    My wife wanted to look at new vehicles a couple months ago (she has a 17 ford edge). We were looking at newer explorers and edges! I noticed our local dealer had a Hot chili pepper red Bronco on the side. I told my wife I wanted to drive one because I heard from many people said they drive really nice, She wasn’t keen on the idea but went along with it. I drove it first and was amazed on how much better it felt to drive than our 17 edge! My wife said she did like the interior and it wasn’t that much smaller than the edge she has. I drove about 4 miles and then let her drive it back…within 2 miles she turned and said “I hate you” (and smiled) “ I really like this”. It was the Sasquatch package but it had a 4 cyl…..I really wanted the 2.7. ……so we waited. The dealer did buy our 17 edge outright tho. We had a Narrow package we both were happy with: needed to have the 2.7 , hard top , 4 door , leather or Marine vinyl…and a couple different colors we both liked. Very hard to find package! About a month later we found a 23 bronco in Azure grey with all the features we wanted except the leather….She absolutely loves the truck and said she’s never been excited to drive a vehicle every time she gets in it! She even wants to name it😅

    I own a '23 Wildtrak 4-door hard top that will never see a rock trail (I might take it out into the desert). I love the look and the ability to get me through just about anything thrown my way. It's a smooth daily driver that feels like a truck, SUV, and convertible Mustang all in one vehicle. There is no wind noise and very little tire noise. The only real mod I am planning is a Best Top Sunrider for hard top. I had one on my Wrangler and loved it.

    As a wrangler owner that lives in the city with no garage, i think that one important factor that i did not hear you mention, that gives the Bronco an edge up, is that in addition to the mirrors being attached to the frame, the doors themselves have no window frames. The ability to take the doors off and throw them in the storage bags which fit in the cargo area is a huge benefit for city dwellers with no place to store the doors.

    Alex, are you an auto engineer? I'm just amazed at how technical you get in your reviews and how in depth you look at every single aspect of a vehicle. I know that you create your size charts based on other models in the same class of vehicle, but I wonder if you have a list with length, width, and height for all SUVs? I would gladly pay for the graphic.

    Got the exact 2dr last year cept manual consistant over 23 mpg city/hwy regular fuel. Took less than 6 months to order, build and at the dealership back then. Lots of off road with the factory Dulers. I find Low range throttle is very touchy. No snow over the winter this year😢. Still working on the RV flat tow setup on this well refined Swiss Army knife of 4x4s. Enjoy your ride.

    Great, thorough review. One thing I’d be losing in switching from an Explorer to a Bronco is ventilated seats. I’ve seen in some other reviews that if you forgo the auxiliary switches, you get the drop-down sunglass compartment that I currently have in my Explorer. In this video you did mention ordering power versus manual controlled front row seating, but I didn’t see that particular option when placing my order for the outer banks with lux package. Standard showed manual front row seating, but it was upgraded to the gray with navy leather or vinyl, so I’m still unsure whether it will be power or not.

  • @andrewlaino7518
    @andrewlaino7518 Год назад +2

    Great review. Best one I have watched. We special ordered an Everglades model and added the towing package, dual tops, tube doors and entry steps. Out the door, and after a 9-month wait, we paid $60,790. The dealer we chose, Bozard Ford, did not choose to add the markup because of demand (a big plus for them and us). Also, the Everglades gave us the most standard features (which were options on other models) and it is best suited to our driving habits and intended uses. If we did not add the options, then we would have been able to buy the Everglades for $56,580. Having it now for the past 2 months, we finds it to be very capable for off-road driving and regular use. The Trail Control feature is great. It is basically eliminates the need to "two foot" the gas and the brake, and serves as cruise control while off-roading, where you can control the speed in 4-Low between 1 - 10 MPH in one half mile per hour increments. Great to use while driving in sand, mud or on loose trails. The only issue we have found is interior lighting. We wish Ford placed stronger interior lights in the vehicle. Happy trails y'all.

    OK I got the 2 door 2.7L Wildtrack. Coming from Mini Cooper it was a bit of adjustment LOL. So here are some of my comments. In the winter storm was a blast to drive. Roof Rack. Don't bother buying factory. It seems like a great deal but till you discover its weight limitations. Front driver cluster. I find it weird. If you have digital speedometer in front the analog seems useless. My eyes never go to analog. I would love the one in Raptor. I bought after market rails with a step. It helps great deal to plunk my ass on the seat. Mud flaps. Especially in the front you will get some spray and damage to paint is possible. My Wildtrack came with carpet and sound detaining so it is fairly quiet. If you are particular it's worth the wait. Good luck boys.

    When they first came out the badlands trim started at 42k. They just keep making them more expensive witch puts the consumer in a bad spot because if they want a bronco they will have to give up a lot of the features to be able to afford it. By the time I'm ready to get one getting a new one is out of the question because even if I could afford a new one they can't build it the way I want it so I'll be looking used and if I can't find a used one with the features that are a must have for me then I guess I don't get one.

    Bro, you may want to check your numbers. You have the Tacoma has more interior room than the 4Runner. I’ve had both and can’t even sit in the back of the Tacoma. The 4Runner has plenty of space.

    All I need is the base model 2-Door Bronco with the 2.3 Turbo and the Sasquatch package. And of course, the 7-Speed manual because significantly better gas mileage and more reliable.
    Also of note. Turbo engines are far better at keeping their power/torque at high altitude.

    Ford was smart to give the Bronco so much in customizations, paint options, interior options, etc. Some of that may explain the serious delays in production.
    Overall though, the Bronco is a great addition to the enthusiasts community. But I have to admit I'm very curious on the updates of the 2024 JL. The full-floating rear axle is certainly welcome for those of us that run 37s or larger. It also has a larger screen, retuned suspension, POWER SEATSSS(😂😂), and cheaper availability of the 4Xe in addition to retaining the Ecodiesel, Pentastar, and 6.4 Hemi.

      That's not smart though. It's too many options to figure out, it confuses the customer, makes the vehicle more expensive to produce, and creates the production delays that you mentioned

    I've owned/driven a '78 FJ40, an '01 TJ, a 2018 Gladiator, and a 2021 Bronco 2dr Black Diamond. They're all awesomely fun cars in their own right. I loved them all for different reasons. The Bronco has by far the best on road manners - which is sadly where i spend 99% of my time. Hard top comes off easy enough w my DIY garage lift and it's just a blast to drive. I do miss the rough and ready feel of my TJ, never worried about it getting banged up, scratched, rained in etc... More worried about ruining my expensive (to me) Bronco than I was my TJ. Aside from that, its been a fun car and does exactly what I need it to do.

    You want the swing out door because if you lift it , the swing up will hit your garage door. I'm pushing it with my Cherokee Trailhawk with just a 2 inch lift. I actually had to put a pad on my garage door and I can't put my garage door down when my hatch is up.

    I'm considering a 4-door Bronco Big Bend with the 2.7L mainly to have a bit of fun and no trouble here in Canada during the snowy winter. I do really like the looks and idea of the bronco but do you think me being someone that doesn't really go off the beating trail unless I go up to the family cottage once or twice a year would enjoy the bronco as a daily putter to work or should I look at something else?

    Alex, Some subscribers may be too young to remember when car models offered as much specificity as the Bronco and Wrangler SUVs do today. 😁 Let's see how far Toyota will go in matching this range of options with their next generation of 4x4s. 🤔

    • @damilolaakanni
      @damilolaakanni Год назад +1

      My guess is that Toyota will, as usual, keep drivetrain options simple. One (or two) engine option(s), one transmission, and the choice between 2wd and 4wd. You might still be able to get different trim levels with different interior and colour options, as well as an optional third row.

    I will say this right now; Get the upgraded the upgraded tie-rods, tie-rod ends and control arms from Stage 3 if you are planning to do any serious offroading with the Bronco. The stock components are brittle and snap far too often.
