Just ordered the P14s Gen 4 with AMD 7840u + 32gb soldered. Thanks for the tip about fixing the stuttering issue with bitlocker and tpm - i'll keep those in the back pocket. I've always owned intel high horsepower chunky gaming laptops (even though i don't game) so i'm pretty excited for a run about portable workstation i can actually take with me while travelling and not breaking my back. It's just the right mix of portable enough without compromising too much with heat management. Considered the X1 but the P14s G4 won by a slim margin.
Nice video, very nineties retro. You overlooked that the G14 has a magnesium alloy build which makes it much more durable. Also it has windows hello for logging in, which should give it perhaps a point more on the camera. Looking forward to more vids.
Yes, the upper crust Asus G14's have all magnesium bodies. This one in particular has a magnesium backplate for the display, a plastic body and aluminum bottom plate. Many kudos to Asus' marketing team for making it sound like all Asus G14's have magnesium bodies. Meanwhile, the ThinkPad has a magnesium body and the Latitude has a carbon fiber backplate on the display. The ThinkPad also has a Windows Hello compatible camera, plus a fingerprint reader that I neglected to mention.
Great video!, Despite the score and what you've said, I've got a feeling that you will end up keeping the Dell anyways just for the weight, battery and retro gaming. I'm surprised that you didn't add Price as a category in this comparison where dell will be the clear winner
