Fantastic video as always man! One thing to note about the keyboards, the AMD model has a replaceable keyboard while the Intel does not (at least not easily). You can see the slight gap on the edge of the KB on the AMD where it slots in.
Thank you so much man! I had already decided which one to purchase but it was still very helpful to get your thoughts since you own both of them. Excellent review!!!
Great video! Just one note: The amount of memory the integrated GPU uses from the system RAM is dynamically allocated, so 8 GB is very likely just the lower limit that was set in the BIOS. There's not really an upper limit as long as there's more RAM available. The problem is that a lot of games don't recognize this, but this is purely a software issue, and I'm sure there are workarounds.
Great review and comparison - thanks! I'm refreshing my Gen 3 T14 with AMD because I can't stand how frequently it chokes on sleep mode, a well known issue on the AMD-based model. Any sign of sleep mode instability on this AMD?
@@Slap_Techokay, but it’s not 1999 any more, most laptops can sleep and wake successfully. I never shut down my MacBook since it can sleep and wake in less than a second - by the time it takes me to lift up the lid, it’s woken up from sleep and ready for use.
Great comparison. Intel must be throwing wads of cash at Lenovo to get these custom builds. That said, I recently priced out similar builds between the two and the Intel was at least $500 more. It's Lenovo, so it depends on the day of the week and the time of day as to pricing, but no matter there seems to be a pretty big price gap between the two. Only the buyer can decide if that's worth it given how close these are overall.
great video im looking fora laptop mostly to run adobe illustrator and photoshoot. I'm considering the AMD without the oled. or the Yoga pro 7 AMD that has a dedicated RTX 3050 any thoughts?
It's a pity the AMD version only comes within a 52.5Wh battery (in my region anyway). I still have a P14s with the Ryzen 7 5850u, and it's still pretty good. I use it as a Linux workstation, and replaced the trackpad with a glass one (it make so much difference!). Even with its old tiny battery, I'm squeezing around 8 hours of light use out of it (just browsing, and doing stuff on the terminal). Looks like I might go for a TongFang GX4 this time around...
Both amazing laptops, I would choose the Intel one for the nvidia graphics, it supports iommu and bunch of virtualization features (allows you to split the GPU for different guests) of course I would buy this laptop refurbished since they last for a long time. BTW will you review the gen6 T14 AMD ? its price is ludicrous right now though
@@PureLuck21 Not in my experience. I was able to unscrew it. Unplugging it was too intimidating, so I didn't try. 😅 The AMD is easier, not even a cable, it just plugs right in.

I have the AMD version in this exact configuration. It's a great laptop and I have zero complaints.
Awesome! Exactly what I was looking for! Cheers.
Ok so I am really considering pulling the trigger on this laptop, but can't decide between AMD or intel... overall which one would last the longest?
luv the dingle "slap tech" intro. years before anybody put so much into a youtube video
nice review. got AMD version with IPS 100%. Cheap material but seems robust. We will see.

I don't endorse using sleep mode on any Windows machine. I'm a strictly on/off kind of dude.

Mad helpful thx! The chart at the end will help me decide:) You should do a Thinkpad P14s Intel vs Zenbook 14 next

Where did you get the glass trackpad? Sounds great
@@gregthwuen I bought it from eBay. I think I found the model in some Reddit thread.
If the newer gen comes with Arrow Lake-H, that's gonna be easy. but I'd choose the one without dGPU for less heat and more battery life.
I have a query. Since everything is upgradable in this laptop, can we put battery of 75W in p14 AMD? just curious to know.
No, the chassis design is different.
Perfect timing to make use of the awesome sales on these rn
very good video, but price should play a role in that ranking shouldnt it? :D

the amd version is a 700 dollars now on lenovo, any thought ?

Streets of Rage 4
@@Slap_Tech First time viewer here, but seeing Streets of Rage 4 earned you a sub my friend 😄 also the informative & amusing comparison.
