Ben, being a very logical thinker who can spot a contradiction with he sees it, immediately pushes back by asking Allie how she "squares that circle."

Although Allie was slightly inconsistent about her statements on freewill, she does recognize the gist of what Paul is actually teaching in Romans 9. Paul is teaching consistent double predestination. In fact, Romans 9 rebukes all infralapsarian Calvinists, Arminians, non-Calvinists, and even High Calvinists! Paul is teaching the dreaded doctrine of Equal Ultimacy, where God is indeed the author of sin! How so? Sin is caused by God hardening people’s hearts. He made Pharoah sin...and every time we sin, God made us sin, yet he still finds fault with us. It’s just the way God is. We are all puppets and robots, and the sooner we realize this glorious truth, the better off we will be.

In the Old Testament, God would foretell what was going to happen/how He would either bless or discipline the Israelites based on their choices to obey or disobey Him. “If you do this.... then I’ll do this... if you don’t obey my commands, then I’ll do this...” and so forth. We have a choice to either obey God or disobey Him, believe on His Son as the only means of Salvation, or not. It's super easy to tell people "yeah, you're going to hell, and you are absolutely helpless to do anything about it" when you know it's not going to happen to you. • @ceasedesist9676
      @ceasedesist9676 3 года назад

Cause predestination entails determinism, what you do has only 1 outcome, therefore there is no free will. It's not about the probability of other outcomes but the possibility of there being other outcomes. Even if 99% is skewed to one possibility, the presence of a 1% denotes a free will.

    • @oracleoftroy
      @oracleoftroy 2 года назад +2

I'm not sure what you mean, Calvinism has always affirmed both. Look at the historic confessions for example. For example, the Westminster Confession spends all of chapter 9 laying out the Calvinist understanding of human free will, and in 3.1 it quite explicitly states that God ordains whatsoever comes to pass, and that includes establishing human free will and the liberty and contingency of second causes by what he ordains.
It's typically the non-Calvinists that have a hard time explaining how the Bible can equally credit both God and man for some action, especially when man's purpose is morally evil, yet Gen 50: 20, Job 1, and many other passages has no problem equally crediting man and God while affirming that man meant it for evil but God for good. They seem to believe it is mutually exclusive, so it's either God or man, never both. Or if it is both, it can't be morally asymmetric such that God purposes man's sin for good while man purposes it for evil and God will hold them accountable for that evil.
I think the heart of the debate isn't free will, but is our will free from God. Calvinists answer no, we are contingent creatures created by God and our free will is established by what God ordains. Non-Calvinists tend to not define what they mean by free will but seem to affirm that it is free from God.

Very Good Jay........I have always wondered why the Calvinist thinks that God's sovereignty is threatened by the free moral agency of man.....which by the way, He has designed into our very being. God is indeed....AWESOME!

I love Allie Stuckey, but once again, Calvinism fails to hold up to scrutiny. According to her doctrine, God created certain people specifically to throw them into hell, for the purpose of glorifying himself, yet they are *still* somehow to blame for the transgressions that *God* ordained they would commit before the foundation of the world, and Romans 9 is the defense shield used whenever anybody points out this inconsistency. "God works in mysterious ways" is just another way of saying "I have no idea what I'm talking about."

So I took some theology courses on hermenutics and exegesis and one thing I learned ( amongst many other) is that a single verse must be read in the context of the passage, the passage in the context of the chapter, and the chapter in context of the Book, and last of all the book in context of the Testimony (Old/New) and the Tesstimony in context of the entire Bible. I'm just 17 and things like this are ones I want to be able to discuss w wiser adults.
if Calvinism were true, then why are Christians against abortion? I'm against them, but seeing it from a Calvinist lense, if these babies are killed its because God is allowing it .... so then why should I be pro-life? it's things like this that doesn't make much sense to me

I'm glad to meet you, sister in Christ! I too have been battling with Calvinism since a friend leading a Bible study used my insecurity about intelligence to try and pitch Calvinism to me. We read Romans 9 together and after viewing it in that way I almost became agnostic. It didn't help that ex-calvinists online said, "Calvinists are logically accurate but God is cruel for basically making people to go to hell" and thus they became an athiest or agnostic or that my grandma told me my great uncle studied theology and came out the other end an atheist or that my parents who usually have a lot of Biblical knowledge and wisdom had pretty much no clue what Calvinism was. I was on my own and depressed for a week trying to reconcile God's omniscience and omnibenevolence (sovereignty vs free-will) and some days the only thing holding me back from renouncing my faith was a fear of dying and going to hell, but I've been trying to figure this out as my faith is in jeopardy over this and these videos have been helping me because I thought there was something wrong with me because the Calvinistic presentation of God's character didn't sit well with me and according to my friend, I was supposed to find it 'comforting'. It doesn't make sense to me either. The Bible is so easily misinterpreted especially after being translated into a vastly different socio-linguistic context and I've seen this deceive and tear the body of Christ apart time and time again(over anything from soteriology to pre vs post tribulation and continuation etc.) , this is one of the things that turns unbelievers off big time, breaks my heart and God's, so I think humility and understanding as well as an open heart to hear the Lord is crucial when reading the Bible especially in these end times.

Hi sis. Yo know, John McArthur said: I feel your pain too. That seems to me that he also struggles with this issue. I recommend you to listen to the sermon “Jacon and Esau” by Charles Spurgeon. Also, stick with A W Tozer theology. Also ask yourself why would God use Jonathan Edwards to bring up a revival. And why very notable cristians in the past such as Luther, Calvin, John Bunyan, Spurgeon, George Muller and others like Washer and McArthur hold to this kind of theology. Let me tell you something personal. When I come to a passage where it tells me about human responsibility, I praise God, but when I come to a passage where it says that God chooses whoever he wants, I stop, kneel down and adore God. All this matter just got me closer to God even I don’t still comprehend this very well. Blessings

Dr. Flowers I want to thank you so very much for desiring to continue in fighting the good fight of faith and running the race to the glory of our King, Jesus Christ. God has given you this mission field and I’m grateful you are choosing to be faithful. I am of the young generation (21 yr old) and I have grown up in a Calvinist leaning church. Yet my family has used those teachings we disagree on with our church as a time to search the scripture and know what we believe and why we believe it. I am not one to comment online but I wanted to encourage you, as I have been encouraged by you, that you are not alone in holding to this truth found in God’s word. My family and I have been very blessed and helped by your work. Your resource has been one that has helped me to see and articulate why I believe what I believe found in God’s Word. For anyone else who may read this comment please, please open up God’s word and READ it instead of identifying with the teaching of a mere man. The text is inspired, man is not. The Scripture provides commentary on every work of man not the other way around. Seek to be children of God and follow what Scripture actually says rather than the teaching of John Calvin or Arminias or anyone else. They were men. God is God.
1 Corinthians 1:10-13,17 “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement. For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you. Now I say this, that each of you says, ‘I am of Paul,’ or ‘I am of Apollos,’ or ‘I am of Cephas,’ or ‘I am of Christ.’ Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?…For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.” My plea in quoting this is we are not to be identifying with the teachings of mere men brothers and sisters but we are to be a people who read God’s Word and obey what He says. Dr. Flowers an encouragement I want to add to you sir, is to continue. Don’t give up the fight for truth. “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”(Heb.12:1-2) God bless you sir. And thank you!

The Calvinist has been shoe-horned into their Calvinistic beliefs through the false dichotomy of "synergism Vs monergism" (entirely philosophical terms not found in Scripture). In essence, even if you firmly believe that no one can come to Christ unless the Father draws Him, if you suggest that man has any part in appropriating the free gift of salvation by any response of his own will, that is nothing short of synergism and you are robbing God of His glory. So, not wanting to ever dare do that, the poor fellow tumbles through the monergism trapdoor into the theological framework of Calvinism. That is, they learn to believe that God is 100% sovereign and that sovereignty is best conveyed by something akin to a great lone chess player who simply can't lose because he is in fact calling all the shots...or playing against himself. Yes, every single event in the universe is executed as part of God's sovereign will. When you extrapolate this out, it is an extremely dark view of God. Because the other side of that coin, by necessity, has Satan's rebellion, to Adam and Eve's fall to every heinous act of sin to every soul that will be eternally tormented in hell, in fact, all part of God's sovereignly preferred script to glorify Himself. Yes, I'm afraid in their bid to preserve God's sovereignty the Calvinist violates God's equally important attributes of holiness, justice and love.

@Rubes Ruiz you meant False doctrines. Paul didn't teach False doctrines to anyone. Exactly ZERO apostles followed anything even remotely close to Calvinism. They went to everybody and spoke THESE WORDS, "Christ died for your sins".
A calvinist CANT DO THAT! Because he doesn't know if the person in front of him is Elect or not. The calvinist thinks Christ only died for the Elect, and therefore they are forced to either LIE to people or proclaim another Gospel and be accursed as Paul said they would be in galatians 1.8-9.
The only thing a calvinist can say is "Christ died." which is meaningless to the person in front of him. "How does that benefit me?". ....."well you'd first have to be chosen before the foundation of the world. And if you weren't, then Christ's death doesn't matter. But if you ARE Elect.... then i guess Christ's death STILL doesn't matter because you've always been secure thanks to an arbitrary coin toss."
The Gospel in calvinism is, "you might be elect!" And THAT my friend, is a gospel the apostles never preached. They looked at every single person and said "Christ died for YOUR sins." Because calvinism is false.

Yet one of you is a devil.” In Luke its stated that Satan entered Judas, so if you’re saying that Judas is a chosen elect, saved by God, yet he was demon possessed and did not produce good fruit, sold out Jesus for less than $500 and even committed suicide after the death of Christ, you’re also saying Jesus has a demon as well if you’re going to say that born again believers have demons, which obviously Judas was not born again. This also debunks the false demon doctrine that Born again children of God can have demons.

I can’t believe I came across this. The word of faith church literally (I mean in the most literal sense) brought me to spiritual and physical death. By Gods grace I survived and while I learned a lot at a great church that loves Calvinism, the Soteriology doesn’t sit well with me either. My pastor is actually the creator, if I’m not mistaken, of red grace media who directed American Gospel. I’d love to talk to you and your wife as you mentioned that you want to get your message across. Maybe even do an interview. I’ve shared some pieces of my testimony on RUclips and now a little more so on Instagram but I feel so alone in my faith. I can’t do word of faith which is 90% of modern churches (it’s just packaged in balloons and bright lights) and as much as I’ve learned in my Calvinist church (I’m so grateful for these truly amazing people) it feels wrong to commit when I’m not a believer of Calvinism and I haven’t even told them because I can’t articulate it well. And where else would I go? It feels like I’ll never find a church where I fit. All of them are some funky denomination. I’d love to connect; again, with you and your wife to keep everything appropriate even just for 15min to see what benefit we can cause

The only reason he died for you was to show how great and powerful He is, ie his glory. I could not digest that because it was not true, it contradicts all of scripture. God definitely would never do anything that would disglorify himself. As well as God is glorified whether a person goes to he'll or heaven. Yet the Bible says time and time again that God would prefer for his glory to be shown through salvation and redemption rather than punishment.

Leighton, thank you for all you do! I believe in your mission (though sometimes I wish you would take a bit of a harder line with Calvinists. You are very kind...almost to a fault.) I'm thankful you shared your heart and your struggles with your listeners.
Don't be discouraged. I believe most non-Calvinists don't coalesce around the issue because most have not heard of Calvinism and/or don't really know what Calvinists believe. Unless you are part of a denomination which is being threatened by Calvinism, such as the SBC, or are a former Calvinist, you are unaware of the danger it presents. I am neither and had not heard of Calvinism until about 13 or 14 years ago when a friend encountered the teaching and became convinced his struggle to live out his Christian faith must be due to the fact that he was not one of the elect, God hated him, and he was cursed by God - not because of prior life experiences and lack of a Christian support system (his job necessitated a lot of traveling which made fellowshipping with other Christians very difficult). I watched Calvinist teaching destroy his faith.
I'm fairly new to your channel, but have become a fan of sorts. I've just sent a small donation and will try to do so again soon. Keep up the good work. Your voice is needed. I am sorry that you have not thought this through, biblically.
My stance is Biblical, logical, rational, and the only Biblical stance there is.
YOUR immediate error is to say that believing 'something' false does not make a person a non-Christian.
Well, that is too broad a statement. In fact, it is so broad, that it has no real meaning.
Does believing that God is a nebulous energy field make one a non-Christian?
      YES!
Does believing that Jesus did not come to die for 100%, did not die for 100% and did not want to die for 100% of humanity make one a non-Christian?
YES!, but that is only part of it.
Calvinism teaches a 100% false god that mimics the true God.
Calvinism teaches in very clear language and examples and confessions, that Calvigod is the one and only root of sin, he is the cause of all sin, he brings about all sin!
THAT is not the nail in the coffin, it IS the coffin.
There is NO form of Calvinism that claims that every single bit of what comes to pass is not subject to the Calvinistic sovereignty of Calvigod. No rogue atoms, so to speak.
In other words, Calvinism holds to a false god and a false Christ. This makes it antichristian doctrine, heretical and no one who holds to it is saved, unless they are not caught up in it, holding it absolutely, but are on a journey, learning, growing and leaving behind error once it is shown to be error.
Jame White? John MacArthur? John Piper? RC Sproul?
ALL unsaved. They have, each and every single one of them, been corrected, fully, truthfully, contextually, and lovingly so. And they reject the true Jesus, who wants all to come, who died for all, whose father is not the root cause of any sin!
As far as other types of doctrinal error, such as if Mary was a virgin after the Birth of Jesus until her death, well you are right, THAT is not a salvific issue.
The trinity understanding is also not a salvific issue.
If one thinks modalism is true, or duality, God and the Sprit are the same thing and Christ is a second person, instead of 3 persons, is not damnable, either. the bible gives no hint that proper understanding of the Being of God is salvific, but many who accept the unsaved heretic Calvinist will proclaim as damned one who is not a trinitarian.
I know that no false God saves, Believing in a false Christ cannot save. You seem to teach otherwise.

It’s trickling down in all the congregations, even Pentecostals. The ignorance on this topic is huge and these theology is entering in disguise not using the word Calvinism or mentioning the TULIP, but slowly teaching the concepts. You are right , many young people are embracing it while many others are feeling condemned and disappointed. This has to stop. I feel overwhelmed too and don’t know what else to do, but to keep talking about it at church. But sadly it’s already inside the church . I attend a Spanish speaking congregation, and it’s amazing to see how much the internet is influencing the Spanish community with these Calvinistic worldview. You are right about the internet being saturated by Calvinist websites and videos that answers to most of the questions Christians have. Sadly many of us don’t go FIRST and foremost to the WORD, THE BIBLE, but seek then Internet first 😞 sad sad. That’s why many are embracing the calvinistic concepts and answers for the questions they have.
I know the thing is that we need more material in Spanish. All these Calvinist teachers in the United States have influence a lot of Spanish-speaking pastors in Latin America and also Spain. And sadly the Latin community are listening to these pastors (MIGUEL NUNES, JUAN MANUEL VAZ, PAUL WASHER, SUGEL MICHELEN etcetera) because they do have the resources and the books.
Don’t throw your hands up, keep going. And if you get a chance to do these in Spanish or translated, it will be great. I will also recommend doing more or like a five minutes videos to answers to typical and common questions.

Calvinism reminds me of this song by Depeche Mode called “blasphemous rumors”. It goes:
“I don’t want to start any blasphemous rumors, but I think that gods got a sick sense of humor, and when I die I expect to find him laughing.”
This is the Calvinist “god” IMO. The more and more I’ve studied it, the more and more i disagree with it. That’s not the Merciful, long suffering God of the Bible. God doesn’t delight in the suffering of the wicked so why would he solely create them simply to destroy and not have mercy on them? Not offer them a way out? Sounds contradicting. Sounds like human nature, not Gods nature. Sounds like how man would do “justice”. mercilessly

We could see hell as mercilessly punishing sinners therefore assuming that it isn’t the nature of God but that’s reading into the text is it not? God is wrathful how is that merciful? Seems that there is a misunderstanding of the fullness of Gods nature he is holy so beyond our knowledge it is holy that everyone in hell is God rightly deciding that judgement so for them to be in hell is a holy choice for God is the perfect judge. People in hell can disagree with Gods sovereignty all they want it won’t matter.

A Calvinist motivational speaker? What on earth?

It's a contradiction. I love Allie Stuckey. I have no doubt she's a wonderful family woman. She is *deeply* loving, and gracious. She's also very funny. She is a Godly woman. But she's *wrong* on predestination and the doctrine of salvation. That's why we pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who have been led astray.

Thank you sir for your tireless efforts in fighting this unbiblical doctrine! You are more gracious than i in dealing with this. I find myself getting very angry with the scholars who teach this because of what it implies about our wonderful Savior. Keep it up brother! May God richly bless you!

Perhaps you can partner with my alma mater Liberty University or even start from scratch to hold a couple days long convention for those like-minded millennial/young people in which you and others preach, use it to network, and provide equipment tools to this generation. I would love to be a part!
