Thank you! Like a dying man in the desert I finally found a sip of water watching your videos. Actual useful information, what a concept. thank you for sharing your skills and for taking the time to record, edit, and upload the video...Ive recently been learning to appreciate the effort others do in this regard. Its not easy.
Very impressed with your sharpening equipment....It must be the best avaliable....glad to know about your service and appeciate all the detail videos that you offer. It is good to see precision workmanship especially since we live in a throwaway society where precision seems to matter less as time goes on.
I have always used spray. I have horse clippers... I won’t splurge for a diamond wheel, but I have a stone I can use. Looks like I’ll be tossing my sprays out and using the oil. Thanks!
In another response you state “ to sharpen a blade correctly you have to have a wheel with a convex or bevel pattern incraved into it to give the blade a bridged shape”. The wheel in your video is a platter, so I’m confused where the convex profile or bevel is. Can you explain?
I have a machinest put a pattern in it with a lathe machine. You can't see it. Use a block and tell me the results, it won't work. The earth looks flat but it is not.
none of those will sharpen your blades. sharpening stone will ruin your blades after using it a couple of time or even the first time. wire brush only cleans the hair from the teeth and doesnt sharpen at all. the modifier ruins the comb blade by sharpening the wrong side and make the comb blade sharp and they should be delicate to the skin like a comb it. the cutter blade is whats suppose to cut the harp. to sharpen a blade correctly you have to have a wheel with a convex or bevel pattern incraved into it to give the blade a bridged shape to cut for a long and sharp time
Hi. Glad you enjoyed the video. My grandfather designed it 40 years ago and only family owned. I'm not selling them yet. Next best thing I'd a Nebraska sharpening machine. Thank for watching
where did you get your wheel? i noticed you placed the blade point edge flowing with the direction of the rotating wheel not against it.....i have seen others claim you need to have the point edge directed into the rotatiing wheel....great video btw
Hello. I'm sorry the wheel is not for sell yet. It's family owned and my grandpa made it. I've always sharpened the teeth away and I have other sharpening and do the same. Hope I awnsered the question correctly. I'm glad you enjoy my videos and thanks for watching
i have a work sharp 3000 will this work to sharpen a clipper blade with the glass and sandpaper combination. or is there a different wheel i would need for it. im trying to sharpen my nieces clipper blades and they cut for a bit then start snaging. doesnt matte if i leave it at a 400 grit or take it to even a 2000 grit.
Hey Jason. Most clipper blades are sharpened with a hollow pattern as opposed to being flat which is probably what is causing your issues. I would not recommend sharpening clipper blades on flat grinding surfaces. To sharpen clipper blades properly you would need a grinding wheel that is shaped properly to be able to produce the hollow grinding pattern that would be necessary for the blades to cut correctly, and even more so consistently.
@@cloudsdiamondsharpening3973 that I'm starting to understand now. Do you know if there is anything I can stick on my worksharp 3000 that would work. Or just take a 3/4" MDF and put a 1 to 3 degree angle to it
I find it impossible to read all your writing and listen to you at the same time. It's such a shame because I'm missing out on your knowledge because of it 😭

I assume you are simply hollow grinding the blades and that wheel of yours has a dish to it, or rather a slight bulge in the central portion.
Rich barber modifier vs shepening stone vs wire brush? 🤔 which is best

Thanks for the video. Music itself is fine, but the volume of it makes it hard to hear what you're saying.
Thanx for the tips
Very informative. Where do you get your diamond wheel? What brand? Cliff's Classic Barbershop.

I have the basic cheap Wahl Color Pro. Do you happen to know if it would it work for those blades?
They do not fit your clipper. These are detachable blades but I can sharpen your blades that's on those clippers
What kind of turning table do you have
I use a custom built machine.
