If there’s been one breakout character in Amazon’s The Boys, it’s had to be Homelander! The psychotic leader of The Seven is the one monster you can’t look away from. Umm, he’s definitely a villain. If he did more heroic shit you could call him an anti-hero, he’s not doing that. He kills children without any hesitation. What he is struggling with is his self imagine and wanting to be loved. It explains it in the show. Homelander is going to be the greatest villain of all time of this series runs long enough and they keep him going in the right direction and I AM HERE FOR IT. Let’s go!

be honest, everyone can do something horrible if given the opportunity, it depends of how much one can control its anger or if they have good principles, some control their anger better because they have guidance or learned how to have empathy towards other people, but given the right opportunity i'm pretty sure most humans would just do whatever they wanted as long as it makes them happy, sometimes even hurting other people, emotionally or physically, maybe even going as far as killing them, just because it makes them feel good.
TL;DR: The Boys's vision of superheroes isn't too far from what reality would look like with them, in fact, its probably the most accurate representation of how would be a world with superheroes would look and be like.

To save the plane in the first part: forcefully detatch the rotors, let the plane slow down enough, use lasers to surgically take out unnecessary parts like wings and tail, then slow the plane again from the front, even if it cracks it a bit, then use your whorl body horizontally to hold it from the middle. I think that would work. Or well, fly everyone away one after one
They could’ve stopped the plane but homelander doesn’t care to do anything that can’t be solved with him just using his lasers, like literally they wouldn’t even be in that situation if homelander just knocked the terrorist out instead of using his lazer and frying the controls

honestly this character is one of the most complex characters on tv it’s kinda insane because one minute he’s killing a plane full of people the next he’s snuggled up on stillwells lap like an overgrown child, his backstory is also so tragic and really hope we learn more of the things he went through as saw because there’s clearly a lot of trauma that’s making this character tick and i want to see it unpacked further
