That was exactly my thought. I have PTSD and can’t handle loud popping noises (like balloons popping for example) and if she purposely did something to make loud noises I would have flipped her off and walked off stage.

I went to her show once- oddly enough it was her 1000’s show ( so we ended up with some great swag ). Even being we had no idea at the time it was the 1000 show. I got home late a couple of months ago and saw a shadow on the door across the room. As I cautiously investigated my fear was confirmed... huntsman spider. A very dark coloured one that was large sized. I was about to get the spray and fly swatter when it saw me and compressed its body against the door it was on then sprang right off the wall towards me!!! I nearly died! I ran for the spray keeping my eye on it and began spraying it as soon as I had the can in my hand moving forward to close in on it.... and it started trying to get away.... it ended up going under the door into a bedroom so I sprayed along the whole door frame and under the bottom in particular. The body was found the next day. That's what they get if they try to enter my space!!!!!

The Channing Tatum scene kinda reminds me of the catchphrase “No means no”, which seems to be only valid for women, right? And the people laughing, are eerily reminiscent of those who wouldn't bat an eye if they saw a male getting assaulted or victimized by a woman. But on the other hand: “Don't you dare look at a woman, or you're going to jail”. Great world we're living in, ain't it?
Honestly I felt so disgusted watching that clip, she just lays on top of his body and it was NOT okay at all. “No means No” applies to men and women. We truly need to break the stigma around sexual assault that happens to men as well. 😕 So disappointed by Ellen and the audience.

And I wanted clarify one thing from my comment, I was hinting at cultural acceptance for that slogan “No means No” when it's a woman saying it to man, but often neglects to extend the same courtesy to men. If you've ever seen the social experiments, you know in the first try men seemingly abuse women in public to gauge people's reactions, and then on the second go women abuse men in the same settings. You might've noticed there's always a disparity in how people react, if they do at all and the intensity of their interventions when the male is the victim.
So my intent was merely to point out the hypocrisy in the cultural perception of what is acceptable in terms of gender equality.

Agreed. Ellen easily could have picked up that check and or made a call or two and paired up with Oprah or some other washed up daytime show and picked that up. Oprah is quick to help only black women in other countries. Why not help women in our country too?
