i think you should listen with headphones on. And also listen to the original recording. The cool thing about this tune is there are two melodies happening simultaneously. also they are employing some dixie land style tactics, like group soloing in some sections.
I recognize Wessel "Warmdaddy" Anderson on alto, and Wycliffe Gordon trombone, but, I don't know any of the gents in the rhythm section, offhand.
