something that i adore about this finale is that it isn't "happy" or a "good ending" since the game heavily implies that if given a choice your friends and most of the people you meet could become total monsters and despite that you still decide to live your life to it's fullest, despite the shortcomings and struggle that human life have YOU still decided to fight to go back, and its something that the devil himself, the one behind human suffering could respect, which is the reason why compared to the true demon ending its called freedom, its something that the will aka the true YHVH couldn't comprehend, which also implies that the universe of the demi fiend in the freedom ending is free from the rest of the SMT cosmology lol.
Knowing a bit more about SMT and finishing my 1st megaten: nocturne. I would assume All endings are cannon. If I understood correctly, the amala network(s) works as a multiverse or multiple multiverses. So all endings happen somewhere at somepoint. But sure the freedom ending feels really good and as a "good" ending. Still true demon ending wants to make you people feel that the "true" ending.
The best ending, but for HD I’m conflicted between this (the clearly best) ending and True Demon for the extra content. Probably gonna do True Demon then go back to a save to get the freedom ending.

Since this rejects the cycle of creation of death and rebirth. Would this count as Chaos-Adjacent? I mean The Great Will and Kagutsuhi are PISSED at you over this while Lucifer is "Hey you're pretty fucking cool man. Bravo!" It is such a great ending.
I feel like it would be kinda hard to keep talking to isamu and chiaki after what demi fiend saw them do in the vortex world even though they couldn’t get their reasons
Both the end of the true demon. How the ending of freedom, can be Canon. Remember that the conception was produced by Hikawa and the gea cult. That is, it was not the time for it to happen, so it is based on Naoki keeping his powers as a Demifiend and keeping all memory of conception, And may Lucifer tell you to stay strong for the coming of the true enemy.
The ending I chose, but damn I gotta wonder for our boy Naoki. How will he live normally knowing that his 2 best friends became a dick and a psychopath before?
Best ending, sad that atlus made TDE the true ending and not freedom ending. Also thanks for uploading this! I'm now softlocked at the kagatsuchi battle aftermath and can't even see the ending.
Imo, this is definitely the worst case scenario ending of the game. Even if you reset everything, its not gonna change anything its only to stay stagnant which the nut cases of Gaea can manipulate just like with Hikawa plus Lucifer warning you that "The True Adversary will go after him", meaning your fucked since GOD is pissed as fuck and sees the Demi-Fiend as a threat since he defied the conceptions main purpose which was to evolve the universe not keep it the way it was. If you don't go for Chiakis, Isamu, and Hikawas reasons and go the true ending or freedom ending, No matter what you do, your in Lucifers thrall forever from the moment The conception happens and GOD ain't gonna help because your a demon and fucked up the conception
Even though this seems like the best ending it isn't. In the end the world is remade everything is back to normal. However, there is no betterment. Sometime in the future, the same event very well may happen again. This is why I think the true demon ending is better, the world is erased. No one will make the same mistake again. Also, they relise their true enemy "The Great Will". The one who basically caused all this because he instilled reason into humans but, he is too lazy to interfere when wrong is done becausr of thay reason. He merely spectates like he is watching a show. The Demifiend, his demons and lucifer go on to find the great will and kill him in order to truly free the world. Edit: To put it simply the freedom ending is a lie. True freedom has not been attained as we are still living under the rule of the great will. In the True demon ending, you are going to achieve true freedom by killing YHVW. The freedom ending is merly running from the true problem.
I mean, a little bit of a sidenote to another Neutral ending in a mainline SMT game but still related to this... Being Lucifer's pawn to kill YHVH doesn't bring about any meaningful change either. Lucifer, for all his posturing likely doesn't even have the slightest clue how to make a better future for humanity or for demonkind. It's like in SMT Strange Journey Redux where the Neutral ending ends up relying on the MC becoming an immortal omnipotent being that humanity continues relying on, eventually reestablishing the status quo and perpetuating the cycle of Schwarzwelt indefinitely. But even though that happens, the MC continues to repel the Schwarzwelt because regardless of the ending you still end up with Demons wanting to take the world from humanity. Demons will rule in the new world, and there is no place for humanity in the world they'll create. True Demon is simply accepting that fact, and abandoning your very being and the will of countless others to survive. It's cowardice.
@@michaelarcher1577 Cowardice? I don't understand. I wouldn't compare Nocturne to other SMT games they each have their own theme. Also, you said that in the True Demon Ending that demon will rule the new world? I honestly don't understand, the world was destroyed. There is no world to control. In the normal Demon ending however, this does occur. However, Lucifer merely leaves Demifiend with a few words then peaces out. In conclusion, as it relates to SMT 3 the True Demon Ending isn't an act of cowardice. It is making necessary sacrifices to ensure the conception doesn't occur again. Lucifer, The Demifiend and the fallen Angels go to confront YHVH. Also, this is in accordance to the actual Great Will Axiom. As, in one of the games( forgot which one exactly) we learn that YHVH (one of his avatars) has gone rouge. So it is in his will that YHVH is defeated. My interpretation is this: In the True Demon Ending, The Demifiend sacrifices his world and friend to side with Lucifer. As he realises the bigger picture and wants to ensure that the conception is done for good. That it won't occur again in other world. It's a necessary sacrifice to protect the other worlds.

something that i adore about this finale is that it isn't "happy" or a "good ending" since the game heavily implies that if given a choice your friends and most of the people you meet could become total monsters and despite that you still decide to live your life to it's fullest, despite the shortcomings and struggle that human life have YOU still decided to fight to go back, and its something that the devil himself, the one behind human suffering could respect, which is the reason why compared to the true demon ending its called freedom, its something that the will aka the true YHVH couldn't comprehend, which also implies that the universe of the demi fiend in the freedom ending is free from the rest of the SMT cosmology lol.
Freedom ending would be perfect if they had Dante or Raidou bossfight.
imagine Raidou summons Ougamatsu or Dante in Devil Trigger form
Knowing a bit more about SMT and finishing my 1st megaten: nocturne.
I would assume All endings are cannon.
If I understood correctly, the amala network(s) works as a multiverse or multiple multiverses.
So all endings happen somewhere at somepoint.
But sure the freedom ending feels really good and as a "good" ending.
Still true demon ending wants to make you people feel that the "true" ending.
True demon ending first play through
New game plus, Freedom ending...
The best ending, but for HD I’m conflicted between this (the clearly best) ending and True Demon for the extra content. Probably gonna do True Demon then go back to a save to get the freedom ending.
I got this ending because I decided not to do TDE just because it's "complete", and also because I knew Amala would be a pain.
I liked this ending, and I usually don't go with the Neutral endings because they seem too perfect.
going with this ending
tru demon and freedom ending is my favorite
The first ending I have ever gotten in the game and the one I try to get in a fresh playthough. ^^
The ending I was going for originally but didmt because I wanted to see the optional endings. This ending is exactly what I wanted it to be
"Looks at the text at the ending indicating Lucifer saying that you delayed the inevitable & everything is just going to happen all over again & then reads the comments."
Y'all ignored the text.
Just got this ending today and absolutely love it. What a game
Freedom Ending is how Persona series started. And for TDE is how SMT continue
actually smt if is the one that started persona
The only good ending
I feel like it would be kinda hard to keep talking to isamu and chiaki after what demi fiend saw them do in the vortex world even though they couldn’t get their reasons
Does anyone know what the news about hikawa says? Genuinlly curious...
Fun fact: hikawa voice actor Japanese version actually jotaro voice actor

Both the end of the true demon. How the ending of freedom, can be Canon. Remember that the conception was produced by Hikawa and the gea cult. That is, it was not the time for it to happen, so it is based on Naoki keeping his powers as a Demifiend and keeping all memory of conception, And may Lucifer tell you to stay strong for the coming of the true enemy.
Oh, i got this ending... now i'll go back a few save files (before the final tower), to get the TDE.
i love the true demon ending, but this is probably my favorite one tbh
The ending I chose, but damn I gotta wonder for our boy Naoki. How will he live normally knowing that his 2 best friends became a dick and a psychopath before?
Our boi Naoki got the drip
Best ending, sad that atlus made TDE the true ending and not freedom ending. Also thanks for uploading this! I'm now softlocked at the kagatsuchi battle aftermath and can't even see the ending.
(ps2 eu ver.)
But they didn't. There're no canon endings in smt games
One more reason rejected
Is the true adversary that the game implies the nahobino or could it be the axiom? Just random thoughts.
“ThIS Is ArGuABly ThE bEsT endInG”
did none of you even pay attention to the story?
Kagutsuchi is dead. There's no entity that could destroy and recreate the universe in Nocturn's timeline anymore.
@@bogus8591 That happens in the true demon ending as well
@@LightKing1237 Yeah, expect, you don't kill everyone and destroy the universe.
@@bogus8591 you dont end the world, the whole point of killing yhvh is to fix the world
@@LightKing1237 Demi-fiend and Lucifer don't go after Yhvh bro, they go after the Great Will.
Until that day.... Stay strong. I AM FILLED WITH DETERMINATIONNN, WE GETTING OUT OF CRONY CAPITALIST REALITY WITH THIS ONE🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Kagutsuchi is a God ? More like edgy teen from Reddit =D
LOL, although I think Lucifer fits that description more in this game. Reject stupid nihilism.
@@ltb1345 They are both edgy boys
people like the tde for it holds more content and is cool but thats just it.
So much better.
True demonic ending is much better
No.
Edit:
To put it simply the freedom ending is a lie.
@@michaelarcher1577 A next thing is the Demons ruling the new world(typical chaos ending) can be compared to either Chiaki's or Demon ending.
