      I thought the unusual powers granted by the space stone were unrealistic for the magic stone. Thought Kahorri was unrealistically 4x faster and more powerful than all the other super people.
      None of this mattered to me when I saw her rushing through the main world to go obliterate an army.
      I imagined ruthless carnage and was disappointed when she just kept throwing 6 people at a time when she had super speed.
      Then for the almost first time in the episode, she failed as she was unable to exert enough force to stop the flurry of cannonballs (realistic) but nevermind, her defeat was undone by an army showing up to save her.
      It would have been interesting if the rest of her super powered people had adapted to their easy lifestyle so much that they simply were afraid of a war or weren't so overpowered that they were invincible and were subsequently afraid of death... but nope.
      Also, Kahorri took a cannonball to the face and her skull was in tact. The space stone, if anything, gives the power to manipulate kinetic energy and bend space. These superpowers should not have granted bullet proof, wait, CANNONBALL proof bodies XD.
      If Captain America was bullet proof, he wouldn't have a shield.
      If Iron Man was invincible, he wouldn't innovate.

    This episode was awesome! Did you notice how kahhori was speaking Spanish when she came to queen Isabella’s court? For me, the best comics have always been about wish fulfilment against power structures; even Superman started out by regulating on greedy landlords and business owners. This was a fantastic example of that kind of story, and I got chills during the scene of all the Thunder Beings attacking the ships and freeing their people. I also appreciated the attention to detail and accuracy.

      Regardless of representation, if you're doing a series called "What if...", then this particular theme is literally begging for being picked up for at least one episode.
      The original inhabitants of America had many unique and interesting cultures, that most people nowadays know nothing about. What would have happened if Columbus never discovered the "New World"? How would the various societies and cultures in America have developed if Europeans arrived to that continent much later? And not as conquerors but just as visitors, traders, equals? Or what if the Native Americans were able to fight back and protect their people and country from greedy conquistadors, as they did in this episode?
      For me, as an European interested in other cultures, this episode was pure joy. The native inhabitants of America had a sad fate in the real world, so at least they got their chance to flourish and triumph in this Marvel episode. I especially liked that the episode was in their native language, not in English.

    I really appreciated in the last scene that Kahhori was speaking Spanish, that the subtitles weren't just auto translated for the viewer. That she took that time to learn her enemy's tongue, showed she's willing to empathize with them, despite their attempts at colonialism. She still gave them some respect, while firmly giving her peace negotiations. And it made her snappy remarks all the more funny.

    1. There have been many cases where characters in the comics actually came from show/movies. For example: Harley Quinn, Agent Coulson, etc.
    2. This show is literally called "What If..?" and this episode is true to what the premise of "What if...?"

    COLTON COLTON COLTON!!!
    This episode was BADASS!!! I really liked the introduction of Kahorri and the detail that was paid to Native American culture. Just such a cool idea for a new hero!!!
    Thank you so much for keeping up to date breakdowns coming our way, I can’t imagine it’s easy to stay on top of coming out day after day for 9 days. Keep up the good work!!!! 👍

    They may argue that it is just another multiverse, but I didn't like the fact the people in the MCU took all this trouble to make this episode accurate for the native American people but did not do the same for the Spanish people. We can see a SINGLE Queen Isabel and speaking modern day Spanish 🤦🏻‍♂️🙄 also , Spanish conquistadors who went way deep in North America, get in contact with the tesseract and travel through it but strangely don't get any power from it... however, this is not intended to be a historical but a fictional story and I had so much fun watching this episode and I love this new character.

    • @nailinthefashion
      @nailinthefashion 5 месяцев назад +1

      They didn't get power because they weren't respectful to the land. The ancestors gave sentience to the space stone's power, so only those with the best interests of others are granted power.
      It wasn't a neutral thing for anyone to take but something more based in community, compassion.
      I would not be shocked if those bison fruit are then able to be given to those outside the tribe who won't forsake the power as well, people like Echo after her redemption arc.
      To then nitpick the Spanish representation just because it isn't what they focused on THIS time is folly. Spin too many plates and they crash.

    • @rodriguezvictor86
      @rodriguezvictor86 5 месяцев назад +1

      Save the adjectives. It is not folly nor nitpicky to ask for accuracy. You may find whatever reason to justify it and it is fine and valid, but it is not specified that people need to be in harmony with nature to get power from the tesseract (look at Wanda). But yeah... I liked this episode only that detail I did not.

    • @bougiebohemian5393
      @bougiebohemian5393 5 месяцев назад

      The conquistadores also weren’t on the landing enough to ingest any foods or beverages to fully have “power” from the tesseract. They wouldn’t even have known they “had powers” or how to use them.

    • @proximashining776
      @proximashining776 5 месяцев назад +2

      I can see two possible explanations.
      1) The Spanish actually got some powers, they just didn't realize they had them and had no idea how to use them.
      2) The Tesseract in the water only gave powers to those who deserved them, gave less or no powers to those with more negative attributes (like those who were violent). Which was why Kahhori seemed to be more powerful than the rest, as she had the purest heart of them all.
      As was shown in the movies, the Space Stone can be rather judgey. It gave powers to Captain Marvel, who was a good person, but punished Red Skull, who was a villain.

    The starting of the ep was normal as always, but the middle point or I should say the point where kahori started to make difference between the old stucked-up people and her decision of going back. That's when the glorious scenes started where she looked like a powerful spiritual being. Looked deadly cool.

    at 9:02 the mention of thunder beings may not only be a reference to Thor, because in Mohawk teachings, "thunder beings" are a real thing. Earlier in the episode Wah:tha says the word "ratiweras" which in Mohawk means thunder, or thunder beings.

    Also, think of the conquistadors destroying Namor’s village, and Namor and his mutants (who were changed by exposure to their own herbs-blue and glowing like Kahorri and her people) coming to give them hell.
