Can you do this for def if you get a race exhaust. So can you also do this for all the deletes for diesels. The l5p you have to get there special ecu right. How does the computer not make the rest of the vehicles computer freak out. By the vin?
I still confuse of the cost structure of hptuner, so the obd hardware is 400ish, how much is the software? And you need to register & pay for each vehicle? How much is the total cost for egr delete?
So for HP Tuners you buy credits. Each credit is $50. The amount of credits needed is dependent upon the vehicle you are trying to unlock. If you unlock a Toyota 4Runner, for example, then you will be allowed to use that specific HP Tuners Device on any Toyota 4Runner of the same Generation that uses the same ECM/PCM. The EGR Delete will need to be done by you. A shop will not do it because it is against Emissions Laws. Nope! The EGR, Exhaust Gas Recirculater, is an emissions device and recirculates finely metered quantities of exhaust gas to the engine intake system for increased engine efficiency, reduced fuel consumption and lower NOx emissions. If you are modifing your engine, this typically does more harm then good.
Theoretically it should but you would need to find a tuner that's supports your car. For example, HPTuner has a list on their website that shows supported makes and models by their product
Our car has gasses getting into the coolant so while investigating i just discovered the egr is blanked off without any ecm faults showing. The car is HP and i need to find proof of the mod date or I’m left with a repair bill 🙈 Cheers for your reply, much appreciated
Probably not. HpTuner isn't you run of the mill scanner. It's a tool used for tuning and altering a vehicles ECU. Your typical Tuner costs around $400.
Bought a cheap OBD2 reader off Amazon that allows you to turn off the CEL after it throws a code. Ran my 2003 1.9 ALH beetle with the vacuum line off the EGR, plugged in the OBD2 reader and deleted the CEL. It hasn’t returned. Much simpler fix, unless it comes back in a month and I’m proven wrong of course. I’ve been wrong before and I’ll be wrong again 😄
Yeah that’s what I figured. It’s probably a much better way than what I did. I haven’t ran my OBD2 to check for codes since I cleared it though so not sure if it’s still throwing one or not. I’d like to do a full EGR delete but retain my ASV. Just too lazy to pull the EGR cooler and rearrange all the vacuum lines right now honestly 😂
I got error fron my Mercedes Error code P041D Sensor B temperature EGR signal high Do you know what the best solution for this problem! I cant find nothing on google. Just found how to remove egr or clean it. Idk if its the solution. Any idea
"Signal High" are the key words here. They are referring to the voltage of temperature sensor b. This is probably because of a faulty EGR temperature sensor
Limp mode? Hmm that's interesting. Never experienced limp mode in my case. At least not in the last few years. Only reason u should be in limp mode is if u failed to properly install your EGR block off plates and have a massive vacuum leak.
@@The3800Daily you can make templates in hpt to automate it a bit but you wouldn't have this issue if you just iterate your current tune I'm sure you can give zzp the wink and nudge to use the new file you send them as a base to revise when you get it retuned.

Oh yes! Mines the MVPI2+
