hey kara, can I put the link to my webite in a pdf file and make my product free on etsy? do you think this will lower my sales on my website since I'm redirecting a lot?

I'm getting these weird messages from that say its from Etsy and its not in my Etsy messages. But it a screen shot saying i need to verify my account by taking a picture of a scan code so customer can be able to orders in your store. It seems shady to me.. I just started and I figure cause I'm new, somebody is trying to scam me.. Is anyone else out there getting this type of message only through your smart phone?

So, when you say they take care of all the sales tax stuff for the seller, does that include the seller’s home state as well? For instance, if I have an AZ tax license, do I have to remit the sales tax for items that I’ve sold within AZ? Or do I not have to report those tax items because Go Imagine has already done it for me?

Do you know if you can include a link to your blog in the individual listings? I know it can be put in the "about me" page area, but I was wondering about in the actual listings. I have seen it done and wondered if its actually allowed?

Does Etsy allow double discounts? If I run a sale can they also apply additional % off if they purchase multiple items when my sale is going on?

Hi Kara I was wondering what to put for the item weight if I have multiple options that weigh different amounts on the same listing. I'm selling bath salts so the item weights are 5 oz, 16 oz, and 32 oz. would I need to make separate listings for each so the right shipping cost is added or can I do it under the same listing and if so which weight would I use?

The policy needs to be rolled back entirely and reworked. It's incredibly vague and also effectively destroys a ton of POD shops that offer more than a couple of different items. My shop has 1400 unique items, it would be impossible to go back and print every single one of them and take photos. And there are tons of shops like mine.

Etsy's rules are a bit vague, I have seen shops on Etsy...from China, selling beads, it is clearly mass produced in China, anyone could do this, what category is this then? Selling beads (for making necklaces, jewelry etc...) that are from China? is this allowed?

I don't know why you want to do all these codes - Boring - in the "Marketing' (Esty dashboard) above the RUN a Sale "Encourage Bigger Orders - you can do all that - buy 2 get? buy 5 get? - that method you are showing is so boring adding codes for people to see and try to use - the new feature is there - MY BIG QUESTION - is Promote this with a message on the 'SHOP BANNER' - SURE - B U T - 70% or more people use a mobile - and THE BIG QUESTION - how do you show users that these discounts are available on a MOBILE DEVICE?? - I would love to do this and turn off the endless SHOP-wide discounts ! Strange thing... I created a dress design on Printify. It showed up as an outfit on my Bitmoji app and all my contacts who have Bitmoji app. I have no idea how that happened. Printify does have quality products, from my experience.

I've had my Etsy shop for about a year and a half. It's a small shop with only 17 listings and 22 sales. I just had a listing removed by Etsy, stating the listing didn't meet Etsy's Creativity Standards. I crochet teddy bears that I have designed myself. No other people involved. How much more handmade can you get? The listing that was removed was a glow in the dark ghost teddy bear. I sent an email to customer support and received a response that repeated the guidelines and that Etsy support cannot provide more information. Do I need to keep contacting Etsy support even though it seems to be a waste of time? Is there some other method of contacting an actual person? I've hunted all over the support pages and can't find a way to appeal. Do I just re-list the teddy bear? I honestly don't know what would have triggered a removal.

I sell coffee mugs with options for different colors/sizes. Do you know if I can use mockups to show the different options as long as the first photo is a real photo? Thank you for the info!

I haven't tried it myself but suspect that if, say, you have two 'Orange' and one 'Swallowtail' and this one Swallowtail is sold out, then, if new buyer selects 'Orange' 'Swallowtail', the inventory of this combination should be 0 (even if 1 Orange is still available).

What really annoys me in the current variation design is that I can't edit the options once they are created. If I want to change the text in say one of the options, the only way to do this is to delete the entire variation and start again (deleting just one option won't work, because it messes up the order of the options). Really bad web development.

I primarily sell plants on Etsy. I'm annoyed that all of my listings have been set to "designed by" or "handpicked" etc., without giving me a choice, especially as many of them have been grown by me FROM SEED and are up to 5 years old.

If I have a POD item with spring design that has just renewed and sale history, can I change the color offering of the design instead of making a new listing? How much edit can you make for the active listings do you know?

Does etsy look at all the photos or only the first one?

Etsy adjust the price of our piece according to the country where it is being shown. I had noticed that (USA, France, Germany, UK) and on top of this price, if they have to, there are the taxes. So in the end of the day we have NO CONTROL over the price the piece is being shown to customers. This was actually confirmed two times by ETSY this last week. Shocking

Your listing says ‘topper’ in title could you be more specific by saying butterflies for a complete 3 tier cake You obviously can go into more detail in description but despite the volume in the photos ‘topper’ to me means literally something for top of cake

I sell vintage items on Etsy. ChatGPT comes in handy when I’m lacking information about the product and I’m unsure how to list it. I use the photo feature and ask for a title for Etsy. I do the same thing when listing on eBay. It does seem to distinguish the difference in Etsy and eBay in one sense. The character counts are different for the title space. I also ask it to generate keywords for tags. It sometimes gives me ideas that I have missed. I think it’s helpful. If you don’t need the help then I would say skip it.

On Goimagine, can you do custom digital items on a per order basis? i.e., someone places an order for a personalized drawing, etc.? (Etsy seems to "want" to offer that feature (it has a personalization text box if desired on digital listings), but it forces you to add files for the purchaser to download on the spot even though the file doesn't actually exist yet until the purchaser comes to you.)

Interesting philosophical point - that we humans delegate the emotional part of the description to robots, leaving the technical part for ourselves. :) Give everything fun to robots! Give everything boring to humans!

I created three sections in my shop using the Section manager tool you discussed, but when I went to the Settings of a couple of individual items in my Shop Manager and attempted to move them into one of the new sections, it didn't work. The items are still in the "No Section" category when I view the Section manager tool. How do I truly get them to stick there?

I had to remove all my sheer lingerie. I’m not allowed to show any buttocks at all. I got an email from Trust and Safety saying I was in violation and they gave me a deadline to remove the offending content.

Being as Etsy wants us to show the item in its use, if I make an item that is made to hang on a bed and a portion of the bed is in the background with the item I made in the foreground, am I in compliance?

Thank you for this screenshot of where to make changes. When I first heard about this, I logged into one of my listings and did not see any new changes, not knowing I actually had to click the word change in the physical box to add the changes to my listing. Unfortunately, at this time, I don't see a bulk edit button where I can make bulk changes all at once. It looks like I'm going to have to do 1 listing at a time. If you or anyone else knows of a way to bulk edit please let me know.
