to me this song is about the effects of quarantine with depression and cabin fever so it causes friction in your relationships, but you also feel totally alone at the same time.
I didn’t see it from there, I’ll listen from that perspective, I like the train of thought
That is what Jason has said about it.
It’s definitely about the pandemic the “thousand days alone in my bed or in my head or in my phone” describes lockdown perfectly
Very true, I wonder how we will describe that in 20 years lol
After watching the HBO documentary, this was definitely written about the struggles in his relationship with Amanda while he was working on Reunions. Tons of parallels between the way they both spoke about things and the lyrics in this song.
Great Doc by HBO, I was so happy to see behind the scenes and how he writes. Its great
Big Van Morrison/Allman Brothers vibes on this one. This was an instant classic for me.
ohh didn't think about Van Morrison, I like the comparison. I def feel the Allman Bros vibe. Jason did great
Damn! That was my exact take!
When I heard this, I thought it could be about the Covid Quarantine, tired of living in the moment because we couldn't make any future plans. Stepping outside twice a day just to leave the house. I love the sound. Just saw him do this live in South Carolina. I'm hooked!! ❤
Thats Awesome! Hope you enjoyed the show, I cannot wait to see him in Nashville!
Great vid, Gawgia3! I saw Jason and the 400 Unit live recently and been addicted to him all of music since. First really discovered him back on Men in Blazers podcast during the pandemic around 3 years ago now. Great dude. Great music. Subbed to your channel, keep it up!
Thank you for the support, I got into Jason from an old relationship. I’ve been a fan probably 6-7 years now. He is supremely talented, and I’ll say, if you get the chance to see him at Red Rocks, it’s totally worth it, go for it.
I’ll have to go check out the pod, do you have a link?
Brilliant song, among his best. The song was obviously "born" during lock-down - but the lyrics are - as usual - relatable to a lot of situations in life...
You’re right, as usual his lyrics are so good and can fit different situations, he is a genius
I think the core of the song is Jason trying to wrestle with his own issues. The symptom of this is the difficulty it causes in relationships…especially marriage.
I can agree with that, love the input!
I know it was not his intention in writing but I have been listened my to this song on repeat in relation to a job/boss I’m in the process of growing out of. I’ve been in my first “big boy job”
after college and I’m getting the same seven year itch as a married couple. Physically and emotionally exhausted by a boss you don’t relate to.
thank you for sharing your perspective, I love seeing different viewpoints of the same song.
Played at Sydney Enmore Theatre Show on the 5th of April it was oustanding ,his vocal was so strong and clear.....Goosebump moment
I honestly cannot wait to hear the album then see it live!
It's about fighting depression to me. Greta song before sure a Hell Yeah!
I definitely see that perspective, thanks for the input!
I friggin love the guitar on this song. That Strat on the neck pickup is just gorgeous, and the solo is so damn tasty. A master musician.
Annnnd now I gotta go listen again after that break down lol. Cheers to ya!
@gawgia3 it really stood out when I saw them live this summer. I was on the rail about 10 feet from Jason while he played the solo. So, so good.
@@gawgia3 and btw, love your channel. Great music and college football, what could be better?👍
Thank you, it means a ton! ill have to do more for college football i've been slacking!

Awesome! I was close at the Ryman, and yes, this was a great one to see live!@@michaelsimmons5505
Also, feel it is also about his and Amanda’s struggles which were documented in the documentary also shows off his muscle shoals roots too!
yeah the Documentary was telling, glad they let us have a sneak peak!
@@gawgia3 no doubt! Speaks volumes about them being able to be vulnerable like that
I think this song hits way harder after hearing Death Wish. Feel like it's both sides of a perspective in the same moment.
I’ll have to listen from this perspective, thanks for the feed back
This is my favorite on the album
It’s a great song
I like this one right away and I think it’ll grow on me with more listens.
Since recording it has grown on me through a few more listens
So, I'm going on raw first listen..so this means nothing lol
I don't like the verse structure
But I do love the shift and bridge.
I think it's the use of single syllable 'I' words with the verses.
Most songs I've fallen in love with in the long term never met my prerequisites lol.
First ten or twenty listens are tough..after that the album seems to identify itsself. Granted I'm just some dude.
I like the feed back, I’ll have to listen a few times and read your points!
