- Been promising the Vinyl Community a tour of my new listening room and I'm finally following through. Shelves are in place, posters are up, "new to me" amp is installed, and in this video I'm sharing it all with you. Enjoy! Thank you for watching!

Super nice space. I used to have a basement room, I loved the way the brick gave it a sort of industrial type feel.
A+++! It's my pleasure to be welcomed to be a part of your record room tour! Great video!
Congratulations Jeff, your music room is fantastic, you have the right environment to enjoy your beautiful collection. Thank you very much for sharing your sanctuary.
Thanks! And thank YOU for watching and commenting. Skål! Jeff
Love the Prince collection
I saw your video about sticker removal. One product you did not mention was "un-du". My go-to sticker remo al product. It is able to remove just about any adhesive based tape or sticker. It even removes adhesive tape from records labled in the 50's! It is also great to remove masking tape from rummage sales.
I initially found it in scrapbooking stores. I most recently have gotten it from Bags Unlimited and have seen it in U-Line catalogs. It works as well as lighter fluid, but smells better. It almost never stains the record jackets, or labels. It will leave a white residue on one's fingers. It is from Minneapolis MN.
I absolutely love your music room! It's really cool to see all your stuff. I like how organized all your music is!! Really very nice looking. I enjoyed the video!🙂👍
Wow!! Big respect to your music room!! Plus!! I’m liking your Prince posters!!
I’m with you. It’s insane that people actually thinks cds are dead. These are the same people would get led down EVERY single path in life and will never think for themselves. I still buy cassettes, dvds, VHS, books, newspapers, etc etc. The same people who want to “Stream” exclusively are the same ones who are hellbent to drive a toy car that runs on batteries.
@iceWaterProductions1: I especially still like the 💿 CDs. I can get them really cheap these days. And they are substantially more reliable than streaming.
I love the incredible amount of different genres you have and yet your number 1 is Prince (same here!). I think that’s the most varied collection I’ve ever seen.
Thanks! Always good to make the acquaintance of another Prince fan. Thank you for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
Thanks for the tour. These are ALWAYS my favorite videos!!!!
Thank YOU. And thank you for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff

Thanks for letting us into your music room! Truly shows that you are like all of us...OCD! Lots of fun!
Thank you for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.....
It is so great to see that your gear doesn't belong to the super expensive high-end category. I like that, it reminds me of my own system...
Hey Jeff, congrats to your new music room. Nice to see all your Prince pieces! Like the promo posters! 💜
Thanks! I've been waiting YEARS to finally have a space that I can decorate however I want. Been packing and hauling posters across the country for decades! Thank you for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
Outstanding music room
Thanks! And thank you for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
Many of your musical tastes align with mine, I have a sizable classical collection of all the same alongside Prince albums myself.
En realidad me gustó que compartas tu colección de vinilos y tú equipo de sonido coincidimos en preferencias tanto musicales como tecnológicas
Impressive collection and music room.
Thanks, Tim! And thank you for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
Great organization! I needed some ideas for shelving and I think I'll follow your lead. Plus, I need to upgrade my turntable. I like your Grafonola (I have one as well).
Thanks, Chuck! The Kallax shelves - reinforced with plywood backing - are great for vinyl. Still working on a solution for shelving the 78s. But I think the smaller 2x2 Kallax cubes will be the way to go. Thank you for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
Jeff, very nice. So many genres to organize. Didn't know that the Archiv label had put out CDs. You mentioned Glenn Gould when I think that you meant Morton Gould for the easy listening/exotica section. Thanks for the tour, Chris
Thanks, Chris! Yes - you are correct. I meant Morton Gould. Glenn Gould is the classical pianist. Have a couple of his records too, and totally misspoke. Thank you for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
HI Jeff, You have a great room there. Enjoy!!!
Thanks, Richard! And thank you for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
Nice tour Jeff. We're almost neighbors.I like close to Wis Rapids.I'm originally from Port Washington,Wi.I'm of course a collector also.Nice equipment.Over the years I've aquired equipment and I have alot of room where I'm at so I have two stereos hooked up along with two surround sounds I know overkill
Hello, Thomas! Thank you! Always good to make new acquaintances in Wisconsin. I don't know about overkill...sound great to me. :) Thanks for watching and commenting. Skol! Jef
BTW tour on your way to having one of the best rooms because you have a true love of all music.
Thanks, IceWater! Skol! Jeff
Very nice, Jeff! Nice work on the new trailer! I would be very interested to get an update video when you get the 78s up and organized. Would love to learn what sleeves you buy for them and anything else that goes along with organizing them.
Thanks, Tyler! Will definitely do an update video once the 78s are shelved. Honestly not sure what shelves I'm going to use. Right now I'm thinking that Kallax 2x2 cubes will be the easiest and most sturdy. And most economical as I have a bunch of smaller pieces of plywood left over from backing the LP Kallax shelves that I can use to back cubes. So, no need to buy more wood. Bonus! Thanks for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
@@ToneInGrooves Sounds like a plan! Looking at the space available in your room for the 78s, I would suggest maybe looking into a couple of Kallax 3x4 cubby units. And you could reinforce the back of those cubes with the leftover plywood you have on hand. Plus always good to have a little extra room as the collection grows.
Nice set up. Have you experimented with "toe-ing" your speakers in toward you since you're sitting near field? Or raising the speakers off the floor? I think you might be surprised how much better your system could sound. Some acoustic treatment would also help, diffusors behind you since you have a good amount of space behind you.
Man I like the room, it's providing a lot of ideas. FYI, I removed all the carpet and am currently on the slab, which I happened to like more. We'll see how it goes, going forward.
Thanks! And thank you for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
Nice soundtracks!
Thanks foor the room tour. Always interestung to watch these videos.
mr. Finglish (Bäd English Recs)
Thanks! Soundtracks is not one of my "go to" areas of music collecting but there are some that enjoy. Thank you for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
I myself would never buy furniture for vinyl. I build my own out of real wood and never stack them to high. But for my CDs (over 2000) I love real wood bookcases. Worth the money. My vinyl collection is over 3500. That's all (from 976-CREOLEMAN)!
Hi Jeff. Very enjoyable video. I think we all have a very small 'contemporary Christian' section 🤣 ah you do chronological too. I do that too. Seems more logical to me too as does an artiste then 'related', or different genres/phases of my life e.g. grunge, indie/shoegaze, different dance genres. Good to know someone else does this too! I have one cube of current things in rotation and new stuff to listen to. Then a section (or boxes) of things that I might sample. Interesting you separated funk white from black I think you need to change that it's 2022 mate 🤔 ...........
Re: cats. To distract said area I put scratching post/catnip in front of shelves it may work.
Hey Jeff, great video. I love your Ikea Shelving. Can you tell me which model those are? I'd like to get some for my new collection.
Hi Mark! Kallax shelves from IKEA, the 2 cubes by 4 cubes version, and I added plywood backs to reinforce them. Thanks for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
Nice room, how is the slap echo without any acoustic treatment????
Where did you buy that awesome cd rack? I need one like that. Ty!
I honestly don't remember. I bought it online at least 10 years ago. I thought maybe from Deep Discount. I may have. But looking on their website today I don't see any DVD/CD shelves or storage racks. It's been a great shelf. Taken apart, moved, and put back together numerous times. Still holding together! Thanks for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
I had the same question, just seeing this 5 months after you posted it. I would LOVE one like this, too bad you don't remember. The cd hasn't died, but I think the rack availability has 😞. Now THOSE need a Revival!!!
I like your collection, I can show it to my wife and say, see I don’t have a problem! 😏
Yep. There's always a collector who's further off the rails! Ha! Thanks for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
Outstanding Jazz CD collection sir! I have those same JSP boxes. Are they cool or what?
Hello, Ed! Yes they are! Great sets with fantastic sound - and very reasonably priced. Definite bargains! Thanks for watching and commenting . Skol! Jeff
Great to see the new room Jeff, looks excellent. Do you have enough room for all those Shellac? It is in the basement, I didn’t have very good luck down there so hopefully you house is up high and dry.
Thanks, Steve! Yeah...I think of you often when my mind wanders to worrying about water in the basement. The house is on a hillside, so probably not a probability. But never say never. Thank you for watching and commenting. Greatly appreciate it. Skol! Jeff
Hi I’m new subscriber! Love the your set up! It’s sooo nice! So up my alley! I am also a big prince fan! 💜 those posters and all are amazing! If you have any extra duplicates would you consider selling any of the prince ? I’m in awe 😱
Hello, Linda! Thank for subscribing. Thank you for watching and commenting. Always great to make the acquaintance of other Prince fans. Unfortunately I don't have dupes of the posters. Lucky to have the ones I do. Been storing them in tubes and hauling them across the country in every move - for decades now! Happy to finally have some of them up on the walls. Thanks, again! Skol! Jeff
Your music room is an awful lot tidier than mine !!
Thanks! And thanks for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
I can't tell if you like Prince
Where did you that CD rack?
Bought it on line years ago - like probably 12 years ago. I don't remember where - but I think it was Deep Discount. Last I checked they did't have storage racks on their website anymore. Sorry I can't be of more help. Thanks for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
DC Talk!
CDs, cassettes, vinyl, etc. Everything, why limit your formats? Room for everything in the basement, mine as well. Double cassette, CD player, TT, BDP. Missing? R-T-R? 8-track? Oh well!
So many formats, so much music, and so little time. Thanks for watching and commenting. Skol! Jeff
