My wife wanted to look at new vehicles a couple months ago (she has a 17 ford edge). We were looking at newer explorers and edges! I noticed our local dealer had a Hot chili pepper red Bronco on the side. I told my wife I wanted to drive one because I heard from many people said they drive really nice, She wasn’t keen on the idea but went along with it. I drove it first and was amazed on how much better it felt to drive than our 17 edge! My wife said she did like the interior and it wasn’t that much smaller than the edge she has. I drove about 4 miles and then let her drive it back…within 2 miles she turned and said “I hate you” (and smiled) “ I really like this”. It was the Sasquatch package but it had a 4 cyl…..I really wanted the 2.7. ……so we waited. The dealer did buy our 17 edge outright tho. We had a Narrow package we both were happy with: needed to have the 2.7 , hard top , 4 door , leather or Marine vinyl…and a couple different colors we both liked. Very hard to find package! About a month later we found a 23 bronco in Azure grey with all the features we wanted except the leather….She absolutely loves the truck and said she’s never been excited to drive a vehicle every time she gets in it! She even wants to name it😅

As a wrangler owner that lives in the city with no garage, i think that one important factor that i did not hear you mention, that gives the Bronco an edge up, is that in addition to the mirrors being attached to the frame, the doors themselves have no window frames. The ability to take the doors off and throw them in the storage bags which fit in the cargo area is a huge benefit for city dwellers with no place to store the doors.

I own a '23 Wildtrak 4-door hard top that will never see a rock trail (I might take it out into the desert). I love the look and the ability to get me through just about anything thrown my way. It's a smooth daily driver that feels like a truck, SUV, and convertible Mustang all in one vehicle. There is no wind noise and very little tire noise. The only real mod I am planning is a Best Top Sunrider for hard top. I had one on my Wrangler and loved it.

@@timspaid2187 Thanks for the response. I’m just curious because it’s hard to figure out lead times for new orders. A lot of the forums I’ve been reading seem to be from 2021 and 2022. I just placed my order a few days ago. I was told by the dealership 5 to 6 months, but if I don’t receive it by the end of the year essentially my order gets canceled and I have to start a new order for 2024. I anticipate there will be delays, so we’ll see. When I initially inquired in February before the order banks had opened, I think the lead time at that point was a year to a year and a half, but I know that depends on options. I’m remaining optimistic but won’t hold my breath.

@@sarahrose1122 The order tracking site says the order was placed on 3/27/2023. It says it was built in just two days and shipped 6/4/2023. And although they can build a car in two days, they are showing estimated delivery of 7/4 - 7/17. I guess that is pretty darn good giving how long many have had to wait. One other little tidbit I've heard about (operative word "heard") is on July 15th, they are going to start on 2024 builds and that all builds will have the marine vinyl interior and plastic floors with drain plugs.

Ford was smart to give the Bronco so much in customizations, paint options, interior options, etc. Some of that may explain the serious delays in production.
Overall though, the Bronco is a great addition to the enthusiasts community. But I have to admit I'm very curious on the updates of the 2024 JL. The full-floating rear axle is certainly welcome for those of us that run 37s or larger. It also has a larger screen, retuned suspension, POWER SEATSSS(😂😂), and cheaper availability of the 4Xe in addition to retaining the Ecodiesel, Pentastar, and 6.4 Hemi.

OK I got the 2 door 2.7L Wildtrack. Coming from Mini Cooper it was a bit of adjustment LOL. So here are some of my comments. In the winter storm was a blast to drive. Roof Rack. Don't bother buying factory. It seems like a great deal but till you discover its weight limitations. Front driver cluster. I find it weird. If you have digital speedometer in front the analog seems useless. My eyes never go to analog. I would love the one in Raptor. I bought after market rails with a step. It helps great deal to plunk my ass on the seat. Mud flaps. Especially in the front you will get some spray and damage to paint is possible. My Wildtrack came with carpet and sound detaining so it is fairly quiet. If you are particular it's worth the wait. Good luck boys.

Great review. Best one I have watched. We special ordered an Everglades model and added the towing package, dual tops, tube doors and entry steps. Out the door, and after a 9-month wait, we paid $60,790. The dealer we chose, Bozard Ford, did not choose to add the markup because of demand (a big plus for them and us). Also, the Everglades gave us the most standard features (which were options on other models) and it is best suited to our driving habits and intended uses. If we did not add the options, then we would have been able to buy the Everglades for $56,580. Having it now for the past 2 months, we finds it to be very capable for off-road driving and regular use. The Trail Control feature is great. It is basically eliminates the need to "two foot" the gas and the brake, and serves as cruise control while off-roading, where you can control the speed in 4-Low between 1 - 10 MPH in one half mile per hour increments. Great to use while driving in sand, mud or on loose trails. The only issue we have found is interior lighting. We wish Ford placed stronger interior lights in the vehicle. Happy trails y'all.

By the time I'm ready to get one getting a new one is out of the question because even if I could afford a new one they can't build it the way I want it so I'll be looking used and if I can't find a used one with the features that are a must have for me then I guess I don't get one.

All I need is the base model 2-Door Bronco with the 2.3 Turbo and the Sasquatch package. And of course, the 7-Speed manual because significantly better gas mileage and more reliable.
Also of note. Turbo engines are far better at keeping their power/torque at high altitude.

I have a 23 2dr bronco. By the way it’s illegal for the wrangler to be on the roads with no doors unless you buy mirrors that mount on when doors are removed. The problem with Wrangler of today is the room in the drivers seat. If your a mall guy it’s really cramped. Especially in a 4 door, and I found very uncomfortable to drive. My old 87 AMC Wrangler had a lot more room. Wranglers also are not good daily drivers. And long distance traveling can be uncomfortable too.

Great, thorough review. One thing I’d be losing in switching from an Explorer to a Bronco is ventilated seats. I’ve seen in some other reviews that if you forgo the auxiliary switches, you get the drop-down sunglass compartment that I currently have in my Explorer. In this video you did mention ordering power versus manual controlled front row seating, but I didn’t see that particular option when placing my order for the outer banks with lux package. Standard showed manual front row seating, but it was upgraded to the gray with navy leather or vinyl, so I’m still unsure whether it will be power or not.

I know V8s are getting phased out but with jeep putting one in the wrangler and Ford keeping the V8 mustang another gen and in their trucks, I wonder why it's not an option in even the four door

But it is a very cheap and easy solution: for $20, you can buy a pair of mirrors that plug into the door hinges after the doors are removed, it will take 2 seconds to install. Also if you smash them during off road, just buy another pair.
