@@seanpuptreacy Lol, I personally would never give this job a try because... Well... But I CAN appreciate the hard work and dedication, the result, and if nothing else watching it from afar is cool lmaooo
Weirdly I'm in the UK, and I watched a vid last week of a fella in the US unblocking storm drains during a downpour. Oh and I watch Salty Cracker as well.
This is my first time seeing roots growing in a manhole but it does make sense, it’s outside, a source of water, and not usually visited or touched. Thanks so much for sharing! Job well done 🙌🏽
The snow oddly was the most interesting part of the video. This although is from a guy living in Scottsdale Az where it's gonna hit 100+ degrees today and I haven't even been in a city that's seen snow this decade.
i already know this channel is about to blow up. I know the drain unblocker channel in Korea is blowing up lol. Watching those drains get unclogged defines a new meaning of Catharcism to me
JEM is no cowboy he did work on our drainage and found out the house builder had not put a drain in from the untitled room.... He lifted our block paving fitted new drain and Replaced all the blocks i would give him 10 out of 10.... Thanks again Jem Phil and jayne
I find it truely amazing that in today age, with pvc available, they still have open air flow connectors to public sewer instead of a pipe with collar connections and sealable cleanouts.
Jem the Root Destroyer and Warren the Spielberg of drainage engineering! *I love that Jenny put her name first though 😊 Lol here in Canada we just got a big dump of snow after a month of warmish weather, They said less than 1cm of snow/rain mix over night and I woke up to about 5 cm of snow on the ground!
Do you do anything to where the roots gain entrance to the pit. I know you cut out as much as you could, but the roots are always seeking water. And they will grow back in a fairly short time.
Ya got a miniature habitat in there. Smells like pancakes with cinnamon. Really enjoy watching what you do and you sanitize the area when you are finished. You're brave lol
Now that's a root!! As far as root problems go this might be one of the better ones right? If all the roots grow in through the manhole they could probably get away with opening the manhole and picking out roots a couple times a year?
Had a similar problem at my mom's place. Was asking the pipe worker what the most common problem for backups is, and he said it's plastic bags and plastic-wrap. So many people flush plastic down the toilet for some reason. My mom lives in California.
I love jobs that get all the muck out, cleaned up and everybody happy! I could do that all day long, but we don't have sewers like this in Arizona or Calif. Good job. Cheers...
@@goofydog2 i dont know anything about european plumbing outside of the similarities it has with us plumbing but it seems the open lines are for venting where as we vent on the roof in the us. So was that a straight-up sewage line in the pit leading away from the house, or was there storm water or gray water (sinks and laundry) feeds going into it as well? Always interesting to see how other countries do this.
A manhole cleaning should be done at least once a year, just like furnaces are tuned up once a year. It's all about being a proactive homeowner to keep £££ down. Well done video !
I'm always amazed by people who don't keep their properties groomed with the vegetation, that they are surpised by insects, plugging, moisture damage, etc.
At 7:50 we can see the approaching snow clouds 😁 🌨❄️. 🤭 - looks like the homeowner will have to have his driveway dug up to find the parent plant that the roots are coming from - obviously the manhole is a source of moisture under the driveway, and the roots have gone straight to it (a source of water as far as they are concerned) not knowing it is the sewer outlet for that house

Is anyone disliking it though. Very important job. Without these guys and others like them, we'd end up knee deep in shit and disease.
True

Looked like some Resident Evil mutation gone wrong and spreading in the manhole.
Let's hope Lady Dimitrescu doesn't come out of that manhole
@@toainsully It would be good for the drainage.
Plot twist: I was *not* a resident evil mutation 😁
Nah that's not a mutation, it's either a hairy arsed ginger drain inspector or an orangutan has got stuck in the pipe.
The scary thing is that you can't see where it came from in the first place 😱
I don't know why youtube put this on my list....but I am thoroughly satisfied at the outcome XD. Well done boys.

Even with PVC, you still have to vent to atmosphere. You do not want it completely sealed. Even the public sewer systems require venting.

Its no different than the work you'd do on sewer lines in az or ca. You just have cleanouts. Pipes that come up from the main sewer line for access
