Emirates New Premium Economy and Upgraded Cabin on A380

- Emirates recently revealed their new Premium Economy seat onboard a new A380. I was invited to take a first look at the new Premium Economy cabin.
I interviewed the Chief Operating Officer of Emirates, Adel Al Redha, during my tour of the aircraft. I asked him why Emirates is launching such new product and whether more airplanes in the fleet will feature such a product.
Currently, Emirates is not selling Premium Economy seats until they have more airplanes equipped with the new product. For the time being they are giving complimentary upgrades for frequent flyers and full fare paying Economy passengers. More details of the soft product in Premium Economy will be revealed in the future.
Not only Premium Economy, the rest of the Emirates A380 cabin has also been upgraded. You can see the new fabric and finishing’s of Business Class and Economy Class.

I am so glad that Premium Economy are improving a lot nowadays, it's like it's so fit for people like me that isn't willing to spend on a business class yet not satisfied with the normal economy seat, this just fits right in
I've been flying only with Premium Economy seats since 2010, and it's really a bang for the buck without killing your travelling budget
yes, definetely, over the past couple of years my family have had to be flying economy bc business cost to much. now with premium economy, it will be absolutely perfection
Other airlines : *retire the A380*

It's so sad how everyone is already retiring the 380s. I really hope Emirates keep flying them for many years - such a beautiful plane! I'm always in awe of its size when boarding one
dream came true they are back.
I absolutely love A380s! Really glad to see Emirates revamp the A380 rather than retire them. That's why they lead the aviation industry in A380 usage.
I have always flown A380 with Emirates and hope to continue doing so in the future. Well done Emirates 👍!!
While other airlines sell off their fleet, Emirates is upgrading theirs to entice us back.
It's a very good move on their part. Sure, airline travel might be down now, but it will eventually return and there will never be a shortage of people who want to see the world in person whether for pleasure and business (you can only do so many things with a client via video chat, plus there are individual client preferences that want in person meetings and/or demonstrations.)
All emirates need to do is include a stop at LHR between UAE and USA and it’s good bye BA, Good bye virgin.
Could imagine Emirates A380 services landing at Heathrow from DBX and then onto USA. It would make LHR’s third runway entirely needed. Future looks great for Emirates

Hi
True well said
This truly shows the luxury that the A380 has to offer
The cream-colored and turquoise interior makes a big difference from other airlines that use dark colors. Emirates seems so bright and relaxing.
A wonderful PE product. It’s always interesting to see the reality when the cabin is full of passengers with reclined seats vs an empty cabin which always looks so spacious

Very nice!! Glad to see an airline bringing back what flying once was: a nice luxurious way to travel in comfort. Hope to see other airlines up their game too.
I truly love flying Emirates on the A380, to Dubai, I always wish the flight was longer, as I find it totally relaxing 😊
Sam, your video editing and sound support selection and overall integration have all really moved to the next level. Well done and thanks for your helpful posting.
Flying on the a380 is amazing, doing it six times I can say it's my favorite aircraft.
That’s absolutely excellent. The customer who can’t afford business class is now able to fly in a luxurious yet affordable environment. The seats look like they’re out of a high end car such as the Lexus LS. What a great idea!
Can’t wait! I’m flying to Milan next month from JFK. Even economy looks luxurious! I heard the crew is well staffed also. Definitely makes me feel more comfortable. Thank you Emirates! Showing the rest of the world how it’s done.
I saw another video where they talked about premium economy on Emirates.
And they found a flaw in the design if someone with the aisle seats is fully reclines and you’re sitting behind them by the window seats you can’t get out because the seats in front of you is blocking you plus if you are sitting behind the seat that has reclined that seat is practically in your face. I feel that they should take a whole row out and spread you out a bit gives you more legroom then if someone reclines you can still get out and you don’t have a seat in your face for the entire trip
1:00 "I can still slide down..." says the 1,67m guy... what a reference
Sam, my granddaughter and I haven't seen each other in a year due to covid. So we chat on zoom and watch your videos together now. We love your enthusiasm for plane travel, not from nostalgia for the world that we left behind but for a better, healthier one. Thank you.
Thank you for still providing us these lovely vids Sam!!!
Keep up your amazing job
Thank you for sharing your experience taking us the cabin of the A380. Emirates is one of the few operators getting closer and closer to the true usefulness of such a massive flying marvel of engineering. Great video.
it would suck being seated behind someone that fully reclines if you weren't fully reclined too
Agreed, would have been nice to see a shell design. I believe the rumoured HAECO Eclipse Seat features this so that doesn’t happen, as well as some other existing PE products
Was thinking the exact same thing...
Exactly. Why they dont use Shellseats like Air France.
The seat behind sam was also fully reclined !!
I know, but you could just recline to alleviate that. Of course it would mean you and the person in front agreeably being in sync with one another the whole flight, as to both of you sitting in up and reclined positions at the same time.
Finally a Premium Eco! Can’t wait to experience it myself ✨
Thankyou Sam for wonderful review. It looks great with your perspective!
Love the interiors.
Was waiting for this.
Thank you so much Sam😀
The a380 is such an amazing aircraft it’s sad to see it go😢
In fact, the a380 has outstanding feature for passengers.
@@77l96 it size does allow for it to be less prone to turbulance and allow other comfort. Say what you want, but passengers love the plane.
@@77l96 being economically unviabke is not the same is nothing being good. It's still good in terms of engineering, and passenger comfort
@@77l96 are you dumb the a380 is a marvelous aircraft passengers love it 😍 So as the company operating it . Due to the pandemic and the time it came out it never allowed the aircraft to reach it potential. Plus it allowed airline like Etihad take off With is first class suite so you saying the a380 aircraft isn’t good sound dumb.
You said the a380 isn’t good of it feature cmon on bro you making your self look like a clown 🤡 Bro it have showers and bars does the 787 have if it do it not better Than the a380 cmon make some sense. It space allow for all those do you think you can put a bar as big as a a380 on a 787 and a bar and have a lot of space no ok then. It allows companies to expand there business. Like the a380 in Emirates I flown on the 777 and the seats are cramped in economy while last year I went on the a380 I had a lot of room . Remember in order for a airline to make profit consumers need to be satisfied with the product and the a380 allow that.
@@77l96 Lol What did I say people prefer the a380 than narrow body planes for long haul flights dumbass if you give people a choice they would chose the a380 in economy than narrow body planes it gives more space which is what people want especially for high demand routes clown 🤡 which makes airlines profit right the only reason why it never reached it potential because of fuel prices and timing and plus the pandemic it hit airline hard which caused many of them to retire the a380.
Flying in the Emirates A380, even economy class is a beautiful experience. I can’t imagine what it must be like for First Class/Business Class. But I hope to try Premium Economy soon. Looks amazing
We are loving it bro keep doing what you do I love emirates and haven’t been able to fly forever and this reminds me of the good times
Absolutely love the a380 generally, this premium economy enhancement on Emirates with their award winning in-flight entertainment system and service means this is sure to be a winner! Cant wait to fly with them! 😀
Watching this with a nice cup of tea in hand :)
I didn’t know changed the interior
Reclining in the seat with the leg rest is a bit misleading when he doesn’t show the level of “comfort” if the seat in front of him is doing the same.
Pity the poor individual in the seat behind who wants to sit upright and the seat in front wants to fully recline! Hey get your head off my lap! Joking aside it is great if everyone hits the sleep time at the same moment, Having said that Emirates are just an awesome Airline to fly with. My 1st choice from Perth to Dubai every time.
@@alanfurlong-drummer4419 🤣😂🤣 Not to mention there goes your service. All of your food will have to be handheld...😂
@@BlaqViper no the tray table is built into the armrest

I agree about the A380. I absolutely loved it when I flew on that plane. The Premium Economy interior looks very comfortable and plush.
Final Emirates has a premium economy and i love this video i was actually waiting for Emirates to have premium economy for many years so that you can relax and sleep in the premium economy instead of paying 1000s of dollars to sit in a first class seat or a business class seat.

I love Emirates! I even created an augmented reality experience featuring them (You can fly the A380 from your home). Wish I would be invited to create a virtual reality experience inside their aircrafts!
Hi is there a link to this experience? Is it online?
have you considering contacting them? they or more likely other A380 owners might be willing to part with actual aircraft seats for there A380s that are now taken out of services.
You would be surprised how often they do like to help you if you are really interested.
it might take you a bit to get a full set including plates, cups, tray liners, curtains and what not. (how far do you want to go)
@@sirBrouwer Hi, thanks for the motivating comment Brouwer! I did, but they ignored all the emails I sent to them. I contacted many airlines to be honest to no avail and even to Sam. This virtual reality experience is going to be my graduation project (I am a computer science student), but since I am not getting cooperation, I am doing a different VR experience.
@@OrSNCucumber
Here are a few tips that could work better.
first try is to call them. a email is easily clicked away a phone call a little less.
Even better if you can visit a airport.
Ask them who do you need to speak with and can you get a appointment with said person. (Often the first person on the phone/desk doesn't know much about that kind of things but they do know people that do know)
Know what you need and explain said person what you want to do with it.
Do be prepared to make it as easy for them to say yes. If you want to buy a old airplane chair be prepared that you will have to arrange for shipping on your dime.
If they are willing to help you try to keep them engaged they might know just the person that has that other item or might.
Aviation people often love talking about aviation. (the engineer department is your best aim).
If is for your collage/university ask them if they have someone that knows someone with in the aviation business. Any one with a foot in to the door is extra. Even if it's someone that works as a tour operator.
@@sirBrouwer I tried all of these :) Believe me, I asked colleague in university, professors, people who previously worked at the industry, former flight attendants, I made phone calls but things are hard. Especially for someone like me who is not famous or known in the industry just yet. I managed to find a company however which will allow me to create a similar experience, and hopefully if everything works out well, I'd have opportunities to expand. Thanks a lot once again for all those helpful tips, they are indeed helpful, and I practice them on many fields in life!
Looks amazing, look forward to flying emirates premium economy next year!
You are my favorite aviation flyer. Love your vids! And you deserve so much more subscribe
Pemium Eco has been a missing piece with Emirates. Looks well executed. Particularly like the quilted seats and cushions. Like a luxury vehicle indeed, which in a way the A380 is. Rare and special.
Amazing video Sam, thank you! The whole plane looks beautiful. Airlines should really learn from Emirates when it comes to interior design. There is so much potential to make flights more comfortable, safe and special. Add a nice theme inside your plane and flying becomes a whole new experience for everyone. The standard sterile white interiors on most aircraft just lack a little life, in my opinion. Creativity is key in everything. Emirates is taking the right steps in trying to make economy look somewhat comfortable and nice. A little color definitely helps. They could further improve their cabin by replicating their premium economy look using less expensive materials (faux leather.) And regarding the Airbus A380, one can call it a failure, copycat, whatever. The plane is beautiful, unique and even somewhat revolutionary. I definitely would like to fly it someday, and Emirates looks like the right airline. Great video.
Thank you, Sam, for sharing your wonderful video with us.

Why does Adel Al Redha talking about the seat remind me of Omar Baba the FlyLo airline CEO from ComeFlyWithMe 😂😭
Hahahahahahahaha best comment! 😂

Sam, this is a real dilemma. I really want to fly premium economy but I'm retired & travel is now my hobby. I love the Emirates A380, I've flown 11 times in the past 5 years but I just can't justify the extra cost for 2 people. SYD to LHR via DBX it's more than $2,000 extra depending on the month you fly. I don't want to sleep in a park in London. Maybe just that last leg to London for a treat. Love your video's. Let's hope we are all flying again soon.
This is a great video Sam this will make a lot of avgeeks excited as well me being a huge fan of you every video makes me excited to watch it's so interesting!

Finally been waiting for someone to review it
What a gorgeous aircraft. I got goose bumps looking at that shiny cockpit.
What about the passenger sat behind you when you recline the seat? On BA it’s an absolute ball ache with a passenger in front reclining all the way and it’s not the best feeling. Business class from now on 👍
It can be reclined means you could recline your seat as much as u want. If you don’t like someone infront of you reclining their seat then you shouldn’t be on that seat. Go to your business class.
Just what I was wondering. I also wonder how much that 'little' extra is for Premium Economy. Æ 🤔
When a seat can recline that is it's intended purpose and the person in the reclining seat has every right to do it.
Why is this so hard to understand for some people.
@@Sillysillylittleman seems like you may need some help understanding before commenting on other people's understanding.

We are going to see more airlines upgrading their fleet to premium economic since the business/first class witnesses a decline in demand. Emirates has always been foreseeing industry demand and taking bold actions about it
A380 is KING that can never be replaced by any other plane and Emirate knows they're from country of king so they want to keep A380 as long as possible. Thanks for sharing Sam

It seriously looks like commercial Emirates advertisement rather than his own personal experience
Of course... This is a part of his income.
YESSSS I WAS WAITING FOR THISDD
You have some great videos Sam.
Looking forward to to boarding Emirates.
Emirates’ premium economy cabin. Overall, this product is pretty competitive with existing products offered by Virgin Atlantic and Japan Airlines. Emirates is the first Gulf carrier to offer a premium economy product, so it’s going to be interesting to see what kind of competing product (if anything) Qatar Airways and Etihad might offer in the future.
Bottom line. While most of the changes introduced by Emirates aren’t groundbreaking, they’re still positive and will improve travel for most passengers onboard the A380. These upgrades are also fairly sensible, considering Emirates is reeling from a global economic downturn caused by the pandemic. With travel projected to rebound next year, these improvements will give Emirates a competitive edge without making a huge financial debt.
How expensive compared to economy .do they fly from India in particular from Hyderabad
1st class seats are inspired by those found in the back of a mercedes s class 🙌
Not those tho, those are the older ones, which is interesting. They upgrade then entire classes but first... must be covid cuts
The first class is so ugly I don’t know why they didn’t update it with the ofhers
