    Thank you for your service, I served 10 yrs as a AD, but did tad at NAF Detroit working with the navy security police force on base and I loved it. I spent 4 yrs at PMTC Pt Mugu with VP-65 and another 4 yrs at NAS North Island with HSL-45. I put in for maa school and then duty station back at Pt Mugu which was all accepted and I was so happy that I got the orders I wanted, But then at the time (1990) I was a single parent and my daughter begged me to not re enlist and accept the orders because she did not want me to go away anymore on deployments which I did with HSL-45. So I gave up my career in the Navy to be with my daughter . I still wonder to this day how my life would have been if I stayed in and pursued my goal of law enforcement. I wanted to use my Navy experience as a spring board to the government level of security. Keep up the good work!

    This is the rate I want but I’m double guessing it because I had a little surgery on my knee a year ago, it’s fine now, I can run and everything but I don’t know how intense the MA training is. Im able to jog a mile and a half.

      @jay adams If you're wondering about deployment I've looked it up and "Navy Master At Arms Job Descriptions And Training" from thebalancecareers.com says
      "Sea/Shore Rotation
      The sea/shore rotation for a master at arms is as follows:
      First Sea Tour: 48 months
      First Shore Tour: 48 months
      Second Sea Tour: 42 months
      Second Shore Tour: 48 months
      Third Sea Tour: 36 months
      Third Shore Tour: 48 months
      Fourth Sea Tour: 36 months
      Forth Shore Tour: 48 months
      Sea tours and shore tours for sailors that have completed four sea tours will be 36 months at sea followed by 36 months ashore until retirement."

      They will be stationed mainly on the larger ships ie Aircraft Carriers, Larger Amphib ships etc. If you watch Mr. Alexander's video of when he was stationed on a A.Carrier you will learn alot. I know they hold exercises with the Marines while on board. They watch sailors/marines who have been sent to the brig on board.

    • @damienpalladino8797
      @damienpalladino8797 3 года назад

      Another thing to take into account is that some shore "billets" are classified as sea rotations. Like I believe MA2 said his Bahrain duty was a "sea" duty station. And something indirectly related...There are times when the Navy's manning requirements may mean paying sailors more 💰. As was the case when the aircraft carrier was scheduled for extensive shipyard repairs in Newport News. They were paying specific rates "sea pay" to sign on for a undisclosed amount of years. So in other words if you decide that you feel that you want to reenlist then stay in touch with your detailer and continue to grow in your rate/job.

    I’m currently an Undesignated Airmen, I go to strike a rate in September! I really want to strike MA. I was TAD to security for a few months but due to medical issues they sent me back to V4. I was told when you’re an MA there’s a lot of jobs within the rate. Are most of these jobs Shore duty commands? That’s what I’ve been told by most MA’s on my ship. Are all the shifts 3-2-2-3? And 12 hour shifts? Except for deployments?

    Would you say that 5-6 months is the usual time period to be stuck on ID checks and gate guard? I grew up a navy brat but I was always around ordinance so I never got to head about the security side. From what I’ve read everyone complains about being stuck at the gate, so I was wondering about how long that lasts. Thanks in advance!
