Every time I hear this song I get chills, the harmonies are spot on. Love it
Same Kassy!
I don’t know what it is about her voice, but I get choked up just from hearing her tone and vibrato thing that she does is beautiful
Same!
Really appreciate the heartfelt reaction. I'm a parent AND I've had an abortion, and this song is such a beautiful, nuanced "conversation" about an incredibly difficult subject. So great reaction -- well done.
I love her vibrato too, it really taps into a sense of fragility that she brings to her music. She always seems to be riding a fine edge between strength and vulnerability. This is especially true given how open she has been about her battles with anxiety.
Powerful song about a powerful subject. No matter your position on the subject you have to appreciate the feelings of those having to make that choice and appreciate the sentiment that went into the lyrics.
More listening, earnestly, from both sides, is what I think is needed.
Great reaction and honest commentary.
I was gonna end this video leavin a reaction recommendation. But after hearin it, man. Just appreciation. That was amazin.
Same here!
What a fantastic song brilliantly performed by two of the best
My man these two are some of the biggest influences in my writing. Most of what i post sounds a lot different from them. But I love dissecting there songs and learning, trying to develop my craft. Burt I love your reactions, thanks for turning me onto a couple of new artists as well. great job, would love to pick your brain about writing one day.
Really appreciate ya Jake and they are huge influences for me too. Hope you have a great rest of your week bud!
Love Amanda shires. Idk if you’ve heard of “The highwomen” a band that shires is in. Would love to see them on your channel if you haven’t checked them out yet. Beautiful music. Whole album is great.
I have a highwomen sweatshirt on right now! Big fan!
came back to this today to try and find the words.
How about revisiting some of his older songs and seeing if they hit you the same way they did when you first heard them? I could watch JI reaction videos all day long.
“Pale Fire” by Amanda ft Jason is pure beauty as well. Also Harmless by Amanda was a happy discovery for me
Yeah I think I'm just gonna have to get over the fact that I've heard songs before.
You are spot on about the subject matter. They released the song on Safe Abortion Day or something like that. Proceeds of the song also are going to Yellowhammer Fund. I’m not a fan of their politics but the song and their construction of it is beautiful. I recognize talent even if we are on opposite sides. And also shout out some love for Duling Hall. We might have been there together lol. Small world. Keep up the great work
What a small world Jody! Who did you see at DH?
@@SongwriterReacts The last concert I was there for Reckless Kelly. I’ve seen Jason and Amanda there. St Paul and the Broken Bones was good. Whitey Morgan I believe and our boy Jason Eady came through a while back. Been several others that I can’t remember if it was Duling or the Lamar lol. Do you know Jason or his music?
@@jodyhill8540 I be St. Paul was amazing!
@@SongwriterReacts if you haven’t heard of Jason, you ought to check him out. He’s huge in Texas and that scene. He’s from Jackson and doing well for himself.
Thanks for helping me discover new artist Burt!
Sure thing bud!
Another great video sir. I think my favorite part of any video is when you blow the raspberries. I feel a bit ripped on on this one. 😂
Not gonna lie. I had to google what blow the raspberries means haha. Thanks Shawn!
I understand both sides of the story and I don't think there's a right answer no human being should have to make a choice like that. A beautiful song
Amanda Shires is a great favorite of mine, partly because her voice is so unique and that always attracts me. This is a very special song and she and Jason do it great justice. I've listened to it often. On another note, I came across a Scottish singer today who does Americana music. Her name is Roseanne Reid and if you haven't heard her you really should. Here is a sample: ruclips.net/video/hrvKh9XKogU/видео.html. Steve Earle is singing with her in this piece.
New to your channel. I came across Kassi Valazza last week and she was singing her song "Johnny Dear" I have been listening to it constantly. If you haven't had the chance to hear it, I suggest you do.
Powerful song.
I was fortunate to see them live last March before everything started getting cancelled they put on a great show!
Have you heard any of Morgan Wade’s music check out her song “The Night” the best version I’ve heard was the OurVinyl Sessions one.
You are my home!!! My song to my husband
Nice video- as always!
Thanks!
should check out kyle Nix - lighting on the mountain may know him as the player fiddle for Turnpike Troubadours.
