That's me entering at 1:42 filling the frame and getting to my seat. ha-ha. One of the coolest shows ever, just hanging out with Dweezil while waiting for the gear arrive. I have jammed with Dweezil before, and had long conversations. He's always fascinating. Also enjoyed talking with Scheila Gonzalez.

There isn't a better band playing today, no offense to the great bands that are playing today. To take the mantle of his late fathers music, assemble the musicians who want to play it at the level Frank would except was truly a joy. The fact that Dweezil greeted everyone who wanted to say high was really amazing, as it gave me an opportunity to express my love for his dad who I saw in 1988 at that very theater and to Dweezil himself for continuing to bring FZ to the world. Space Trucken well, it doesn't get any better 💪✌❤

Did the same thing. My father saw frank in 88 and I had to come back for the return of the son

@@colinsasseen4856 I saw FZ about 15 times or so and all the shows but 1 where in Detroit. He loved to play there and and the fans where great, except one show at Cobo hall. The 88 show was the last time I saw him and the last tour he did and, it was the very best show I ever saw. I can't tell you why but I walked out of the that theater a foot off the ground and never touched it again for 5 years. When he played I am a Walrus it just didn't get any better. Of course I've enjoyed some great Dwezzil shows on RUclips with his bands over the years and he's gotten nothing but better , especially his guitar playing when it comes to interpreting his dad's playing and making it is own. He's not his dad and nobody should expect that. When you except it being a life long fan like myself it's all that much better. I'll be seeing him again that is for sure and his generosity before the show was next to none. Dweezil clearly has his own following with or without FZ that was made clear the other night. Great time, great fans great vibe, delay or not.

It's not just that Dweezil knows how to play like Frank, or that he has a band that can play Frank's music with such perfection.
Dweezil is able to capture the spirit of his Dad's approach to live music. The opening warmup instrumental"Heavy Duty Judy") has all the playful improvness of later day live Frank, the kind of thing other FZ tributes try to pull off but can't.
Missing the trombone and bari sax, but still nails the vibe...

"singing" those heavy duty judy horn parts was when I knew the band would not be able to do the music justice

Eh…I’d argue the vibe is exactly what’s missing from this show. Yes he has a bunch of players who know the music - not hard to find in this day and age of music school virtuosos- but the attitude is entirely missing. The ol’ eyebrows, as FZ would say.

Very good show. It was shame we got a truncated set. Not the band's fault. Folks were offered a refund when the delay was announced
The past few years, putting on a tour had become financial unsustainable for Dweezil. Who knows if there is a margin for profit THIS time around.
I think many us fans who had tickets for the Royal Oak show are aware of this, so we chose to support this tour and stuck it out.
It looked like maybe 10-15% of people did get a refund.

My God, Dweezil can play. I knew I should have gone to this show. This is as good as the show I saw with Napoleon Murphy Brock at Pine Knob.
