Came across this video this week. Found the offical video and I actually prefer this mix over the official one. Love the tones that were mixed, the drums add just enough sounds to add mystery and fill in the sonic spaces. The use of reverb on the guitar and vocals was great as it lends it to a spacious atmosphere. The piano and organ are brought in and out at just the right moments along with the distortion on the guitar. The violin solo did take me by surprise which was great as it added another element. I know people have commented on the vocals, but I have to say I love the tonality and how well they just fit this musical style. The chordal arrangement moving fromthe minor to the major for the chorus as it flows with the theme of a hawk in flight as the tones seem to push the listener upward from the ground.
Fantastic & Beautiful as previously stated. Awesome, Sublime, Alluring, Sensational..... I could go on but this performance is just - Wow! Best of the live sessions so far

Amanda Shires is an incredibly complex and gifted artist. I have always felt that her talent never got the focus it deserved being in the shadow somewhat of Jason Isbell. Without a doubt he is one of the premier singer/songwriters around as well as a top notch guitarist. However, she has also put out consistently great songs with a poet’s gift for imagery and a virtuoso musician’s gift for melody. I hope Shires and Isbell continue to provide us with their beautiful art for these often ugly times; I just hope the Shires’ solo work gets the focus and acclaim it has deserved since she first came onto the music scene. If you get a chance to catch her live, it is a breathtaking show. Also, I hope this isn’t too sexist as I am old enough to be her father but she is also a stunning beauty. I would add, I had the opportunity to see her at a few sound checks and met her once or twice-she could not possibly remember- but she did give my daughter a pick. From what I observed, she is equally beautiful as a person. God hit a home run when She made Ms. Shires!
