This explains nothing other than that you figured how to put a zip tie on your suspension

It’s better clear for me. Turn to + and it will get harder, turn to - and it will get softer. But.. I think that depends on the pressure so there’s more to consider but it explains at least the basics 🤷🏻‍♂️

Powerslave271 I think as well from what I've read if you're fairly heavy rider like 100kg+ you turn it to + side if you're fairly light you go to -

That zip needed to calculate SAG % of fork, that must be between 15%-25% of total fork length while you seat on your bike. If the sag is greater or less than that range then you have to set the preload better. If the preload is at minim and your sag is too high, then try to + the preload, if the sag is under 15% let's say 10%, with minim preload, that means you have to change the spring inside fork with another softer.

Theres this thing called sag and the tie shows where the bike sits with rider weight. Want like 15-20% compression when on bike

With the difference you actually don't know what it is: preload makes the fork harder but the spring is as strong as not having preload. You just make it harder to be compressed

It went together easily in less than an hour. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Make sure the front fork is forward or the pedals will hit the front tire. Tires are both a little soft so it needs air before I ride it. The rear wheel didn't come with a clamp regular bolts hold it on. The front had the clamp. No scratches out of box. Rims are a little off with a slight wobble. They could have spent more time with the spoke tool fixing the run out. So far out of the box I'm happy with it. I did replace the pedals with a nice aftermarket set. After riding it a bit my A$$ is a bit sore so I ordered another seat. Overall I'm nearly 60 and didn't ride a bike in 30 years. I like my new 29" Schwinn. It will be used for casual rides with my friend.

It is to check on how preload works. As you can see the zip tie on the first pump, it goes all the way up because the preload is very soft. Now that he turned his preload to harden, he applied the same amount of pump same as the previous pump. Now the zip tie is not really that high like the previous one. It means the Preload is harden
