Very helpful video.... Thank you very much for putting this up. I have a question. If we didn't get to apply to NRMP, but applied to ERAS how do we get the unfilled spot lists after SOAP is over? Can you please provide guidance on that? How do we contact the programs after SOAP? Where do we get updated information on available spots? Thank you very much!!
As long as you registered for NRMP, even if you don't apply to any program in SOAP, you will get the list of unfilled programs. On Thursday after SOAP is over you get the final list and you can directly call/email programs after that.

You can't chop and change LORs once uploaded, right? Like if you've already uploaded 4 LORs for the main match, you can't substitute one of those for a new one right?
Applying to programs in soap is similar to main match in the way you have to assign lors and ps. You cant change CV but you can choose which lor or ps to assign.
@@usmlesarthi2024 Thank you so much for your reply. So if I'm not mistaken, when you say you can't change existing LoRs, you mean to say that you can't edit the lors or delete them from the database but can always have new LoRs uploaded either by the same or different letter writers. And like with the main match, you have to choose LoRs to ASSIGN to the SOAP application out of the ones uploaded both previously and newly in the database. So in effect, your SOAP application can have different LoRs from your main application. Am I correct?
As an older IMG, who is only interested in IM or FP, should I only apply to categorical of these 2 specialties or are my chances better with prelim/transitional?
if a preliminary/transitional year is real clinical experience, then why do you state that doing a transit/prelim year makes it harder to get into a FP/IM program the following year?

Hai sir, my daughter in her completion of intern and wants to take Usmle step1. But when she applied for EFmcg registration. She got reply that pathways are underway and OET I's to be cleared additionally. Will u please clear why and when they start application registration

Yes on 1 year of Transitional/Prelim. for the second question it will depend on the match you get after Prelim year

You cant change existing lors. But the same physician can upload new lor which you can assign or ofcourse you can get other lors also.

with transitional it will be harder to match in IM/FM next year

@@israkin because funding pgy1 again is difficult for programs. You can try pgy2 ofcourse

ECFMG will come out with the dates but yes OET is now required.
Yes OET is required and they will open up the pathway applications in April.
240+ score is a safe score for the SOAP?! Isn`t it obvious?!
May vary with specialty and spots but overall it gives a good chance.
