Awesome, good job. I did my today after i seen your video. Truck is running a lot better. Many blessings.
This sounds good because a lot of persons are really skeptical about this method. It worked for me and I’m glad it worked for you as well. I’m about to clean mine again. Thank you for watching and Just Keep Trucking!!!
Thanks for allowing us not lazy truck drivers to learn how to save money from these shop pirates

Thank you so much I truly appreciate and respect your thoughts and well wishes. I appreciate it 👍👍🤛🤛
thanks bro i’m going to attempt cleaning mine
Do a forced regen afterwards or blow out excess water with compressed air.
Great Video!
Thank you for watching 👍

this is a great video! thankyou! i’m having a change dpf filter issue as we speak , hopefully the mechanic can just power wash it instead of replacing it. your sexy btw and great video! 🇯🇲 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Let him wash it first because I know it works because at the end of the day what’s the worst that could happen cuz you would have replaced it anyways. 😊😊😊😊
Great job
Thank you I appreciate it
Thanks man
Your Welcome Anytime! Just Keep Trucking!!!
I manage a small fleet of t680s and 388s and ckean the dpfs myself. Not terribly difficult but nice to see how others do it. Keep it up
In your opinion, do you think it’s a good way to pressure wash it like I do cuz I think it does???
Nooo please do not pressure wash them it damages the ceramic material inside… the best way is to use compressed air and burn them in a kiln as that fully cleans the soot inside
How often you clean it
@@johnfrederick8476 I only did it that one time. It don’t even do a active regen that much anymore either. That’s the regen that happens when your driving.
I get mine cleaned yearly, less regens for the truck to do. My dealership charges less than $1,000 for a cleaning service. These trucks can only get it that hot. To professionally clean the filter, have a dealership with a commercialized oven bake it at metal bending temperatures and blow out the soot
you great !! v.good video
Thank you very much! And thank you for visiting 🙏
Oops commented you soon, you answered my question at the end of the vid thanks bro
😁😁😁😁
hi great video. I have a question: is there another filter that has to be cleaned too \? the one in the middle section or just those two at the front of the assembly? thank you
On all my research it’s only the DOC and DPF. I may be wrong though
Thanks.
Your Welcome 🙏
Much blessings 🙏🏾🙏🏾💪🏾💪🏾✌🏾

I Appreciate you stopping by 👍

I’m learning as I go along. All the diagnosing and thing…
Part number on filter? Thank you awesome video
Not sure about the filter part number cuz I didn’t replace it, instead I cleaned it and replaced the gaskets for the fDPF and DOC. Thank You 👍
Cool man just subscribed. Do you need gaskets where the parts mate together or did you just clean the surface and reinstall the clamps
Thank you so much I appreciate you 👍
New clamps and gaskets. If you don't, you'll get engine codes.
Did i see you turn on the truck when you put it back together? (before reinstalling the steps) i saw some water coming out when you stepped away and came back.
Yes I did but I would tell you if your attempting get as much as possible all the water you can get out. It won’t hurt anything but that’s what I’ll do next time around. It’s still holding and I never have to do a force regen to this day. I appreciate you watching 👍
Thats the right way to do clean the system but only spray the way it comes in the dirty side down hey yall can remap the ecm - computer to delete that and never worry no check engine light or codes either
Did you have any problems with codes or regens after the reinstall ment
After I reset the parameters for “clean DPF” I’ve never gotten a code or any issues up to this time.
After u reinstalled the dpf and doc have u had any problems with it? How many miles have u drove since cleaning
There wasn’t any problems or anything and still driving to this day on 03.03.24 but it showing signs it needs to be cleaned again.
👏👏👏
Can I do the same for a peterbilt 579? I'm having the same problem
You can but a lot of people speculate that it doesn’t work 😅.
what chemicals you used to break up the soot
I didn’t use any. Just plain warm water.
Everyone make sure you do this while the truck is running!😂😊
😂😂😄🤣
How did you dry it up
I had use a leaf blower, put it on and did a regen but next time imma use the leaf blower then put it in the oven for couple hours. Fortunately it’s still holding up 😅😁
I've heard it's not good to clean those dpf filters with water. But I see people doing it so it can't be that bad. How did it work out after you did it?
It’s going strong and I hardly have to do a forced regen.
@@dentrizzle that's awesome I'm glad it's working out for you.
@@user-re1nv1ky5i Appreciate It
I plan to do my own . Just got my filter replaced. The filter does not last for the life of the truck . Eventually ashes get driven into filter and hardens . cleaning will not remove that . Plus the filter itself will not generate the high heat to burn off soot . It is like a catalytic converter. Since new went in , fuel mileage went up nearly one mile per gallon, def usage went down to less than half. Also less rolling regeneration . I like seeing these helpful videos. Thanks man .
I have a 2016 t680 let's say I have been cleaning the DPF filter every year for the last five years now just last year I bought new ones. so no the water does not hurt anything I use first air pressure then hot water pressure and then air pressure again. and one more always keep that DEF tank full at all times top it off always. just saying

Which side do I spray
The cleaner side which is towards the back of the tractor. If both sides are dirty you have a bad DPF.
How do I get the check engine lightt to go out. I don’t have a computer
Hey buddy, nice videos. May I ask, did you have to change any gaskets in between the filters?
Yes I changed two ‘2’. I recommend get them before you start the tear down. The part number is at the end of the video. Some people claim it don’t work by washing but it worked for me 😬😁. I appreciate you watching and hope it helped. 👍
@@dentrizzle yea it helped a lot. I want to find the chemicals that they put in there, in Greece that am from, you can buy those chemicals as well, I want to find the names or ingredients of the product. And then probably need to find a demo on how to not burn your self 😂
I’m about to do this on my truck 2019 Kenworth t680 x15 Cummins. Have you had any issues sense doing this to your truck?
No problem at all. Still going strong right now.
@@dentrizzle thank you!!!
@@blakebrooks7698 your welcome
@@dentrizzlewas your check engine light on and wrench light on prior to doing this? How long did the whole process take?
@@blakebrooks7698 I didn’t get any check engine light or anything like that. What I used was I had to do parked regen up to 3 times a day which indicates the filter was either clogged, broken or full. After I washed it out, didn’t have that issue. Only did forced regens because I wanted to. Some trucks will tell you it’s time to service but mine didn’t. 1st owner just got a basic truck.
But did it clean it like a bake would?
So baking just bake the ash in the filter but washing gets out the ash. If I’m to do it again I would do a regen then I would wash it out afterwards cuz during the washing process it took almost 2 hours before I saw clean water coming out of the filter. I could see the literal ash coming out so I’m sure it helped. Hope this helps.
Hi, bro can you tell me what is this code for, spn 2795
Thank you
What’s the year and model???
www.detroitdieselengines.info/series-60/troubleshooting/series-60-spn-2795-fmi-9-can-communication-error.html
Me engine is paccar mx 13
2015 kenworth T680
@@tglover9150 ok
Does the light automatically go away? Mine didn’t
I don’t know about other year T680’s but there shouldn’t be any check engine indicating your DPF needs cleaning. I’ve never experienced that so maybe something else is going on plus there’s a section in my scan tool app to reset the parameters after you cleaned or replaced your DPF Filter.
@@dentrizzle oh okay I don’t have the scan tool mine just says dpf ash full please seek service , I’ll see if I can run a manual regen
@@BhavinPatel-sd4rv oh that makes sense so in your case it needs cleaning but after cleaning you have to clear the parameters in your case else the ECU will thing it’s not cleaned. Mine doesn’t have that extra sensor that reads ash level.
How long did it take you
To take the DPF and DOC I would say 1 hour. It’s straight forward with taking off the bolts unless they rusted. The 5/16 bolts you have to PB Blast or WD40.
@@dentrizzle I saw another video where it says a pressure washer wont do the job... is that because they want to charge us an arm and a leg
@@daviddavis5395 is a long debate about pressure wash or not. Some big companies do pressure wash and some do baking. It’s similar to over or under with the toilet tissue 😅. Why I tried it was if it didn’t work I would replaced it anyways but it worked for me. Only thing I would do different is
1. Di regen 1st
2. Pressure wash
3. Put in oven to get all the water dried out. 😄😃
You will pay anywhere between $700-$3000 for a new DPF. Professional cleaning, between $175-$300.
Look… the dealership quoted me $7,500
@@wrohzee Were they replacing you DPF and DOC, or is that a quote for cleaning and reinstallation? I did mine a year ago at a KW dealership. It cost me $2100 for a NEW DPF, and getting the DOC cleaned, reinstalled, with new clamps and gaskets. $7500 sounds like they were replacing both parts.
@Zyereri Some DOC's, are $2000-$3000, alone.
How well did ur dpf filter worked after cleaning ?
Haven’t touched it again since. Been good and never ever saw that code again. I would say it was a total success cuz I track my soot levels and it don’t do an active regen “when you drive” up to 5 days which is good.
Also note when it wanted cleaning it would puff a lot of black smoke during start ups and it would idle ruff as if it wasn’t breathing. All that went away and as I said haven’t had no issue since I did the cleaning.
Ok, I’m deleted so it’s been a few years I’ve personally tackled any DPF issues. Why wash it? Why not finding someone to bake it? Was told baking one was around $300
The washing helped a little but there’s more underlying issues 😩. I Appreciate Your Input 👍
Baking only removes soot not ash load only washing removes it he is right
@@dentrizzle what was the underlying issue? Was the cleaning worth it, Please answer me when you get a chance, thanks Bro
@@user-sb8ip2ef3t it’s was the inlet temperature sensor at the DOC and also turbo actuator. After replacing both I got to do parked regens again.
@@user-sb8ip2ef3t The cleaning really helped cuz you will see the physical ash being washed out. It’s a brownish pinkish substance. That same week I went from 6-7 mpg and saw at much as 8.5 mpg @70k on the same route. Unfortunately it went down back to 6-7 mpg 2nd week cuz it still wasn’t doing regens. 👍
Those prices are wrong dude. But to clean a dpf filter is $300 and some change. But that’s good your learning your equipment
Yeah those were the prices that were quoted to me but later found there are cheaper places. I wasn’t wrong with the prices I mentioned in the video cuz it varies where you live
@@dentrizzle that’s a really big difference but I’m out of Houston and it’s 300 to clean the dpf filters and I don’t know the prices for new filters because your truck is different but in a Freightliner they’re 1500 in my truck
@@1s2a5m And as I said places and prices varies plus this truck is a Paccar MX13 EPA17 and anything for it is gonna be way more expensive comparing to your Freightliner and you also live in Texas. I live in Virginia and most times I have to drive to South Carolina, North Carolina or as far as Florida for better prices. Hope you understand.
great video, but the music needs to go, or be quieter so you can be heard.
Those videos were back when I wasn’t taking it serious and new to making videos. Later videos I fixed those issues. I appreciate you and also your observation. Just Keep Trucking!!!
@dentrizzle Thank you for the response....I will definitely check out more of your videos!

Don't forget you're flip-flops
I like my flip flops. The best driving accessory ever made. Keep fresh air on my feet so I don’t get stinking feet or athletes foot so I don’t see what the problem is 🙄
Do not pressure wash your DPF and DOC. Take it to a shop and have it baked and serviced. Great video to save on labor of removing and reinstalling but pressure washing is not a good idea.
Ok got it 👍
Delete also runs about 3k
If it gives me 1 major issue again it’s gone 💨
Where from I'm in Houston
With a crowbar, this dpf nonsense is definitely solved!
Facts but I’m afraid to do it 😂
My lazy raas already took mine to kw…. Over $3000 later here i am…. Never again…
The washing of the DPF to get rid of the ash works although most will say it doesn’t. Bigger companies started doing it so I would say give it a shot. Get the gaskets to replace the old ones cuz they are going to be thrash removing them. Good luck 🫡
I have a 2014 t660. The 2019 is a much better design in the fact, the the filters are farther forward giving much better access. AND not having the filters right next to the fuel tank. It's bad enough having a Regen occurring with a live body in the truck let alone a regen happening with such high temperatures. The engineers certainly didn't care about the well being of the drivers when having a mini nuclear reaction on board.
That sucks for real. My truck has a battery box between fuel tank and DPF system thank God. Switched out the lead acid to Non Serviceable AGM for more assurance but thank you for watching and your input.
Please are you on tiktok
I was but haven’t posted in almost a year or so. @Dentrizzle & @Trizzle Go-Getta
Need to bake em for 24 hrs then power wash em. Or better yet get it deleted
That’s what I’m aiming to do next time around, bake then wash but so far it’s doing quite good. I appreciate your input, hoping others will learn and save some money 👍👍👍👍
worst shit they could've done to trucks was put this on them
Honestly mine doesn’t give that much problem. Only had to replace the temperature sensor and clean it one time. I believe if you don’t idle your truck too much and do periodic forced regen you will be golden. Had the truck 310k and now it’s at 720k and seems to be needing a cleaning again. I still think it’s bullshit thou. Appreciate you checking out the channel. Just Keep Trucking!!!
Baking is better but very informative! TY!
Baking is good for soot but washing or high pressure air is good for ash in the DPF. DOC gets hot and turn soot to ash, ash is then collected in the DPF and that’s what builds up. I would say both of them is beneficial but I still appreciate you stopping by on the channel and also your input. 👍
Just remove it !
Dang wish I could 😊
please no music
Imma try. I appreciate you 👍
Looks like this driver does not have a life a wife kids 😢😢😢
😂😂😂😂
I’m curious, why you say that? 🤔
Him just jealous 😂
Good job brother
Thank you so much 😀
Thats the right way to do clean the system but only spray the way it comes in the dirty side down hey yall can remap the ecm - computer to delete that and never worry no check engine light or codes either
If you remap the ecm without removing dpf your dpf will get clogged and can cause issues.
