    I wish I had seen this before I asked in the group about this. It would’ve cleared things up for me. I will probably leave them on. I’ve gotten a few sales from them. I just wanna make sure that I count from my profit margin that even if I am running a sale, I can still make a little something if it’s the 15% plus my 20% sale that I run from time to time.

      It’s tough to price things when you’re not sure if a random sale is going to take the additional fee!

    I restore/paint furniture and I was extremely annoyed with offsite ads. To cover the cost of the extra fees, I had to raise my prices from $800 to $1075, and $1250 with delivery. I account for everything down to the penny. I know how much profit I want to make on each piece and I kept having to up the price, because it is a percentage system. So annoying and my customers don't like paying hundreds extra.

      Not only that, but you aren't covered by purchase protection either, so that's a ripoff.

    TY for the clarification. As a new seller this info is invaluable.

    The weird thing I’ve had with offsite ads is that they were bringing me lots of traffic and sales up until the point that I passed the threshold to be permanently included in them and then those sales dried right up. 😢

    I've had two orders so far this year from an offsite ad. Compared to my gross product sales (not counting shipping and sales tax collected), offsite ads are .27% of my gross sales. Last year, I had 4 orders from an offsite ad. That amounted to .32% of my gross product sales. Not even a third of one percent, all time. At that rate, I'll take it.
    Just for context, that covers 246 orders, or 2.4% of my orders, all time.

      I don't get too many of them either, but sometimes they'll be the only way that people get sales at all.

    Recently I've had a message on my dashboard saying something like" you've made your first sale using offside ads, click to find out more". But I didn't have them turned on... and "find out more" just led me to the opt in page. I was super confused, I cant even tell what listing sold with it. So I decided just to stop worrying about it :D

      They're probably telling you that someone clicked on an offsite ad for your listing or someone else's, then bought something. And they're trying to get you to get all excited and turn the ads on. They send out emails every now and then telling people that if you turn ads on you'll make a ton of money.

    Hi Kara, is it possible for us to withdraw our entire "current balance" into bank in Etsy?

    • @KaraBuntinTutorials
      @KaraBuntinTutorials  2 месяца назад

      You can request a withdrawl but it will only pull out the amount that's available. Things process at different rates, so there mgiht be some left in your account on Etsy.

    They advertise my higher priced items then the buyer buys something cheaper but I have to pay for the higher priced ad 😞

      You only pay the fee for the thing that actually sells, not what they clicked on to get there!

    Kara / anyone - question for you. I’m in UK and wondered if you know / could you find out anything about the legality in Europe of being permanently opted-in (over £10K sales). I’ve heard that it could be found to be illegal under the EU Unfair Contracts Act??

      I put that in the graphic in the video…sugar countries let you opt out, but you have to look into that because it varies by country. If you contact Etsy and ask to be opted out based on that law they should take you out if that’s an option.

    That's one of the things I hate about Etsy imposing it on us we were doing well without it. 😢
