Michael Gambon on Jeremy Clarkson getting sacked from the BBC. “He didn’t deserve it, he just punched someone in the mouth and that was it. So, I think it’s ridiculous.” lol what a legend
He kept a straight face while recording a scene in Harry Potter where he put a fart machine in Harry’s sleeping bag and kept setting it off between his lines 🤣🤣
People don’t say that much often but Jeremy is an excellent interviewer. I mean all the jokes and skits aside he handles his guests very gracefully you forget for a second he’s doing all the silly stuff with May and Hammond.
Honestly, after watching the trio so much and mostly remembering them for their sillier moments and big adventures, it's easy to forget that they are all three quite genuinely talented at a lot of what they do. There's a reason no other hosts quite match up, both on Top Gear and other shows, because they bring a lot more to the table than you realize unless you compare them to others in the same field.
A lot of people didn’t like this segment of the show back in the day but Clarkson countered them by saying many of the people he spoke to about the show asked who the next guest was. I think that’s part of the appeal of top gear and why it so successful.. kids love it because of the silly jokes and the cars and maybe dads loved it for that reason. But mums and other people who aren’t particularly interested in cars can watch it for the guest segment and the jokes throughout. The news segments for me growing up as a kid were really the funniest parts even if I didn’t get a lot of the jokes. Then as a kid who was into cars and could at one point list almost any cars specs loved the car reviews too. It’s because of top gear that I think I was so into cars. This show will forever hold a special place in my heart. Sure Clarkson comes across as an ass at times but that’s what made him famous. If you really watch him he seems to be a genuinely good bloke underneath all the bombastic behaviour and rude mannerisms. His documentaries on the British army commandos and where he talks about the death of his father in one of the shows really does show his softer and perhaps more noble side. He does a lot of charity work for help for heroes which gives me a lot of the respect I have for him.
You’re right on about his interviews. The one with Cruise was as relaxed as I’ve ever seen two celebrities flogging a movie . Cruise and Diaz genuinely looked like they were having fun with an old friend. “Why don’t you have ear hair?”
"Look at that poor old man." He caught me so off guard with that comment about his own driving that I just about died laughing. Best interview I have seen on this show.
Greatest interview ever on Top Gear. Rest in peace Michael Gambon 🙏 unfortunately for the world we probably will never see the likes of you again. Legend of a man ❤️
@Fast2009 journalist asked him a stupid question so he gave a stupid answer. even funnier because the guy took him entirely seriously, and he said he did it because "it made his eyes water" LOL
Hilarious; 04:50 Gambon: I used to be a homosexual, but I was forced to give it up. Reporter: Why was that? Gambon: Because it made my eyes water. ROFL
sweet and very funny:) also like how good clarkson usually is at interviewing people, mix of maing fun of ppl and making them welcome and laugh with everyone. bbc has to realize what they let go lol. kinda loved hearing james may tell reporters after Clarkson was sacked "Clarkson, Hammond and I are a pair and will move somewhere else.
One of the best and funniest interviews there is; just listening to Gambon's replies is worth watching this clip. Thank you Michael Gambon, you were brilliant and you will be warmly remembered!
RIP Michael Gambon, it's immensely difficult to see your childhood heroes die as you grow up - but we must continue to have fun and enjoy life for all its virtues as I'm sure Mr. Gambon would've encouraged being the magical individual he was. It will be one of my life's biggest regrets not seeing him act live, but his contributions to theatre and children's imaginations shall live on forever - a priceless man.
Michael Gambon is like James May (with his engineering mind set), Jeremy Clarkson (with his devilish humor), & Richard Hammond (with his driving prowess) all roled into one person. Love it.
This man was my childhood growing up. I remember looking up to Dumbledore as a kid and how wise he was. Wands up for this legend 🪄 rip sir michael gambon
Lovely gentleman, always very kind to me when I knew him. Even invited me to visit backstage one time to chat when he was in No Man's Land in the West End. And I was only a bloke who walked his kids' wee dog! I was so sad to find he has passed.
Just heard the very sad news that Sir Michael has died. To Potterheads, he's a legend with his heroics inside the Ministry of Magic. To petrolheads, even more so with his heroics on the final corner.
One of my friends was an extra in Amazing Grace and he said Gambon swore like a sailor. Not that he saw him bollocking anyone but he said he once walked past him chatting to someone else and was really turning the air blue.
RIP Michael Gambon. Your driving and magic will be missed!

this was 2006. he was 65. Now he's 80.

Dumbledore
and now jeremy is 60 plus that is insane
Because of this comment alone I feel 15 years older, and it hurts
