Material things can be replaced, the life of yourself and your pup cannot. I saw the post in the group and wished my truck was geared for this kind of recovery as having been stuck in the bush myself i know that sinking feeling. You got this fella keep your head up
If you can get the money from the write off, as well as buy the bronco back I would consider it. It still looks like its in good shape and people restore flooded vehicles all the time and if the bronco is anything like wrangler is it should have some decent electrical water proofing. Also consider the fact that the price of The vehicles have jumped so much I would definitely see if you have the option of buying it as a write off. I had bought a brand new motorcycle 2 years ago and had it stolen within a week. insurance was going to give me full msrp value, they ended up finding it a little beat up but enough they were going to write it off. I asked what if I could buy it and they just deducted the value they deemed it, off the insurance claim they were going to give me. I am also in Ontario.

Once they write it off the serial number is flagged and it can't be put back on the road. At least for water damage. Recently had this happen to me.

If it had the wash-out interior you should be ok as far as that goes. Electronics and engine is a different story...
