I have years of experience with those v-band clamps. Although in smaller sizes used on aircraft. That outter band on those are very forgiving when yanking on them. Couldn't always get to the back side to pop them loose. Airdale Navy myself. Thanks for the videos

That f***ing DPF is the bane of my trucking existence. In December something went wrong and it won't passive regen so every other day im having to stop for an hour to do an active regen. Then it started smoking when I did that.
Put it in the shop with warranty. 3 weeks and $5000 worth of repairs (covered thank god) entire scr replaced and 7th injector.
Everything's good
One day later check engine light and asking for forced regen.
I have resigned to my fate of planning for that extra hour of DT every other day lol. But the smoking stopped so that's something.

My peterbuilt was having def issues 2 years ago. It turned out to be the turbo speed sensor. The oil temp also went down 10 degrees after changing that sensor. Mabey try that.

There’s a guy in Oregon Eaglepoint that cleans those and he also sells the max mileage that will keep that particular filter from plugging up truckers in this area are buying that stuff he can’t keep it on the shelf it works

I’ve watched a few people on YT pressure wash them with soap and hot water until the filter is clean. They swear by this method and claim it’s better than sending them out to get baked. What is your opinion of this method.
I have heard that being done, but i haven't tried it yet. I don't think it is good to give a feedback. Sorry!

Hi Ryan.
If you never want to have an issue with your after treatment again, I would recommend the Pittsburgh Power Max Mileage Catalyst. My truck has 80,000 miles on it and no regens, I have been using it since new. Last week I had my mandatory after treatment checkup with Peterbilt and they asked me when the DPF filter was changed, they could not believe that it was the original filter.

@@MrMan-ol4ic I am not one for additives and was very weary of it at first, but over 100,000 miles with no regens. I don’t think I could live without it.

How long does it take to drop the dpf an install it back
It is a PIA, most of a day if you are not in a shop. Build some ramps out of 2x10's so you can get under there. Ten inch height on the ramps is good. If you have side skirts, you may have to remove a section. may, not always. I use a ratchet strap(s) to lower them out. I also break the filters apart under the truck, only removing the DOC and DPF filters out, not the entire unit like Ryan did, much easier. The SCR can, that is another story, the entire unit needs to be dropped.
I just had the code eec61 4364 pop up on my 15 freightliner. It that the inlet screen fir the DPF pump? Is there a air filter for that pump or no

this is not the way to remove it, remove the diffuser pipe, (has def injector in it) and leave hanging, the dpf assembly has blots on each end at frame, (slotted holes) once you unbolt the solid holes you just pick up the entire system and remove it, then you disassemble the componets, you need a doc, the filter is a filter, as it does have a service life it can be cleaned, the doc makes the heat to turn the oil into ash, (oil is the soot that accumulates on the dpf from idling and oil usage, also check your bellows pipe for cracks (soapy water and saturate, start engine and full throttle a few times with helper check for bubbles) once you get all of this reinstalled check every thing with soapy water for leaks, also you will have to use insite to reset the ecm for aftertreatment cleaning, good luck

If that diesel doser behind the turbo hasn’t been changed it’s probably leaking and will plug that dpf in a heart beat.

I hear California bans refurbished units. Try calling Kenworth dealer in California if you really want a new one.
