    Beautiful! Love that vintage column head from the Grande Ballroom -- a real piece of local music history. I dig your blue walls -- and the hanging lamp and the starburst clock in the corner, too. (And the tiki mugs!) It's all about the atmosphere, and my place is also full of midcentury modern lamps (including Lava) and analog wall clocks. I have a round mahogany end table from the '50s that goes back as far as my memory does, so I also appreciate your family's octagonal table. Creating the right ambience for listening to music is half the thrill. The little touches of memorabilia make the shelves of LPs and CDs come to life!

    Nice setup. Thanks for sharing. Much love from a fellow Detroit resident. As a young kid in the early 70s I hand the chance to visit the ballroom. Beautiful spot.

      Thanks! I was surprised at how much room is available once all the kids move out. As for the stool, at least it's not UK. Although, unlike the Wolverines, they're not much of a threat to TN 😉

    The room is awesome! The speakers look fantastic and I've had an LP120 and loved it. Dig that you've got a Spin Clean - it's the only 'cleaning machine' I've ever had. Gets the job done. Great posters, and I dig the wall color. Killer space! Great CD shelves, I can't find anything like those.
    Cheers, Tom

    • @DavesBasementGrooves
      @DavesBasementGrooves  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Tom! I've had that LP120 for 8 years now, and besides upgrading the stylus it's been rockin' steady. I found the speakers in a barn a few years back and after a little dusting off they've been just great. I'm with ya on the Spin Clean - worth every penny! The CD shelves I got at home depot - www.homedepot.com/p/Prepac-Black-Media-Storage-BMA-0960/203055213 . They're pretty solid and stable, I'm happy with 'em. Thanks for stopping by!

    Hey ! You have the same Vinyl Junkie sign we have! Very nice room, Hideelee loves the shadowbox!
    Holy crap, a piece of the Grande Ballroom, right in your house. That might have magical powers you haven't unleashed yet. Be careful, could be like the tiki necklace on "the Brady Bunch" Ghostly apparitions of the MC5 appearing in your basement in the middle of the night.
    We did a tour of our music room early in our time here on RUclips also.

    • @DavesBasementGrooves
      @DavesBasementGrooves  8 месяцев назад

      Thank you thank you! Yeah, I have seen that vinyl junkie sign in quite a few other folks' videos haha. I fell in love with that shadowbox when I first saw it - no leaving the store and coming back a week later, I snagged it right away. So, I've been thinking about MC5 haunting the basement - yeah, I'm all in for that lol! I totally appreciate you guys stopping by (all the way from TC!) and commenting. I've subbed ya and am looking forward to diving into your vids. Cheers!

    Nice room and lots of records! I like it. I don't have many vynil records, a little more than 500, but I have 1200 CDs, including DTS, SACD, DVD-Audio, recorded in 5.1 format. I have a similar speaker system, but I made a stand for it so that the tweeters are at ear level, the sound is much better than when it is on the floor. Three meters between the loudspeakers and three meters from the acoustics to my couch, with this placement the best stereo effect. And music in 5.1 format also sounds good with such a geometry

    Nice set up. I cringed there for a minute as you walked past the stool. I was waiting for the infamous Go Blue, but you held back. (I'm from Buchanan... The other side of the state... But a Hoosier fan😅) But seriously... You have some vintage equipment, and picture criticizing punk and David Lee Roth on the floor... Well done. And BTW... That' clock is awesome. Sets off the wall with style and purpose.
