I love these types of videos because it furthers my narrative that there is no real difference between a modern PSA 9 and 10. Unless it is way off centered, nobody can really tell the difference. Which baffles me that people continue to a premium on a 10 when they can get the same looking card MUCH cheaper in a 9. For example that Fleer Jordan PSA 10 goes for $200+ where the 9 goes for $30. No one can tell the difference between these cards but the 10 is 5X more? Lol

I once got a 10 on a 1989 Hoops Jordan. I was practically doing cartwheels in my yard afterwards.
Jordan 10s are probably the best feelings no matter the card

Crazy on Shaq 6. The centering isn't even bad at all on the 6. As for that card, I've sent in countless.. the black background can have white spots or finger prints.. but man a 6???

I grade a lot of 80’ and 90’s. I have learned never to send in with ultra modern. Seperate the wemby’s and wait for a few others and split into seperate orders. I agree that some of those 90’s cards of your were sharp, but when the grader looks at them vs Wemby’s they just look mint and not gem mint. Against each other, a few would have gem’d. did you get the cards 'cleaned'? Sometimes there's surface issues, fingerprints, etc that drops the score. I've also had some 7s, cracked them, then took it to a pro cleaner, and they showed me the issues, fixed them, resend, got 10s.
Maybe with a massive card but no just use my own micro fiber cloth
Yeah, my Jordan cards got undescribable 8s too. Some made no sense at all. They seem to be hammering Jordan lately.

I would love to trade with other graders as I know for certain a large majority of high ups at PSA are big Jordan collectors and controlling tens are so important... Which is why PSA 9s shouldn't sell at 85 percent discount from a ten.

t/b centering on that first 1991 Jordan is way off -- most people get those wrong...look how much more red is at the bottom than at the top...accurate grade...I see many get these wrong -- on the first Shaq 1b card, look at the banner things pointing to the side at the bottom of the card...the one on the left is closer to the left border than the one on the right is closer to the right border, so entering puts it into a 9 holder...t/b centering get you on the first 1990 Fleer Jordan as well? Looks like more space on the bottom than at the top? If you don't have one, get one of those centering tools...they will save you a lot of headache

Yea it’s always fun. Trying to get as many Jordan PSA 10s as possible.
I have cards in my collection with visible faults (bent corner, print stain, etc.) that have higher grades than cards that look flawless to me. So who knows. Can definitely be frustrating.

I've found 90s stuff to be very tough, plus PSA is a pain in the butt. You almost have to start a grade lower with stuff 30 years old and assume surface issues. That's my minimal experience.

Your asking what do we see but we arent using microscopes and we cant see the surface. But, let me yell from the roof tops!!!! As long as we allow grading companies to have their own Auction houses . If they grade cards lower that means the pop stays low. That means they grade their cards higher to get premium prices.Makes Sense!!! The grading companies should be made iilegal to sell in any form just because you use a different name should not matter.

this is the exact reason i dont send my cards for grading waste of money that 7 was a ten for that year it seams the older the card they automatic bring the grade down i see this on every video card holders do its crazy that people still send thier card to a scam stealing mney i bet when they grade thier cards they get 10 tens cause i seen ten graded by psa that are 6 its a scam
I think there are some ongoing lawsuits against PSA for the things you mention.
the 6 and 7s could have creases on the back but imo non of those are actually worth grading

Stop whining about it, you know the older cards are harder to grade and honestly it all depends on the grader that day. Also cracking a low graded card to sell raw is a slimeball move, I hope you ruin the whole thing trying to crack it. 😂

PSA sucks. I quit sending to them after the same bs. CGC and SGC actually grade correctly

@@TheSportsCardTeachers eventually it could be if people would value those grading companies like they do with PSA. I’d rather get a 9 or 10 from cgc or SGC than a 6 from PSA for no reason. The 9 or 10 will have a higher ROI than the PSA 6.
And whose to say joe blow doesnt sneak in his back pocket a '86 jordan that will grade a 6 then the day comes that a '86 fleer jordan comes in looking a 9 or 10 grade . Joe blow has been waiting for this and does the switch-a-roo .Customer gets back a grade 6 saying i dont remember that ding corner ( yea because it wasnt there) and Joe Blow sends the stolen one in to psa to grade under an alias name .Gets it back 9.5 . .5 taken off for having stolen fingerprints on the front. Just saying !!!! Biggest scam artist is PSA as long as we allow it.Beckett not to far behind
One would hope that security in place and that would never happen but you could be right
