    Picked one up from Best Buy for $1000, pretty good deal, does get hot but that’s the trade off you get with so much power in such a small chassis

      you can undervolt the GPU for almost no significant performance drop, but the temp can drop to 20 Celcius

      @@M4W07 Yes its worth it. 6800HS+6700S is a really good combination. Amd CPU + Amd GPU is called AMD Advantage, meaning it will give you the best battery life. Its battery backup will be better than the same laptop running Intel CPU or Nvidia GPU.

    Asus Zephyrus G14 only gets hot when you really push the laptop. On ECO mode with DGPU disabled, it runs very cool and draws little power for day-to-day usage. An essential piece of software for it is GHelper which is a fully opensource Armoury Crate and MyAsus replacement and it works wonders. Laptop runs cooler and the battery lasts longer because of the much lower bloat. I would also recommend installing the official AMD graphics drivers instead of the ASUS ones, they work properly now with the laptop and I have gotten the lowest idle temps on the GPUs with the latest 23.7.1 AMD graphics drivers. I would also recommend changing the MediaTek MT7922 wireless card to a Intel AX210 as it works much better and many people have problems with those MediaTek cards such as MT7921 and MT7922 on new devices straight out of the box. These problems are not only localized to this laptop, its the same for the lenovo and acer laptops coming with those mediatek chips.

      just got a 2022 G14 2nd hand reformatted.
      Should I go with your advise because reddit has been going against your current advise, but that's when the AMD driver and AC had issues.
      Are those fixed now really?
      So I should install Ghelper, uninstall AC and also update AMD driver. Do we use myAsus then?

    • @Ronaldo-se3ff
      @Ronaldo-se3ff 10 месяцев назад

      @@IamNinjaOfNinja you don't need MyAsuss to update. GHelper has a built-in updater. Almost everyone on the ZephyrusG14 subreddit uses Ghelper. You can also install Official AMD Graphics drivers too. I sm using the 23.7.2 drivers on my laptop these days and it works very well, it has lowered my CPU and Igpu idle temps alot. Just uninstall the previous Graphics drivers with DDU and install the new ones then.

    I have strange problem with 402RJ model (6800HS, 6700S, 120Hz, 8GB RAM).
    When I wake up laptop from sleep on battery, temps go up and laptop drain 30W (before sleep 8W, depends on mode). After I re plug power adapter it works again normal on battery. I would add that while there is an error, the use of the processor and graphics card remains at a very low level.
    Error occurs only on iGPU and without charger plugged in (I need to do more tests to be sure).
    Specification:
    1) Hardware:
    - added 32GB RAM
    - new WiFi card to Intel AX210
    2) Software
    - Windows 11 (updated)
    - Asus Armoury Create uninstalled and installed GHelper (ver. 0.118.0)
    - all Asus services disabled through GHelper
    - BIOS ver. 319 (ver. 318 same issue)
    - original AMD drivers (31.0.12024.2005) and AMD Control Panel (23.8.1)
    - Modern Standby changed to older S3 standby mode with "UniversalAMDFormBrowser" program (I didn't check on default "modern standby" mode yet)
    Has anyone already had such a problem?
    I'll do more thorough tests and update the comment.

    The Zephyrus doesnt seem that fast looking at the benchmarks. I guess its fast for its size?

    • @Slap_Tech
      @Slap_Tech  Год назад +1

      Yes, it benchmarks under a Core i5 12th gen, which is a little embarrassing. To provide some context, that Core i5 was benchmarked out of a Dell G15 and was fed 80 watts.
      Since the Ryzen 9 in the G14 is only fed 50 watts, you can say it's just fast for its size.
