Didn't know you were a programmer. This is amazing. You thought of a way you wanted to edit your photos. Didn't find a good enough solution so you went on and built your own tool for that. And then went on and gave that tool for free so anybody can use it. It's so cool to see when knowledge from one area can have an impact on another.
Thank you for the kind words :) It was definitely very interesting to combine these two parts of my life haha and I am looking forward to doing it more in the future 😉
I've never donated before but this is definitely a situation where I think I should. Appreciate the effort you put into this and keep up the great work!
Incredible work, this alone puts you in the photography youtubers hall of fine. You're a heaven send! I think I'm gonna have to buy your presets just to support this awesome work :)
I use darktable so unfortunately I can't use your lightroom presets but you deserve some compensation for sure. This is the first time I've ever donated on RUclips.
I am very impressed. Definitely a feature that LR users would appreciate. Personally, this video also made me feel better: I now see that my cumbersome analogue photography process (shooting with 40+yr old gear + home developing, scanning, retouching...) can be transferred into the digitally world to. 😂 Keep up the good work
The combination of future tech FX and coding coming together to produce better analog style photos is the best. Loved it and can't wait to try out the amazing tool you made!
yoo you did an amazing job with that. The quality of halation is nice... free stuff instead of paying dehancer or other methods of adding halation... Also the fact that it's this simple to use and don't mess the images quality is crazy. Thank you!
I thought about that, but ultimately decided against it so it scales better when you import photos with wider aspect ratios like panoramas, and this way it's also better for mobile :)
Hm, I didn't complicate it in any way and simply intuitively used the glow effect, which turns red + I used multiplication. It works on both photo and video. Where the hell is the black man putting his hands in front of him?
great vid! super impressive. i know there are a lot of talented content creators out there in the photography space, but i think you are one of the few who could code and combine photography and programming (and make something for free). that's cool!
Damn this is awesome, thanks for creating this free tool and website! Super frickin cool, and frankly just impressive you did it outside of a preexisting software. So I ended up 3d printing the disposable lens from last video, which is super cool and had a fun time experimenting with it, but I discovered something about how disposable cameras work that kind of prevents getting an identical image... the pressure plate that holds the film in place is actually curved inward in disposable cameras, which is done to counteract some of the inherit distortion present in the plastic lens. But since a digital sensor is obviously flat you get all the distortion, CA's and ghosting, lack of resolution towards the edges, etc., that aren't necessarily present in the film photos the real camera produces. I think this might possibly be solved by using a pair of lenses arranged symmetrically like a double gauss lens, but I am unsure. It would also reduce the focal length by half from 30mm to 15mm. Anyways, it is super cool as it is and just a fun lens to experiment with and get a certain look regardless, but thought you might be interested in what I discovered in using it. Thanks for all your hard work, it's awesome what you come up with and I love your videos!
Thank you!! I've seen other designs online that actually use two lenses and that would definitely be interesting to try. I might revisit it again some time in the future for a version 2 :)
THANK YOU for making it open source aswell. Definitely gonna study it and try to build something similar in a faster language/web framework such as C# for local use (if that's okay, I couldn't find any licensing/ editing stuff in your repo)
It's licensed under the GPL-V3 license so feel free to use/study the code :) If you use any of it you just need to make your project open source as well.
Wow, this is amazing! Thanks for making it open source, really appreciate it :) Would be so cool to add more features like colored overlays (green / red etc to simulate film), LUTS, etc. I'm a web programmer myself and would love to help. Will fork and check it out!
Hey, this is really awesome!! Wondering if I could somehow have or make a copy of the entire thing to run locally in the case that it dies out at some point? Thanks :)
Theoretically yes, if I built it as a native application for Windows or Mac OS and implemented GPU acceleration it could be faster. But that would bring a whole lot of challenges because building cross-platform desktop applications can be difficult and every GPU has a different API (Cuda, Vulcan, Metal, etc.). Also it would then not run on any phones or tablets. This was the easiest way to make sure it runs on a broad range of devices, but in the future I might rebuild the image processing in WebGL so the browser can utilize the GPU for the processing, that should already increase performance greatly 😊
Josh muss mal auf dich aufmerksam werden. Das würde sehr gut zusammenpassen. Super Video. Freut mich, dass der Channel so langsam Fahrt bekommt und bekannter wird.
I don't run any sales, I just give discounts to people coming from youtube or who have bought presets in the past when I release a new pack :) depending on when you bought analog vibes, you should have gotten an email for the disposable vibes launch.
Dose the image upload have a limit size? I uploaded a 16MP/4896x3264 /6.5MB ,but it didn’t work. However it can works when I use the lower pixel. Thanks for your sharing.
Was it a jpeg or png file? Unfortunately there's no support for raw files or .heic files right now, but there shouldn't be a limit on the resolution. I've tested it with 40MP files and it was fine :)
@@futc.photography I find the problem. When I use my iphone to upload the photo by safari, it doesn’t works. However when I use computer ,it works. P.S. The photo was a jpeg SOOC by fuji XT4 or XE1
Actually worked on a very similar video 5 years ago (but in After Effects back then) which never saw the light of day. It was definitely faster in resolve haha.
I think you’re missing the point! It’s mad, it’s interesting, it’s innovative! Much more entertaining than a mist filter. How do you think editing software evolves?!
Mist filters definitely work well for a "bloom" around bright spots, but those then have the same color as the light source, unlike halations. Also this way you have much more control over the effect :)
This is really good, love your vid's but I really wish you tuber yute would realise that the main difference is that digital acts in a similar way to e6 film whereas c41 (negative) film works in the opposite way i.e. overexposure good. ;-)
We used to overexpose Extar 1000 by two sops and shoot through a modifyed enlarger diffusion filter to produce what we called pasel shots. impossible to replicate due to the slide film nature of digital! Should you choose to accept............ this msg will self distruct in..........
I've talked about film's exposure behavior in my first film-look video, of course you can't replicate it exactly, but you can try and edit for that look.

Will these work in Affinity Photo? Affinity supports raw formats and ps formats like .psd so I know there is some cross compatibility. Great video!
Google says no to lightroom presets with affinity, I will buy these anyways in the chance that I switch back to adobe products
