And I love Africa Twin - very balanced design though the wheel size is far from my liking. If Honda ever makes this bike with 19/17 inch wheels, tubeless and 120/180 width I will buy this bike with no hesitation.
Hmm, you are right. I also like gs but there is to many buts for this price, wheel size and geometry is superb but why the shaft drive is not as reliable as honda crosstourer? And that stupid speedo in UK with all speed cameras on your ass is really a pain. I do not care for cruise control so KTM is going to be my new bike - perfect geometry for one and two up, super wheel size for todays shit roads, best wheel width for grip, half naked build up, bar size, steel rally frame, super lights, best brakes. Tomorrow I am pulling the trigger I think and getting this 1190 Adv. Hope I will love it and it stays with me for a few good years. Thank you for your input. Rgs. TomB
Hi Tom. It is hard question to answer. I really like the GS look, riding position and boxer sound. However the GS gearing is terrible. And all this stories with rusty engines and final drives being replaced under warranty by BMW on almost new bikes. How come you can pay £15k for the bike and suffer such inconvenience! KTM 1190 is so smooth with gears and has extremely light clutch. And the engine has more than enough power (150 bhp). You've got all the farkles GS has apart from cruise control. A bit taller than GS but not a drama for me. It is really hard choice. If I wasn't put off by reliability issues I would have chosen GS but my son has KTM (Duke 125) so I may join the "Ready to Race" team someday... :-) Or I can end up with Africa Twin which I think I like most so far.
bought mine two weeks ago , same color, had to grow on me. the hight of the seat took some getting used to. the engine is freaking awesome
