As someone who's had a bad history of lies and coming out clean, it honestly makes me sick that Destery would make a video like this and attempting to sugar coat his actions and dancing around the issue by being vague and giving out half truths in the hopes of making himself look like the "mature innocent adult" who's willing to "admit his mistakes and debunk his allegations." God this reminds me of the CreepsMcPasta accusations. He was accused of grooming and maintaining an inappropriate relationship with a child, and the evidence in favor of it was extremely weak, and courtesy of Pastel Belle, who's a scam artist. But then his response was so full of weird appeals and patchy logic that I started to side against him because of it.

She's scamming them too) The evidence given was text screenshots (which are just easy to fake in general) and that a channel the victim couldn't access was hers on nothing besides the voices sounding vaguely similar (because matching voices between a grown woman and a child on a terrible mic is nooot easy) But then his response was to confirm that it was her channel, that he did have contact with her, but that it must have been an impersonator that groomed her. Developed a specific typing style So that people would have a harder time framing him for things (which in turn means that if he *did* want to be inappropriate, he could intentionally shift his writing style to cast doubt on the screenshots). Behind that, Slimebeast on RUclips debunked a lot of his smaller claims and pointed out inaccuracies in his timeline s. Along with verifying the amount of collaboration between "real cmp"" and the victim's channel, which is enough That if she was talking to a fake,one of them would absolutely notice that A. She thinks they're dating. Or B. That there's two entirely different Skype accounts for mcp she's interacting with. So It's pretty likely he did it at this point, at least in my eyes

I think the difference is that Ponder/B takes the claims and dives further in, talking to others involved, checking through laws, etc. Hell in the whole Spocter situation she actually got in contact with a lawyer. Most drama channels just talk about the claims and maybe add in their own opinions while Ponder makes her content interesting and entertaining ^^

As someone who's had a bad history of lies and coming out clean, it honestly makes me sick that Destery would make a video like this and attempting to sugar coat his actions and dancing around the issue by being vague and giving out half truths in the hopes of making himself look like the "mature innocent adult" who's willing to "admit his mistakes and debunk his allegations."
There's being genuinely remorseful to your past and then there's pretending to be sorry with no guilt or shame whatsoever. If you're going to take accountability with your actions, open up your closet and be honest. You can't continue your life as if nothing happened without attempting to setting things right and facing accountably of your troubles. Putting on a show of you acting like you've "sorta" did bad things and manipulating the story to your favor isn't enough to stop the controversy. You have to face the music.
I understand that what Destery did is much worse and considered a CRIME. But if you're going to have a career and you worry that you'll lose it all from a scandal, then maybe you shouldn't stoop low enough to do naughty things with minors. Fan or not.

Musicians and content creators I enjoyed when I was in like 8th grade (Blood on the Dance Floor, Destery Smith, Cryaotic, etc.) getting outted for grooming (or worse) minors makes me so sick. Young people like me looked up to these men so much and they took advantage of fans who were completely vulnerable to them.
I’m so glad I don’t know all the people Ponder or B talks about in these videos.... I don’t watch their videos and never have heard of them before. God this reminds me of the CreepsMcPasta accusations. He was accused of grooming and maintaining an inappropriate relationship with a child, and the evidence in favor of it was extremely weak, and courtesy of Pastel Belle, who's a scam artist. But then his response was so full of weird appeals and patchy logic that I started to side against him because of it.
So were they false? Against CMP? And he was just weirdly sketchy?
@@enderwalkgang there isn't a verdict and likely won't be unless something unforeseeable happens. I say it was weak because pastel belle, the interviewer, is known for doing no vetting of the victims she interviews and faking contact with the FBI, along with making testimony inadmissible in court by publishing it (though I should clarify this Doesn't mean everyone she interviews is a liar. She's scamming them too)
The evidence given was text screenshots (which are just easy to fake in general) and that a channel the victim couldn't access was hers on nothing besides the voices sounding vaguely similar (because matching voices between a grown woman and a child on a terrible mic is nooot easy)
But then his response was to confirm that it was her channel, that he did have contact with her, but that it must have been an impersonator that groomed her. Along with weird appeals to emotion like saying his friend didn't think he was that type of person (sorry it's been ages since I saw that video, but it's something like that), nitpicking the language used In screenshots and saying that he... Developed a specific typing style So that people would have a harder time framing him for things (which in turn means that if he *did* want to be inappropriate, he could intentionally shift his writing style to cast doubt on the screenshots). Behind that, Slimebeast on RUclips debunked a lot of his smaller claims and pointed out inaccuracies in his timeline s.
Along with verifying the amount of collaboration between "real cmp"" and the victim's channel, which is enough That if she was talking to a fake,one of them would absolutely notice that A. She thinks they're dating. Or B. That there's two entirely different Skype accounts for mcp she's interacting with.
So It's pretty likely he did it at this point, at least in my eyes

As someone who used to be a fan of Destrey, him also turning out to be a piece of shit just broke me. His videos helped me through a lot of shit when I was in high school. I actually trusted him, but now I'm glad that I never tried to reach out to him.
To the victims of Destrey, I am so sorry that he hurt you. I hope you are doing better now, but if you aren't (which I would not be surprised because trauma caused by grooming fucking follows you), I am open to talking to you. If you wanna vent, then vent, please don't blame yourself for the things that he did to you. He should have known better, he should have put up a wall and said, "hey, i am an adult, you are a minor and a fan of mine, we therefore cannot date." Just a quick question, is the green highlight in your character’s hair their eye? Because that’s really fucking cool-
overall he likely would have gotten a better response if he just admitted that he did something wrong. Of course it wouldn’t immediately make him innocent but it would be better than him avoiding the most severe accusations he received.
One thing I noticed in the video is that he doesn't seem to be looking at the camera and speaking truthfully from his own words, he keeps side glancing at something and what I can only assume is a script because he didn't seem to stumble or anything like he usually does when his videos are unscripted.

I think the difference is that Ponder/B takes the claims and dives further in, talking to others involved, checking through laws, etc. Hell in the whole Spocter situation she actually got in contact with a lawyer. Most drama channels just talk about the claims and maybe add in their own opinions while Ponder makes her content interesting and entertaining ^^

Personally, if I thought proving my innocence would throw someone under the bus, I'd go as follows:
- if they too are innocent, i will also try to prove their case as well.
- if they are guilty, screw them.
- if they are the accuser, then i already have permission to show it.
- if they are not gulty, but would otherwise be incriminated by, say, something embarrassing, like if, say, someone came out to me but is in the closet elsewhere, I'd mention the name is changed before showing it, and actually change the name
And if i honestly thought nothing could change anyone's mind, I wouldn't bother with a video explaining it. If I'm innocent, and explaining my case won't matter, then I'd probably lay low and build a case up. Maybe try to ask you for help on it, since you HAVE helped innocent people before.
I do understand that nothing to hide isn't nothing to fear, but the court of public opinion doesn't.
