@6:02 Just keep in mind... the VK4 (remote head) is much lighter than the K4. The VK4 will be getting it's own slimmed down chassis - probably something like the Flex Maestro.

Yes, Elecraft build radios in the USA. The KX2 is one of the best portable radios you can get. And, I love my K4D it’s just amazing very easy to use for any mode. You can run digital modes over ethernet too.
That K4 is NICE !! Excellent video, it was fun watching you drool all over the K4.

I was a Yaesu man for 30 yrs until I owned a K3 , totally change my mine. , never go back

How well would the antenna work on the 705??
Not sure. I've never used it. I don't know if it needs a tuner or not.
I use the AX1 with a 705. It works just fine, they sell a tripod adapter for it and I put it on top of a Manfrotto Pixi tripod. I do cheat and use a tuner with it so I don't have to mess with the whip length.
