Dweezil can play. I’ve seen videos of him ripping on the guitar. But I’ve noticed 2 things about him. He will not rip on his dad music. He will always let the guest guitarist shine. Respect!

..but are we surprised? Dweezil is INCREDIBLE but he's playing covers of his dead father's music. It's an extremely niche market. Frank's music was for an extremely niche market as well for that matter. ...so how would Dweezil ever become widely known and respected?
If he were the guitarist in a very popular and more mainstream band, then everyone would know who he is - but that's not the path he chose. Music isn't about getting recognition or being an "all time great" anyway. That's what sports is for.
Dweezil seems really happy and content with his life. Not everyone feels the need to be famous.

The intellectually appealing intricate and complex structure of Zappa’s music layered over persistent driving primal rhythms, and punctuated with the cultural lampooning of his lyrics, create a compelling sensory library through which listeners can experience the essence of the American experiment. Frank Zappa was early to recognize the threats posed by the growing trend toward censorship and forced homogeneity that were evolving in our governmental policies and institutions. I credit him with opening my eyes early on to a healthy skepticism of presumed authority which I am thrilled to see now beginning to enlighten more and more of us.

    Thanks, Dweezil! I loved this.
I want to thank your bass player who did all the real work on this tune!
Next time, have him turn off the flanges as I couldn't discern many of the great riffs he played.
For those who don't know- "Apostrophe" was a Jack Bruce bass solo set to music. And this bassist did a great job replicating a very challenging and technically difficult song to play, but a very cool one!
The compliments should ALL GO to the bass player! This is a hard bass song and an easy guitar song! Focus on the guy who did this!

?saw Frank Zappa live twice in I think ‘69 or seventy at the kerrisdale arena then a few years later at the coliseum . Amazing artistry and musicianship such an awesome experience . True rock and jazz fusion .

My favorite thing about discovering Frank's music was the realization that he always challenged what his own music could be and Phil X provided a refreshing take on that. I don't know if Frank would love this, or loathe it... Either way I'm down for it. 😎

I didn't mention Dweezil because... well... does he really need mentioning by me? His guitar says more than I can ever say. Zappa ♥

I started to hear Grateful Dead, the Free and especially their fantastic bassist Andy Fraser playing together with Dweezil Zappa and his band during the bass intro....great feeling...
