Seeing which laserdiscs graduated from your backlog to your catalog is as much fun as seeing which CDs/albums have made it into your database. With everything you’ve got going on in your life, I’m amazed that you saw 26 laserdiscs in two months. If you ever do a video on time management skills, I’ll be taking detailed notes while watching it. I’ve seen several of the movies in your graduating class. My favorites are “Taxi Driver,” “Midnight Express” and “Logan’s Run.” I really liked “Drugstore Cowboy,” “Sleeping with the Enemy” and “Wild at Heart.” Despite its interesting premise, I thought “Flatliners” fell flat. (Sorry, I couldn’t resist.) As I watched “The Principal” it became sillier and sillier (IMHO). Based on your descriptions, I hope to see “The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane,” “Cat People, “My Life as a Dog” and “The Good Son.” They sound right up my alley. The cast of “The Paper” makes me want to see that one.

Thanks as always - people seem to love the Paper - and if you have an interest in journalism, you may like it better than my wife and I. We liked it, but didn't love it. I agree with you on Principal - became really silly. Flatliners I also agree - should have been better, though I enjoyed it to an extent. Thanks again.

Midnight Express was fantastic, havent seen in like 20 years. I cant imagine Stepfather 2 or Psycho 4 have aged very well hahahha. I saw them both as a kid in the 1980s, fond memories. I just finished watching Rain Man tonight and I gotta say that its one of the most flawless films ever made. Best road trip movie ever. Best movie of the 80s and top ten film of all time. Flawless. Tom Cruise was never better. Saw it in the theater when i was 10 years old and loved it ever since.

I've seen a few of those movies you showed and Wild At Heart I thought was great. I do like David Lynch and most of his films.
Fun Fact: I have a half brother who's dad (Dale Hennesy) was the art director of Logan's Run and was nominated for a Academy Award for that film ( He won the Academy Award for Fantastic Voyage in 1966 but I have no memory of it since I was only 5 years old.) My brother worked at Disney in the imagineering department in Burbank, CA. for over 30 years and has since retired and now lives in Utah.

@@STEVEHEROLDYeah, it's a pretty cool memory as I get older. I did see him a few times and went to his house to see the golden statue which was quite heavy as I remember. I got to go on set of Young Frankenstein when they were setting up for the day ( I didn't see any actors) I just remember walkie-talkies going off all the time along with alarm type bells. Ironically, the last time I saw him I had just seen Logan's Run in Westwood with my brother and we met him for breakfast the next morning. He asked me what I thought of the movie and he began to say how he did not like his time working on that film. He clashed with the director and a lot of his ideas were turned down. He found it frustrating. At the time he was working on King Kong ( Jeff Bridges, Jessica Lange ) and I got to be an extra in a crowd seen with helicopters and a large King Kong statue that partially moved. I do remember it being filmed at the MGM lot in Culver City. And that was my summer vacation in 1976.

lotta great titles. logan’s run i remember seeing as a kid. one of my earliest movie memories. i remember it freakin’ me out. the ceremony part. so many of these titles being me back to the days of working i video store in early 90s. always wondered how Psycho 4 was. Sounds like not worth a view. Good Son was remake of Bad Seed. I like The Principal. Its def over the top but fun. I mean that story has been done a hundred times. I thought that was one of the Landers sisters on cover of Tennessee Buck. I’ve never seen Wild at Heart. Been meaning to. My Life as a Dog is another I’ve been meaning to watch for ages.

No. I buy laserdiscs by the hundreds, and I watch everyone of them. If the disc has rot or won't play - right into the garbage. Love Videodrome though - nice score - I don't have that laserdisc. Where I live, laserdiscs go for very cheap, not much value to them, except for Criterion, Horror, Sci-Fi and boxsets.
