    Miyako started playing piano at the age of 3 and when she graduated high school, instead of continuing to a certain career of classical piano, she got 4 books on guitar and taught herself, and then joined a metal band. Who even does that? Lol. Her talent is beyond words, but all of them are so incredibly talented. As you said, you'd be hard pressed to find a better guitar duo. Asami's vocals are so powerful and Miho and Haruna are amazing. This is probably my favorite song from them as it is just so astonishing in composition, piano work, vocals, and lyrics. They do, however, have another like this: Frozen Serenade. When that came out, people said it was amazing, but not playable live. They of course did it live. Both that song and this one are masterpieces and it is astonishing, like you say, they are all but unknown.

      @@skoob-kq7ms Thought that was Midori? Someone somewhere else said Miyako didn't get trained on guitar but instead taught herself, specifically with 4 now popular guitar books (I don't know which ones). I could be wrong, but that sounds like what a classically trained pianist would do. I know Midori started guitar late and went to music school, but I could be wrong re Miyako as I am only going in this case by some other comments elsewhere.

    Miyako and Midori are actually in a very good friendship. They practice together at home. They call each other AIKATA which means partner in Japanese, and stay in the same room while they are on a tour. Swan Song and Revolutionary Etude have the same theme which is death of heroes, dedication and sacrifice, honor and glory. Check the story in the background of Revolutionary Etude. Miyako's favorite composer is Rachmaninov, and she actually plays live Piano Concerto No.2 in CD The Invitation To The Theatre but no movie clip though.

    The Chopin piece Miyako (guitar/keyboards) plays in the intro is "Etude OP10, No. 12," known as the "Revolutionary Etude."
    In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, in what was called the "November Revolution" but ended in failure due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He has no place to return to. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agent presented "Etude OP10, No. 12" in Paris. Because of the agent's exaggerated publicity, people called this piece "Revolutionary Etude.
    Miyako composed "Swan Song" based on this "Revolutionary Etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony.
    Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude" and inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite "Swan Lake.
    "SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim their homeland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES could complete.

  • @GrayFox14
    @GrayFox14 Год назад +16

    Thanks for the reaction! "Etude Op.10, No.12" ( or "Revolutionary Etude") by the Great Polish composer Frederic Chopin, which was written in 1831 and is dedicated to the Polish patriots who raised an uprising (1830-1831) against the Russian Empire, whose troops occupied Poland.
    "Swan Song" ( lyrics - Asami / music - Miyako) from LOVEBITES third studio Album "Electric Pentagram" (2020). For many centuries (starting from Ancient Greece) there is a legend, according to which Swans, non-singing, "silent" birds, acquire a voice a few moments before death, and this dying singing of Swans is amazingly beautiful.
    "Etude" by F. Chopin and "Swan Song" are dedicated to the warriors who died in battle. Therefore, at the concert, "Etude" and "Swan Song" are played together.
    In an interview given after the release of the "Electric Pentagram" album, Asami (a former ballerina, studied classical ballet for about 16 years before becoming a singer) said that when she wrote the lyrics of the song, she was thinking about the famous ballet P.I. Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake" . During the performance of the song, Asami imitates the Swan (hand movements). And in the final part (piano Miyako), symbolizing the "death of the Swan", Asami depicts the dying Swan on stage. Because the camera at the end of the song is focused on Miyako playing the piano, Asami's "death of the Swan" was not captured on video.
    Asami added some Scandinavian mythology (Valhalla) to the lyrics. The attitudes towards death among the Japanese Samurais and the Scandinavian Vikings were very similar. For Samurais and Vikings, death in battle with weapons in their hands is a death worthy of a male warrior. Death in battle is better than death from old age in your bed. All Vikings dreamed of dying in battle because then they could go to Heaven, to Valhalla (the Hall of those killed in battle warriors) where they would meet God Odin and other Vikings who died in battles.

    17:41 Absolutely true! I got to know them (not personally, but, you know, as a band name) about 6 weeks ago, having no clue of their existence (several years then!), altough I have been a Metalhead for 35 years now. Two weeks were enough for me to listen to each and every song of them at least once, and to recognize their uniqueness and excellence.
    I have no clue, how their management plans to get them into this world. By "word of mouth" only? I mean, they have a devoted international fanbase ("The Wolf Pack") which does not stop to mention them ("How do you find out, that someone is a Lovebites Fan? - He simply tells you."), but... OMG... Sometimes it seems to me like "criminal negligence", that they are still extremely unknown in the world, although word of their excellence is passed on and on. 🐺

    I was told Miyako writes all the music. I recently saw her talking "guitars" on an older video on youtube. She apparently is a complete self-proclaimed nerd of all things guitars. To the point that she puts Capacitors in the back of her guitars to change the tone. I mean she can do it herself but she usually has a roadie or the guy at the guitar store do it. But to prove she can do it, she got out a screwdriver and took apart the back and showed us the Capacitor and how tightly packed in it was. She also changed the placement of the nobs and the frets and pickups. So basically she said that guitar you see her playing in this vid she bought because she liked the wood finish. But then she changed just about every piece of hardware on it herself to get the sound she wanted.

    Thank you for actually not butchering "Chopin". For your viewers who may not know, he was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the great classical composers, specializing in highly technical works for piano. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a professional-level concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák and Chopin, as well as the Russian romantic composer Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). For this performance, she actually played the Etude as a prelude, but it’s not normally included in their shows.

So, they seem to know exactly what they are talking about.

      @mbolden1 Год назад +4

      Just in case RUclips takes it down. Here it is in original Japanese. It talks about adding Chopin and Dvorak (in the chorus) into Swan Song. How they don’t necessarily go together normally, but she thought they worked together in this song.
      miyako:クラシック出身の人間なので1曲、クラシックをフィーチャーした曲が欲しいなということで。今回はショパンの「革命」という、みんなが一度は聴いたことがある曲をモチーフにしていて。サビではドヴォルザークの「新世界より」という曲をアレンジを変えて落とし込んでもいて、まさに私が通ってきた好きなクラシックを詰めてみました、という曲になりました。ショパンとドヴォルザークはなんの関連もないんですけどね。なんですけど、私的に相性がいいなと思ったのでミックスしてできあがった曲でした。

      And for anyone that doesn’t want to bother translating that into English:
      Since I'm a classical music person, I wanted one song that featured classical music. This time, the motif is Chopin's "Revolution", a song that everyone has heard at least once. In the chorus, I changed the arrangement of Dvořák's song "From the New World" and incorporated it into the song. Chopin and Dvořák have nothing to do with each other. Anyway, I personally thought it would go well with the song, so I mixed it up and finished the song.
