      After doing this practice in the evening, before going to bed, I became drowsy and could already enter sleep and I slept with restful intervals. A lot on my mind since May, I do not know if I sleep. This is a good start.

      This breathing exercise combined with some bedtime yoga and meditation gave me such a good night's sleep last night. I did wake up at half 5 (I usually get up at 7) but I think that's because my body was well rested and ready to wake up. Definitely still went back to sleep until 7 though 😂 thanks for all you do, dude!

    Bro i found your channel a few years ago. I'm Indian so naturally I was a bit skeptical about a European teaching me yoga at first as there's too many unauthentic teachers on RUclips. But have to say, hands down Ur channel is the only one I really connect to now and I feel is so authentic and genuine. Keep up the good work brother 👍

    Thanks for the video. I have some question (1) During inhale for 4 seconds, must I continuously inhale ONCE by nose for 4 seconds or can do it more than once as long as total inhale is 4 seconds? (2) During 8 seconds exhale, must I continuously exhale ONCE by nose for 8 seconds, or can do it more than once exhale as long as total is 8 seconds? (3) I saw some other video, during exhale is via moth, not nose, please clarify. Thanks.

    Do you have any other techniques to help fall asleep? You said this one is called sleeping breath because it helps calm you down. I am one who tosses and turns a lot before I can fall asleep. I tried this last night and it helped calm my thoughts but made me alert so I could not fall asleep. Thank you

    • @DRayCoRpro
      @DRayCoRpro Год назад

      You can try Body scans or Yoga Nidra. Especially Body Scans work for me. For Yoga Nidra there are some for just relaxing and some for sleeping. But also remember that you should not think about sleeping, getting to sleep, how much hours you have left, etc., but instead just let your thoughts come and go. Practicing meditation during the day can probably help to make that easier. Or have something to focus on, for example counting backwards from 1000, or imagining that you are looking at a blue sky with white clouds and each cloud is a thought. And then try to just let them come and go, just observe them. The more you practice the easier it will get, even if it is frustrating at first. Try what works for you and dont think about sleeping too much.

    B&F, Dr. Weil frequently states not to do more than 8 breath cycles in one sitting but I’m not sure why as he doesn’t explain this. You do more than 8 cycles in this video. Have you heard of this caveat and what do you think? Thanks

    • @BreatheAndFlow

      We have not heard of that and don't think it is harmful for most people. But as always listen to your body and proceed mindfully.

      Either way is fine for the exhale. But since you want to exhale slow, we recommend the nose.

      @@BreatheAndFlow Dr. Weil's teaches and demonstrates exhaling through the mouth with the tip of the tongue up and behind your front upper teeth. You said that we can do this for extended periods of time. What are the benefits of doing this breathing exercise longer? Why does Dr. Weil suggest only 8 times max? Thank you for this awesome video. Both of you are my favorite yoga teachers. Namaste

    I think it can be useful and informative to go back to the roots of breathing techniques.
    *Dr. Andrew Weil who originated this breathing technique. **I think it's important to note that he would not suggest doing this for as long as ten or twenty minutes at a time.
