4:15 You can have two chrome windows opened side by side!! Do your homework before claims like that. I use it all the time, and you can have Instagram opened in chrome instead of the app if you want.

I think he's complaining about the blue/cold tone of the Xperia 1 because he's used to the inaccurate warmer tone of Samsung and IPhone's.
I'm pretty sure the Xperia 1 has one of the most accurate colours on the market.
Sony's technologies are entirely different from others.This Phone have lot of stunning features that you didn't mention than disadvantages you said.
There is no HDR when you're using Auto Mode you need to use Manual settings to see real capabilities of Xperia 1's camera... I think a lot of tech reviewer's didn't know that they just keep on metioning HDR isn't good.. Only Xperia User's know that thing in fact some of the Sony's recent flagship are better than Samsung if they know how to use it..
Don't let lazy people use Sony.

4:15 regarding split screen. You can force any app to use split screen in developer menu, and Facebook or Instagram works.
Why is this in-depth? You didn't cover the 960fps slo mo nor manual mode (what can you do with shutter speed or ISO in manual mode?". What about it's gaming performance? Or that it can scan objects in 3D space producing an interactive model?
You didn't really talk about Netflix or Amazon with 4k or HDR. How is the music experience like with the music player?
What is its call quality like? Does it drop signal or does it stay strong? Does the phone overheat while gaming or taking videos?
I think this video is fine for an average user but this is *not in-depth*.

Messenger used to have splitscreen support, but they removed it for some reason. Also 4:10, that's wrong, u can have two tabs open side by side, at least u can do that with Google chrome
When it's running in 4k it's problem but when it's not running in 4k that's problem too... It's bcoz this is not iPhone Huawei nd Samsung.🤞
I have this phone. I love it. The fingerprint reader works perfectly every time.
The fingerprint sensor more than likely will be improved with a update, like a lot of new releases.
You have to enable the multi tasking feature from Developer Options to get the best out of it.

4:15 to do two browser tabs, example you have Chrome browser on top, any app open on bottom. Click 3 dot Option on Chrome then click "move to other window"
And what I understand this phone has really sold good in Japan and Asia where it sold out right away. So it seems like Sony will have a success for once.

Sony was not fast in adapting to ever changing Android Market. They offer some really great product but they're really taking their time to offer the camera experience of pixel level despite being the major supplier of all flagship camera's.
More like they were too stubborn to change.
They were selling mediatek phones with 2300mah battery where everyone was selling 3000+mAh battery with snapdragon processors. What do you expect?

I don't know if some phones have always reliable fingerprint reader, but none of the phones I have used never work reliably. Smear will prevent the scanner from working and I guess it's a security thing, so it needs to be dry and the finger too to have maximum security. If people don't really care about security, then they can just leave the device unlocked.
I really wish I had Xperia 1. It is the only phone beside Huawei phones I really like. Only Huawei and Sony offer anything better than the rest. Huawei has the zoom capabilities and a vast software, at the same time having no major downsides, while Sony has the innovative aspects like 21:9 screen and Cinema Pro app. Other manufacturers are really not doing it for me, especially ones like LG and Samsung with their lagging software, I hate that. LG offers cheaper flagship hardware though. Other manufacturers like Motorola and Nokia excel at lower price points well.
If Xperia 1 comes in a compact size, then I will later down the road probably buy that for a lot less. Over 500 € for any phone is way too much for me no matter how cool. Fortunately you get a great deal by buying the flagship of this year next year. Even now though, from premium priced phones Xperia 1 is easily the best deal if you get those phones bundled - no contest.

So u should wait for Xperia 2, if u want a smaller version, and I think it will be cheaper also like xz2 premium and zx3, since bothe have same hardware but smaller version and some new specs just xz3
Actually messenger lite does support multi window while the full version doesn't. Funny...
So the camera is not good because of slowdowns or unresponsiveness if I understand. At least these are things that can be easily adressed, because the picture or video quality is great.
By the way, this phone is selling really well in Europe, it's kinda difficult to get one.

Strange, it sounded like Phonearena was more positiv over Sony Xperia 10-models than Xperia 1. Sure they wasnt all negativ. It was mostly software related issues, wich will get fixed. But yes Sony do have to fasten up there camera software.
A Pixel camera apk port could probably make it better
Insta & FB messenger not available in split screen? Cmon, how about a better use case such as being able to watch RUclips whilst shopping on the Amazon app or browsing through Chrome.
Also, background music is really annoying. Kills an already flat review.
In developer menu you can force any app to use split screen.
Your the 2nd reviewer who hates on this phone but why question is why ? It’s not perfect but neither is iPhone that are clearly over the 1000 margin prices wise. I love Sony and I have been looking forward to this phone and I’m planning to jump into android off my iPhone 8 into this or op7 pro but the Xperia 1 is not a flop

Im more concerened on long term reliabilty and durability...its an OLED screen, which means its prone to burn-in... im sticking with my XZ Premium until then.
No, Oled in phones is no problem at all, because you're constantly turning the screen off which is good for the display. Absolutely no realistic danger of burn-in.

I've been a loyal customer of Sony for over 11 years, still using Xperia Z5 Compact. But it's time for me to move to other brands even tho I still love their new devices. The phone is too pricey with average specs and they don't even provide the major software upgrade for that long. The time I could afford any of their flagships, the software support is already nearing its end... I just wish their devices weren't so costly at least.
This phone will get android 10 in early november. XZ Premium has security updates every month.
No android brand will give you 3 or 4 years of new OS version.

The Z5 Compact is just my daily driver. The kernel for this chip is already outdated that not even custom roms are supported. I said, Sony only provides two years of major upgrade for their devices which is not fair specially when the device is ridiculously priced high.

I want to give you the bottom line review on the Xperia one
Looked at it today at Best Buy against the note 10+ I would say the screens are awash I don’t find a Sony screen to be any better than the note 10+ I’d say it’s even the note 10+ has light years ahead better sound the downfall of the Sony Xperia one is a sound when you’re playing music or movies the sound is horrible there’s no bass it’s all trouble and empty sounding this is what kills his phone
I did look at some of the photos that I took on the phone and the photos are very good it does tend to blow skies out a little bit but I have to say the photo quality is very good video quality is average nothings gonna touch the iPhone 11 Pro when it comes to 4K video untouchable on any smart phone
Lots of RUclips content is not going to fill your 21 x 9 screen ratio you’re going to have black bars and when you do stretch it you start cutting the heads off there’s not a lot of benefit to the 21 x 9 aspect ratio it’s sort of like OK I wanted this phone to be my perfect phone but it isn’t I’ve chosen the galaxy note 10+ due to light years ahead better sound and a screen that is just as good if not better than the Sony screen that’s the honest to God review

Bro, u used the Phone for a week and still don't know that there's no auto hdr! I bet the hdr is much better than galaxy s10 hdr, by the way hdr is always on in s10 and p30 pro and most previous phones so in comparison with Xperia 1 of course u'll get that results 👎 do better next time

Being a "professional" reviewer, when you bash a device at least give proper data and present the proof. This is one of the worst reviews I have ever seen, regardless of the phone in the clip. So many errors, bias...
How long does it take a Pixel to shoot a night photo? Huawei? Less than 5 seconds? Did you hate on it too? How the hell is the S10+ example photo 05:21 in this clip better than the one of the Xperia 1?! As for the screen "findings" , those are just plain laughable.

Seriously...while the phone has flaws in some areas and it's by no means perfect and there is always room for improvement, the things that you complain about are minor and not really a deal breaker.
