be back on a flight sim. 👍
I’m very excited to see you back in the air!
I love those cockpit lights.
I would like to see the whole thing, with starts and landings. Doesnt have to be that much cut down. I would watch the whole thing. :)
Love the historical gameplay, please keep it coming!!
It would be cool to see take off and landing from the cockpit view, especially in such bad conditions...
So realistic ! Omg . . . What a mission ! I just think the cockpit light was too bright, was kinda blinding me, i wish so much you've recorded the landing.

The nighttime looks darn good. Especially with a full moon.
Adding brief, debrief, BDA, etc would be appreciated. Thanks so much for a great series!
Very nice.
Fun to watch, even if pretty dark.
Wolfpack is back in flight sims! Huzzah!
WOW, out-freaking standing loved it
nice 1 m8, hope the next missions are in day time couldent see anything for the most of the flight 🙂
Looks awesome Wolfpack! Eagerly awaiting episode 2 😊
Love the Vid,man. You inspired me to get into IL2.
Awesome! Yeah passing thru the clouds was cool! YT compression makes it really grainy at 1080p
Not alot of action 1st mission...but you cracked open that train!
Keep em coming!!!!
Would it be possible in DCS to do a bomber campaign? That might be fun to watch. Managing a wounded bomber is always fun lol
this was fun and scary all at the same time!
The CoD2 soundtrack at the beginning is a nice touch
Nice to seeya back in a flight sim.
Going through the clouds reminded me of the x wings attacking the imperial base in rogue one
TY! Looking for more of this campaign.
This campaign is going to be great 🤟
Even with yt compression I liked it keep it up those tracers at night, just wow made me wanna do some night stuff in dcs and arma
Fantastic new Serie! Keep up the good work!
13:32 damn the p51 has great acceleration 0-290mph in couple of seconds
this mission was so much eye candy its crazy
More please! Amazing visuals.
Excellent stuff Wolfpack!!
Great looking graphics, very atmospheric.
I bought it too! Thought it would be a good way to get back to the sim! Reflected simulation is doing some amazing campaigns! Real nice guy too!
Yeah he is a great guy!
It will be interesting to see where it goes.
