    Thanks for all these great tutorials because... I am ready...I have the 99% alcohol, I have the proper side of the paper...but I have to share a good laugh at me. When I was 1st reading about compressors..I misunderstood about the power - PSI - I told you I wanted 150 PSI...when I saw the size of that compressor...I laughed and laughed... That size compressor would most likely blow a hole in the paper!! Maybe you don't remember...but it is still very, very funny! Go ahead and laugh (at me)....laughing is good for us!! Your work continues to be very beautiful and your teaching style is wonderful too! Alice K

    Wondering about your airbrush. Mine makes a loud noise all the time as soon as I turn it on; yours purrs quietly only when you actually blow the air. What makes these airbrushes behave differently, do you know?

      It's hard to say. It could just be the brand you have or you could have a leak. Check your hose to make sure it's on tight on both ends.

    What is snow cap a paint or ink ?

    • @VivoVintageDesigns
      @VivoVintageDesigns  2 года назад

      Snow cap is a mixative (ink). It's thicker than regular inks.

  • @sallybilodeau2817
    @sallybilodeau2817 2 года назад

    Can you use rubbing alcohol for this? (novice here!)

    • @VivoVintageDesigns
      @VivoVintageDesigns  2 года назад

      Hi Sally. You have to use 91 - 99% isopropyl alcohol. If you use a lesser percentage, there is too much water added. Water and ink don't mix so you will find that the ink does not flow freely

  • @arlenedyne1292

      Yes, you can do this on canvas if you Prime it with Kilz2 first. Works beautifully.

    Just wondering since I’ve been become an adoring fan and still struggling with my flower centers- is there a reason to use alcohol ink to dot versus a white posca pen?

    • @VivoVintageDesigns
      @VivoVintageDesigns  4 года назад

      Thank you! The posca pen lives a solid dot. The snow cap mixative and micro brush leaves a circle with a darker center and by layering it, you get depth, shadow and light.

    • @bkrindy9856
      @bkrindy9856 4 года назад +1

      Well that’s exactly why my flower centers appear flat and lifeless compared to yours😂. No substitute for natural talent here but I will never give up trying. Thanks again for sharing your talent.

    • @VivoVintageDesigns

    Love your videos.. I have learned so much from you
    Question though.. you are dabbing the centre’s with Snowcap is there a substitution for that product?
    I’ve tried Piñata Blanco Blanco but it seeps right into the black ink?

    • @VivoVintageDesigns
      @VivoVintageDesigns  4 года назад

      Thank so much for watching. I'm glad to know you find the videos helpful. Yes, I am using snow cap for the centers. If you don't have snow cap and want to use Blanco Blanco, try spot sealing the area for your center with Kamar Varnish. It will keep the Blanco from absorbing the color under it. You can also try using acrylic paint instead. Sometimes, the snowcap absorbs the color under it and I spot seal the center area so that it keeps its opacity as I apply my layers. I hope this helps...let me know.

      Just tried acrylic paint dabs with a micro stick...worked great.. and a white gel pen worked great too!! Woohoo! Happy camper here thanks to your help!
      One other think I learned from you is to use lots of isopropyl to move the ink to form petals.. my mistake not using enough! Thanks again!

    • @VivoVintageDesigns
      @VivoVintageDesigns  4 года назад

      Thank you. I use photo paper bc it's less expensive. Sometimes the inks have a mind of their own and things dont go as planned. I get huge rolls of photo paper from a vendor at work, so I have plenty of it.

    You are an amazing artist. I’ve just started using AI on tile but want to try the Kirkland paper. Is Kirkland the best paper or do you recommend another? Does paper need the three different stealers as the tile?

    • @VivoVintageDesigns
      @VivoVintageDesigns  3 года назад

      Thank you Kathleen 😊. I like kirkland paper best. It's nice and thick in comparison to others I've tried. You should seal photo paper with 2 or 3 coats of kamar varnish first and then 2 or 3 coats of the kamar uv protection. When working g with tile, after sealing as mentioned above, you can also resin over it as well.

  • @jillf24

    I guess when you use photo paper as opposed to Yupo or plastic type paper, the dots of ink sink in a bit-I use plastic type paper and when I drop the ink-it starts spreading like wild fire!!!

    • @VivoVintageDesigns
      @VivoVintageDesigns  4 года назад +1

      I've used Yupo and tile. The ink does not sink in either surface. The key for me is to have my dryer ready to dry the ink before it starts to get away from me.
