@CrankCase08 : There are 3 ways in which pipe organ keyboards function. Originally, pipe organs were entirely mechanical action ("tracker action") with direct mechanical connection between each key and the pallet that blocked the airway to each pipe. For a short time, pneumatic action was used, but was given up because it was very slow acting. Nowadays, most pipe organs are electric action, with a switch beneath each key that activates a solenoid valve under each pipe.

Keith Allen did a very good wet lap. His very wet lap was very controlled, neat, tidy, composed and fast. Whether it's wet, moist, damp, mildly moist, mildly damp or even in that case, very wet, 1 minute 51.7 is a very good time. In conditions like those, realistically, I would expect anything from 1 min 50 sec to 1 min 54 sec.

@616typhoon : No, it would be very easy to switch around pipes that are in the same size range: you just lift a pipe out of the rack and switch it with another pipe close in size. Switching the wires around would be a LOT more complicated and far less accessible.
They ARE the same size at the join!
At an interview, they told me one of the other candidates wrote 'I have a pet lion' in their application. I doubted it somehow.

@616typhoon Pipe church organ keyboards are not wired electrically, it's all mechanical. The only electrical device would be the air pump.

@henrykarl1945 I'm aware of that, but Allen said he changed the organ pipes when he was no more than a young teenager at a public school, and that is not an easy job to accomplish. Even Clarkson (albeit timidly) mentioned that it's a major job. And even if he did manage to do it, how would his guilt be discovered? He is either a fantasist (I've met a few those) or an outright liar. In line with his ludicrous assertion that borstal was the best of all his schools, he's faking a bad boy image.

I have nothing against Keith Allen, but for my life I've seen him in two movies - both of which he has small cameos (Shallow Grave and Trainspotting) and his total screen time can't total more than 2 minutes combined. I know he's Lily Allen's dad, but I knew him before her fame, so it wasn't cos of her...I just wonder if you can call 2 minutes of film work (combined) an acting career. I honestly don't mean him disrespect (it's more high-profile acting work than I've had)> But am I missing something? Is he like a famous columnist or something? Does he do loads of plays?
