Status up date of my drowned Bronco. I just wanted to let my viewers know where I'm currently at today.
Getting the truck safely recovered was only the first step...
The endless headaches with my insurance company, Ford Roadside Assistance and God knows what else is only beginning.
I have the week off to try and sort thru everything, but it's a total uphill battle.

That sucks!! It has to be tough having to deal with all that. But it must've been an adventure in itself. I wish you the best and speedy return.

Glad you got out okay. Clearly you found the situation sobering. Good for you. It could have been really bad. But it was not and there is no sense in beating yourself up. Couple of lessons to be learned I think.
    1) Get a UTV for this stuff. They handle the water a lot better.
    2) Use the bronco and an off road trailer if you want to get to out of the way places but don't be going on any bridges in the bush with a Bronco
    3) The truck is a write off and some insurance companies would have told you to get stuffed. Your lucky I think unless you actually opted for offroad coverage.
    4) Get a Garmin Inreach. It costs us $25 cdn for service. I don't know were you were exactly but the places I have been this summer I would figure that you would be lucky to cover 1-2km per hour walking out. 20 km into the bush means 10 to 20 hr walk over extremely tough terrain.
Glad you and the dog are safe. Cheers mahn.

I cannot imagine what you were going through and all of the emotions you were dealing with. I admire your composure and collectiveness to talk about this situation. As many have said, a Bronco can be replaced but you can’t! I am so glad you’re okay and I applaud every single person involved in the recovery efforts. You all are amazing and made this possible! 👏

Oh dude. This is heartbreaking. I have no words. Stay strong. Im glad you and the dog are ok physically.
On my financing I have full replacement coverage. Did you check into that?
Sending you a hug and tons of positive energy in a really tough situation ❤

No, no full replacement... Well, the 1st year from Ford I think is. But not my insurance. However, my 2 door appreciated over the last to year... However a NEW one is $14k more than what i paid for the same truck two years ago. 🤷

I've been watching your channel for a while now and have always admired your heart and dedication in, and to your videos. The love and passion you have in your videos is so strong that it's almost tangible. I started to cry when you did, we all know how much you loved your rig. I know it sounds silly (especially right now) but everything happens for a reason. And while everything seems dark and cloudy right now, the sun will come out again. Please keep your head up, we're all here for you

Hoping for the best outcome for you man, and hope the situation doesn't dissuade you from more adventures!

Dude, I can’t imagine. I am glad you and the dawg weren’t physically injured, but you come off as a bit shell-shocked, for understandable reasons. Make sure that part of you is taken care of too! Hug your dawg extra tight. I hope you’re back into a new set of wheels soon and I get to meet you on the trail. Hugs brother. Some day this will all be a wild tale around a campfire.

Not sure why you thought Attempting to cross a bridge that was meant for atvs on an atv trail with a brand new bronco was a good idea. I was there today, it’s completely destroyed, the trail is almost useless unless you know the area and can get around

    • @TLOverlander
      @TLOverlander  Год назад

Trail?? It's a road... De La Plage and google maps sent me down it enroute to Otter Lake. Rough? You bet, in some spots. The bridge, while narrow, was wide enough for my Bronco. I could see both front tire placement on the trail cam.
Was it a good idea to cross it? In hind sight, obviously not.
But it was also getting late, I was low on gas and I just passed a cottage, so I assumed to bridge was used by locals and safe to cross. If it wasn't, I'd expect to see signs saying as such, like I did in the days prior on this trip.
It's regretful that a local did far more damage to the bridge than we did, but me and our local club have started a fund drive to raise money to donate to the Federation des Club 4x4 du Quebec to hopefully make a better, safer crossing.
