My favorite travel credit cards: go.milevalue.com/travel-rewards-credit-cards-suw?aff=suw Travel credit cards have high sign on bonuses (for fast points accumulation) as well as higher % rewards for travel based spending. They also have tons of travel perks like free global entry + TSA precheck, airport lounge access, travel credits, free upgrades, & more. Something I think the world needs more of is MORE TRAVEL - building experiences is so important. For me, having travel credit cards and building up credit card points encourages me to spend on travel, since this is the best redemption to maximize points value. I don't accumulate points to get cash back- I get them to push me to travel more. Hope this video helps you out! -Charlie
I'm deciding between that and Amex Gold Delta. I do mostly fly Delta but I've been with Capitol One 16 years, just the current card doesn't give benefits.
My only problem with Chase travel is that they do not price match. I looked the other day for a hotel room at the Linq in Vegas and it was $200 more than Expedia for the same days. However, Capital one travel does price!
Thank you for the information but which one of these cards are good for purchasing tickets on a different site ? Example if i book directly through Delta and not on the cards travel site. I know delta has a card a well but sometimes another site will be more cost efficient
@@jazzychick351 Amex has Delta as a transfer partner. So if you use Delta a lot AMEX would be the way to go. I know Chase Saphire reserved greatest transfer partner is World of Hyatt.
When you book through bank portals, do you find the same prices such as using Google Flights? Cause if you dont find the cheapest options then it doesn't make sense
I've found that using tools like Roame Travel can be helpful. It allows you to search for flights in two-month spans and compare prices by state/country/continent.
I have the citibank AA card, but I really would like to find a better flight earning credit card in the future. If you had only one choice to choose, which would it be? I have to keep in mind the 5/24 rule so I have to make that one choice, good one!
for the venture x, you cant compare it to the preferred and American gold. the equivalent is to the reserve and platinum making the venture x the cheapest option. the american gold increase the fee to $325 not instead of 250. between the venture and venture x it is best to get the venture x. the venture card regular one is the equivalent to the chase preferred. venture x is harder to get approved for also so best to go to the venture x. i have 20+ credit cards. as for the reserved, it is best to get the preferred because both cards has too many overlapping categories so its hard to justify the 550. only get the reserve if you travel extensively like 5-10 times per year.
Can someone tell me how many points is it for a round trip flight domestic or maybe I should ask how many points equal $100. The first two seems better suited for me
So I get a sign up bonus if I spend XX Thousands of dollars within 4-6 months for a 700 credit? All these point systems seem scammy since you initially have to spend more than what you'd usually spend if it were just cash.
If you are about to spend that much money anyway, then it's a no brainer. For example, I bought a camera that was worth $6k, by getting the 70,000 points (Venture X initially offered 150k points!), you essentially get $700 off. Better than spending cash and get nothing. It depends how you play the system. You then take advantage of everything else (Global entry, $300 flight credit, etc.) and decide to renew or not. Pretty simple actually. They get people who can't control buying and not being able to pay it off. Depending on the agent, they will sometimes waive the fee and give you $500 credit just to keep being a member. I recently got back from a trip which was entirely funded by points with my wife...
HACK! If you have friends or family that are willing to put their purchase that they would already be making on your card and sending you the money directly can help you if the purchase requirement isn’t in your budget! Obviously make sure you are doing this with people you trust ,it doesn’t hurt to be the one who pays for your Friends/family dinner and they send it to you or swipe your card at checkout when grocery shopping etc. if it’s being paid on a debit card you might as well benefit from it in your credit.
No, it depends on your lifestyle. If you absolutely will not spend it, then no. But for example, my husband amd I had a 30k wedding. We had it cash. But I got a chase sapphire card and it's going to pay foe our honeymoon. We were gonna have a wedding regardless. Maybe look at getting it around Christmas time, people tend to spend more then. And offer to pay and have people venmo you. Etc
@@definitionxmk this right here. We were about to pay for a fence for our back yard and it is going to cost $6000 so I am thinking about getting one of these cards so we can just accumulate the points. We have the $6000 already for the fence and now I can just pay off the balance.
For example $4k in 3 months is only $1,333.00 per month. I don’t know a single adult that doesn’t have at least $1,330.00 in expenses every month. Shit my groceries are around $1,000 per month.
No. But even the cards that DO allow airport lounges, they are always pack.... Don't get a card just for that as you probably won't be useing the feature.
Amex Plat has great features but it's really expensive. It certainly is a good card for some people (I have one) but the Amex gold is a great choice too and less expensive
Spend $4,000 in 2 months for 60k "points"nah I'm good I would prefer to take that 4k and invest it take my profits and travel for free. That's ridiculous!
You’re looking at the $4k spend as separate spending. Typically the people opening these cards factor in their everyday expenses along with maybe a big purchase they are going to be making regardless, like a couch or something when considering the $4k spend. To relate it back to your example, that $4k you invest is the same 4k you were supposed to purchase a couch, go out to eat, buy groceries, etc.. for the next couple of months.
@@mackman3294 this could actually be easily reach if you use it for household expenses like rent or mortgage and pay the balance off with the money you were going to use anyway to pay those bills. It’s a creative way to get the most out of the dollars your going to be spending regardless. Doing this take discipline and I wouldn’t recommend for someone who hasn’t even master their budget yet.
My citi bank keeps lowering my limit even though I pay it off every month. None of my other credit card issuers have done this and the others are all major banks too. I'm trying to figure out if this is worth the headache. It doesn't seem like I'm racking up points and I'm not trusting them at the moment!
Listen Bro, credit cards are not a good formula for success and wealth. You know that Charlie. Mileage and points are the gimmics for the banks. Why don't you tell us about the wonderful interest that the banks charge? Thats why the banks are rich and you will remain poor and check to check in your life. Sad! You can travel without credit cards. Period!

I dont like the idea of having to book hotels or flights through their website because i could probably find a better deal from a different website
@@nunurbuisness5578 plus the interface isn’t great for users when booking in the app. Difficult to navigate in the app compared to other places

I agree I previously had chase sapphire and I wasn’t a fan of booking through their website
Venture X is such a great card. You gain points so quickly and if you stay in the Capitol One ecosystem, you are good to go.
My only problem with Chase travel is that they do not price match. I looked the other day for a hotel room at the Linq in Vegas and it was $200 more than Expedia for the same days. However, Capital one travel does price!
Does capital one price match airlines too?
It is easier and cheaper to find hotels within other sources.
Amex says it'll price match if you find a cheaper price for the same hotel
This is so timely. I am thinking about buying my first travel rewards credit card today and found this video. SUPER HELPFUL! THANK YOU:)))

Agree. Most time the portals are more expensive. The trick is transferring points .

I found my flight for the same price thru C1 portal as Google flights. 😜 I was happy.
